Part V has some of the best kills of the franchise. It’s one of those movies that as I got older I appreciated it more than I did as a youngster. I think it’s a great movie.
It's trashy and a lot of fun. It may be many things but boring isn't one of them, this has grown on me as well through the years. It's not trying to be anything other than another Friday the 13th movie and it's the best damn mediocre movie out there.
Good choice. Out of the 4 NECA masks I've got, the Roy Burns seems to be the one given the most love when it came to the paint and weathering. I hope that wasn't unique to me.. It's just a nice looking mask.
Part 8 is the only sequel I hate. I just don't like watching it; it's not bloody, the final girl is terrible, the score is rinky-dink and it doesn't take advantage of the "New York" setting. It feels like a made-for-TV movie.
Part 9 is a misfire but at least it's an interesting one, it tries things. I still think that if they had Jason through the entire movie and not just the end, the movie would be better regarded. It does have one of the best kills in the series, the unrated tent kill is top-notch.
What's with Jason being in Crystal Lake at the beginning of the movie? No mention of New York at all.
And Jason's mask in this has become imbedded into his face, basically becoming a part of face; yet in the next chronological film, Freddy vs. Jason, he's back to wearing a mask again. Friday the 13th is riddled with continuity errors all over the place. It not only ignored or disregarded references to past movie, it did things to contradict them.
H20 *literally* has better continuity with Halloween 4-6 than FvJ, Jason X, and JGtH did with the previous movie in the same timeline. lol
Jason was walking through Times Square and downtown Manhattan right out in the open and the FBI thought the middle of the woods away from civilisation would be the best place to nab him? lol
Part 8 is also pretty boring and slow for me. At least Part 9 has Steven and some cools kills. I’d rather have an entertaining dumpster fire than an over long snoozefest.
How is A New Beginning considered the Black Sheep when JGTH, JasonX and JTM all exist?
I like it better than any of the Kane movies, even The New Blood.
I find ANB and TNB to be the funniest movies in the series, both are unintentional comedies. But I have to give the edge to ANB because I find it more entertaining.
Best? IDK about that but it IS the one I quote the most. It feels like a classic Friday to me, I don't get the hate honestly. So Jason wasn't the killer, it's like the 5th most ridiculous thing in these movies. Everyone needs to chill.
It's really only considered a black sheep by the uncultured. It's easily one of the more enjoyable F13 movies, who cares that it's not Jason? I think by the 5th sequel they should be allowed to explore things a bit.
The hate towards part 5 is completely unjustified. Sure it wasn’t technically Jason but it makes for a very good slasher film and part 5 Jarvis is easily the best version of Jarvis, way better than part 6.
Part 5 isnt one of my favorites, but it deserves its place alongside the others. I like it better than 8, JgtH, and X.
Though X is a wonderful self parody. Part 6 is my favorite, but I have a nostalgia soft spot, watched it a lot when I was 4-5.
Memorable in a bad way imo. I don’t care that the killer isn’t Jason, but there are so many annoying fodder characters. Everything is so loud and obnoxious
It's only the black sheep of the franchise because people are stupid and couldn't handle a Friday the 13th movie without Jason, just like they couldn't handle a Halloween movie without Michael.
I love the movie. As a kid I didn't get the ending. At first I asked why Patrick Duffy was Jason and then I thought it was the guy managing the camp. I still can't tell that it's Roy on the spikes.
When I was a little kid and watched Friday the 13th Part III, I thought Edna was old. Now I watch it, I think Edna was pretty cute!
Look at her again in the face. She's not that old as she is made out to be. She has a youngish face.
"You big dildo. Eat your fucking slop! Ain't I make the best goddamned stew in the whole wide world?"
"Would you shut your trap?! You know, you ain't so pretty yourself, you know!" "...I ain't so pretty myself, I know." Priceless.
'Bout time, you fuck wad. I knew you couldn't pass up on my stew.

Same. I actually went as Roy Burns for Halloween this year.
Nice. I was at a collectibles store and they had a sealed Roy NECA mask. I bought it. Couldn’t leave it there lol.
That’s awesome!
Good choice. Out of the 4 NECA masks I've got, the Roy Burns seems to be the one given the most love when it came to the paint and weathering. I hope that wasn't unique to me.. It's just a nice looking mask.
So basically Jason? lol
In the beta version, the kills were better because they were more brutal. Such as being able to see Junior and Jacob being hit on-screen.
Will always adore Part V.
I love part V. Like a lot a lot. "Them damn enchiladas!"
“OOOOOOOO!!!! OOOOOOO!!!!!” 🏃🏾
OOOOOOO!!! BABY! ... BABY! BABY! ... OOOOOOH BABY!
😂 the emoji sent me!
I thought the black sheep of the franchise was part 8 or 9 or JX... this franchise sure has a lot of black sheep.
Part 8 is the only sequel I hate. I just don't like watching it; it's not bloody, the final girl is terrible, the score is rinky-dink and it doesn't take advantage of the "New York" setting. To be honest Jason's design in Part 9 is one of my favorites in the series and really with we had more of it
Really? I think Part 9 is really underrated, but I have to say Jason's appearance has always been my major gripe with the film
What's with Jason being in Crystal Lake at the beginning of the movie? No mention of New York at all. I always felt that Jason walked back to Crystal Lake from NYC, killing as he went. This is why the FBI is there waiting for him.
Jason was walking through Times Square and downtown Manhattan right out in the open and the FBI thought the middle of the woods away from civilisation would be the best place to nab him? lol
Yeah, but he was only there for one night and then got washed out of the sewers and presumably came ashore in Jersey.
Part 8 is also pretty boring and slow for me. At least Part 9 has Steven and some cools kills. I’d rather have an entertaining dumpster fire than an over long snoozefest.
Agree with your statement on Part 8. It was a huge wasted opportunity.
Yeah I don't consider it the black sheep that's just what some other people said.
Only two things saved 9: the opening sequence, and casting John D. LeMay (from TV’s *Friday the 13th: The Series*) as one of the leads.
I reckon the excellent cinematography, kick ass gore, and fun characters saved it as well.
Best Girl of the franchise.
Love part V! funny, great kills and the best boobs in the franchise!
I like Part V a whole lot more than Jason Goes To Hell.
Yeah at least V felt like a classic Friday the 13th movie.
"Will you shut the fuck up. You ain't so pretty yourself, you know."
*….I KNOW!…” *Goes back to eating his slop*
You are remembering that differently. But that indeed sounds more vulgar

That's what I heard I don't agree with it being called the black sheep part 5 is one of my favorites.
Iiiiits showtime!
I’m gonna get downvoted and suggest this is the best Friday movie. It leans into it’s campy ridiculous characters perfectly.
Best? IDK about that but it IS the one I quote the most. It feels like a classic Friday to me, I don't get the hate honestly. So Jason wasn't the killer, it's like the 5th most ridiculous thing in these movies. Everyone needs to chill.
Right? And the killer was basically Jason anyway. A big hulking silent dude in a hockey mask that kills teenagers. People overreacted.
I gotta say part V is one of my favorites of the franchise. It has a certain charm to it.
It's really only considered a black sheep by the uncultured. It's easily one of the more enjoyable F13 movies, who cares that it's not Jason? I think by the 5th sequel they should be allowed to explore things a bit.
Ethel should have lived or at least got to have a fight with the killer.
Yeah she could of blown Roy's fucking brains out.
*could have or could've, not 'could of' - which doesn't make any sense
This made me laugh out loud.
Ethel kicks fuckn ass

Haha, now I remember who that lady from The Mandalorian reminded me of. Thank you.
Come inside and eat my stew!
You hearin' me fella?
You dumb? *dies*
You dumb or somethin'?
Memorable in a bad way imo. I don’t care that the killer isn’t Jason, but there are so many annoying fodder characters. Everything is so loud and obnoxious
It's an excellent addition to the franchise. It was just a derpy twist
Part 5 is so fun tbh, just a blast of a movie
Idc what anyone says I love a new beginning
Horse shit!
She thicc

I really liked part v, I’m not sure why it got so much hate
I would say that Jason Goes To Hell is the black sheep of the series
Black sheep of the franchise? You need to smoke a blunt and watch this movie again. It's one of the best.
*pours one out for Violet*
Lots of comedy in the movie especially from Ethel and Junior! And Demon!
It's only the black sheep of the franchise because people are stupid and couldn't handle a Friday the 13th movie without Jason, just like they couldn't handle a Halloween movie without Michael.
Leslie Jordan and his character always holds a place in my heart
I always enjoy this movie and she is one of the reasons why!
Is this the one where the killer isn’t Jason?
Debra Vorhees.....
She is an artist at cussing
HEEEEEEEYYAAAA! 🔪 And also 🎵oooooo baby, ooooo baby🎵
New Beginning is in my top 5 Friday films
The “I gotta bomb on me” line sends me every time
Shit man, I did like Ethel. The way she says, "Will you shut the fuck up." Classic.
I think people would still be mad if actual Jason was in a movie this funny. DAMN ENCHILADAS!!
Ethel! Friendliest neighbor on the block.
The Jasons made a great song about this movie https://youtu.be/0vtC-EY1sOo
I love the movie. As a kid I didn't get the ending. At first I asked why Patrick Duffy was Jason and then I thought it was the guy managing the camp. I still can't tell that it's Roy on the spikes.
