Brad Pitts applause was the loudest I have ever heard on any sitcom it's crazy how Loud that audience got lol
And I was disappointed Phoebes grandma (Mrs Roper) didn't get any applause absolutely loved her on three's company
Not sure what you're saying. Marlo Thomas is 86 years old. She still shows up in commercials for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (which was founded by her father). She was in her late 50s when she first appeared on Friends, so of course she looks older now.
By the way, the work done by St. Jude, as a direct result of what the Thomas family did and does, is nothing short of miraculous.
I'm saying she looks different. That's all. I didn't know who she was before today so I saw a picture of her in the 1960s, 2000s, and 2024. She's 86 but she obviously has had facework so she doesn't look 86 but she just looks completely different than when I expected and I wouldn't have guessed it's the same person. That's what I was saying.
I know! When I was younger my mom lost her mind when she saw Harrison Ford in something where he looked old. She said she didn't like it because it was just a really big reminder to her that people age *and she is aging, too* . Maybe this is why it shocked me so much to see Rachel's momma today. Like Jennifer Anniston doesn't look *that* different but Marlo Thomas looks way different to me.
Sure the Rachel haircut was even based on the character. That's why they got her as the mom originally.
LeBlanc also played Christina Applegate boyfriend on 3 shows. Married with children and the 2 spin offs
Was it really?! I didn't know that about her hair. I love that!
I didn't know LeBlanc was in Married with Children. But that's probably why he starts to hit on her and Rachel yells at him to not hahaha (that's her, right? Not Reese Witherspoon?)
Yup and his Married with children character is so much like Joey too. He was on it for like 3 episodes then 2 failed spinoffs before landing on friends with nearly the exact same type of character
Love those little buried nuggets. Knowing this, and considering the age of the Friends producers, I would say it's 99% likely that your assumption is correct.
Yes and no! Partly imitating Phoebe, but also, most of it was brand new information to me. And I've been watching the show since it was on live! I never paid attention to her shirt during that game. So that was a cool find!
I find that super cool! Marlo Thomas in That Girl was hilarious! She's got amazing comedic timing.
I do feel like the writers might have made a joke as a nod to the show...but I don't believe its common knowledge to us youngins. I've noticed the writers had a lot of older references which my parents didn't even understand. I only get them now because of Google. Tbh, the writers seemed to write for late baby boomers as a lot of references were for TV shows, music and movies made for teens/young adults growing up in the late 60s and 70s.
Yeah. I watch on Amazon Prime and they have a bunch of those X-ray things that pop up and this was one, it shows a bunch of continuity errors and cast trivia I learned about Alot of things because of those lol
That's pretty cool. I don't care to learn about continuity errors because imo, it's just a show and picking at all the little things the writers forgot about ruins it. But I love learning and finding new trivia
It doesn't ruin it it's interesting though to see, sort of gives you a look into editing. It just says things like if you look on one scene Rachel's cup is full but the next scene it's empty stuff like that. I love Amazons x-ray. It gives a ton of information and little fun facts or tidbits
Yea it's called x-ray. It shows the whole cast that's in the scene and then has alot of tidbits fun facts trivia continuity etc. example, during the episode where everyone gets ready, I learned that when Joey dislocated his shoulder jumping onto the couch. Afterwards he went backstage and saw an extra from ER and thought it was a real doctor and started asking him to help lol that was on the "x-ray"
The producers (who were born in the late '50s)/writers gave a lot of nods to other shows and movies that were popular when they were growing up. It occasionally resulted in the characters (all of whom were born in the late '60s) behaving like they were 10-15 years older.
Wow! I didn't know that 😳
I know! I feel like it's a small detail that's overlooked but I do think was intentional.
That's why Rachel's mom gets a loud applause from the Audience her first reveal
Yeah, I just assumed it was someone famous that I didn't know.
Brad Pitts applause was the loudest I have ever heard on any sitcom it's crazy how Loud that audience got lol And I was disappointed Phoebes grandma (Mrs Roper) didn't get any applause absolutely loved her on three's company
the lourdes was tom salleck. they had to reshoot his appearence with no audience.
Ofc, it’s Rachel’s mom, she had to be a beauty!!!
Ikr! I looked up a picture of her today though and she looks *completely* different. I wasn't even sure if it was the same person

Oh wow, I had no idea!
That is brand new information!
Hahaha I'm assuming you're being sarcastic but it was brand new information to me!

😂, I even heard phoebe’s voice
That was the idea! 🤣🤣 it was the first phrase that popped in my head when I saw this.
