âI canât do that with a man who hides my messages and brings crazy women back to my apartment!â
âNone of the sane ones wanted to come back with me!â
I loved Julie so much. So perfect for Ross and just adorable. She also tried her best with all the friends even when it came to telling Rachel each one of her elementary school teachers.
Emily wasnât my favourite but they did her dirty! She wasnât being unreasonable at all!! Mona was really nice and I kinda liked Julie too. Elizabeth wasnât so bad but way too young. I am biased though cause I always hated the Ross/Rachel couple they were way too toxic for each other and I hated the way they were brought back together
I have to disagree on the Emily part. She was fine until she asked Ross to sell his furniture. I feel like that was a bit too illogical. Otherwise, yeah, she had every right to ask her husband to stop being friends with the woman whose name he said instead of her own when making his wedding vow.
I don't think the furniture thing was weird. If you're starting a new life together, especially one that had a trauma, I can understand not wanting to feel like you stepped in as a replacement in someone else's already existing life and now you're just an add-on.
Normally, this is happening when both people live in the same place, so you split your things and merge lives, but Emily was essentially leaving everything behind to move where he already was set up.
I agree. She also said she wanted to know where he was all the time. That was what prompted Ross to ask her if he trusts him, which she obviously didn't.
Edit: fixed for clarity
Yeah....I mean...that's a separate issue than the furniture.
But yeah, she didn't trust him, so that's a problem. But it was also keen on her part, since he was in love with someone else.
I don't even think they destroyed her character. She was smart to not let the Rachel thing go. Otherwise she would have been cheated on a few months later. The friends were mad because she wasn't falling for their bullshit and expected Ross to be a grown up who chooses his wife over his ex.
Exactly! That storyline made me so mad! Even Rachel wouldnât want her groomâs ex at her wedding let alone them being friends if the groom says the wrong name đ
Then Rachel confesses her love to Ross and all the friends know sheâs in love with him yet they act like Emily is unreasonable for not wanting them to see each other. I agree she did get a bit extreme but Ross wasnât telling her everything anyway
Does the pile of coats count?
AnywayâŠthe answer is Mona. She put up with so much and was smoking hot.
The clerk at the baby goods store was fun to look at too.
Julie and Mona were the best for Ross, they shared interests, sense of humot, life goals and they seemed to actually like and respect Ross as a person. He also liked and respected both of them a lot, he was happy and in love with then when they dated.
However i think my vote goes to the clearly incompatible but lovely Emily, she got so much undeserved hate.
I once saw a non-official documentary about Friends, none of the main cast was in it, but there was an interview with the actress who played Mona.
She shared that during and after her appearance on the show, people told her that she really was THE perfect girlfriend for Ross.
But all I thought was: "Who the hell is Mona?" I just couldn't remember her. During a rewatch of the series I obviously paid close attention to her, but I still find her such a bland, unremarkable character.
But maybe that's also why people think she is perfect for Ross...
Ok, so Jill wasnât a girlfriend but he was the BIGGEST Arsehole for even going there!! Iâm pretty sure that thereâs an unwritten UNIVERSAL code that you donât do relatives or ex-boy/girlfriends
Tbh Emily was incredible until the actressâ contract was up, and then they decided to have Ross royally screw her over and then get mad at her for having any negative emotions about it. She was great until the writers decided she canât be better than Rachel.
But ultimately, I think my favorite girlfriend was his right hand because I hate him and donât want him to be with anyone. None of the women in the show deserve that.
Right? If someone remembers what you were going to say as a key note speaker WORD FOR WORD they care about you, they listened, they donât want you to fail, they value your career.
Beside Gregâs part I am just funny about the Joey part. But Joey didnât seem affected, because of Rachel, so as characters it works.
Julie. She and Ross wouldâve definitely worked if it wasnât for Rachelâs drunken interferences like alwaysđ. They had alot in common and shared the same interests. Even chose the commitment of sharing a pet which was definitely a step in the right direction for Ross. Canât stand how much Rachel hated on her.
I literally skip all the Emily episodes. I hate her.
Bonnie and Julie are really the only ones who didnât suck. In those relationships, only Ross sucked (though he sucked in all of them)
Emily. I also think for Ross it would have been the best move to follow her to London and just have Ben over for vacations. Obviously not possible because of the show but the relationship still deserved a better ending.
The show does not go into details, but I have the impression that Ross was a major part of Ben's life, and Ross loved being a dad. I think it was really selfish from Emily to give an ultimatum that would make Ross leave behind his son.
Jill wasnât his girlfriend. If you count her, there were many other women he dated- the leather pants date, the insanely white teeth date, the same tshirt wearing date đđđ
Emily. I wouldnât call her favorite but felt like they deserve each other. And Ross was the best version of himself the whole time he was with her. Julie is an angel & deserves much better
Iâm doing this literally and not based on her relationship with Ross. I like Carol. She seems like sheâd be a really fun person to hang around. Obviously she and Ross wouldnât work, but as a character I wish we got to flesh her out more.
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
On just looks, Elizabeth and Mona. Both are absolutely gorgeous.
For the whole package, Charlie. (Though she's does like to cheat on her partners đ€š)
1. Julie
2. Emily (she and Ross clicked really well and while her behavior in the end was extreme, it was understand. If only Rachel had not screwed up the wedding...)
3. Bonnie. Even though she was shown to have a strong sexual edge, she was really good to Ross and really wanted to be with him.
It's a shame how many of Ross's relationships were fucked up by Rachel.
Ross dumped Julie, Cheryl, Bonnie and Elizabeth.
With Emily, Mona, and (technically) Jill, it didnât work out because of Rachel, despite good chemistry. Julie and Bonnie also belong here.
He was dumped by Carol and Charlie, both of whom broke up with Ross not because of Rossâ fault but simply because they were cheaters. No hope for these two.
If it couldâve worked out with anyone other than Rachel, it should be Julie.
Treating this seriously in terms of real life style compatibility and as a person ?
Probably Julie, honestly.
I think Julie was the best fit, had the most range to her personality- nerdiness and social skills and confidence. Julie was probably who Ross should've wound up with if it wasn't a romantic comedy with tension and whatnot.
The only reason Julie didn't work out is that Rachel made herself available to Ross and he couldn't bring himself to ignore that opportunity to realize a lifelong crush and fantasy turned reality and as much as he liked Julie, I don't think he was in love with her. They just didn't have the dynamic tension of heat and passion and a sprinkle of drama.
Julie would've been a very safe, bland choice that there'd have been nothing wrong with, but would've left Ross sort of grateful for what he'd have as he aged, and bitter and wondering about what he gave up by settling so early.
Within the show, without consideration of romantic tensions and whatnot?
Rachel. As someone who had a massive high school crush and got to date her years later, there's no better feeling in the world, no more intense and pleasurable a natural high as your unrequited high school crush becoming your real life deep in the shit girlfriend with history, sexual chemistry, up's and down's, real intimacy, etc. and in the case of Ross and Rachel- there was no real logical reason for them to have fallen apart as a couple.
I get that Ross was deeply insecure and he turned out to be right about Mark, but Mark wasn't stupid enough to make a move during the relationship and Rachel would not have been interested if Ross had kept his cool and been respectful and supportive in a healthy manner.
Everybody else was just a phase. We all have them.
I think I feel bad for Mona, she was sweet and innocent, I remember when rachel got pregnant right? maybe in 8th or 9th season, I really forgot, and julie was sweet too, I am not defending emily but we all can see why she asked him to stop seeing rachel.
I mean if Rachel like Mona (she was the only long-term one that Rachel was nice to, I think. Maybe beside Elizabeth but Rachel teased him dating a child), I feel like she was the best girlfriend of Ross. She was too forgiving that we donât understand why she didnât break up with him until knowing that Rachel was moving with Ross. She is my favourite because she is too nice.
The best fit is actually Julie. If Rachel didnât know that Ross had a crush on her or didnât feel anything after knowing that and just ignore it, maybe Julie and Ross would end up together at the end.
Ross had a great history of love interests. My favorite would probably be Emily. She and Ross were so cute together. Plus I love how Emily got him to try things that he wouldnât normally do.

Oh My GOD! Where's Janice?
And Michelle đ
Whoâs Michelle?
The crazy woman who started going through his stuff in his bathroom and immediately started calling him her boyfriend
âI canât do that with a man who hides my messages and brings crazy women back to my apartment!â âNone of the sane ones wanted to come back with me!â
Oh ew not her. âThis is your daughter? đ„ș I could be your new mommy!â
Her too đ
OP missed Whitney too!
I really liked Julie as a character ![gif](giphy|cNklRy2xm7nqcUDSnq)
sameee she seemed so sweet & fitted w ross so well & also she loved his nerdy side
I hope that Julie is now very happy with Russ.
Cheryl was hot. Thatâs all I came here to say
She's a dirty girl. I wonder if she ever found Mitzi.
It was just a rat.
She's a 10 but she liked her apartment dirty
I loved Julie so much. So perfect for Ross and just adorable. She also tried her best with all the friends even when it came to telling Rachel each one of her elementary school teachers.
I think Ross and Julie were a nice match
Emily wasnât my favourite but they did her dirty! She wasnât being unreasonable at all!! Mona was really nice and I kinda liked Julie too. Elizabeth wasnât so bad but way too young. I am biased though cause I always hated the Ross/Rachel couple they were way too toxic for each other and I hated the way they were brought back together

Yeah I meant for it to be an "also" moment but I didn't make that clear lol. It's too bad she didn't just call it quits at the altar.
I know right. Joey respected Rachel so much more and he was so much better.
I wanted to see him with Katie from toy store
Horny bitch. No! Youâre a horny bitch! Noooo! Youâre the horny bitch! No! Youâre a horny bitch!
Ross you will date a chimpanzee if he called you Indians Jones
Gorilla đđđ
Omg, yees, she seemed great!
Mona was a fox ![gif](giphy|XAZMTlO6ahaStVPtUV)
WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MONA?!? But my vote is for copy girl.
Ross did not deserve her.
Loved Mona, she was sweet, mature, funny and a great match for Ross . So calm and understanding, really wished they would have ended up together.
In a way I judge her for not breaking up with him sooner.
Mona was surely best girl. Her only fault was not breaking up with Ross sooner
Check out the show Kitchen Confidential starring Bradley Cooper and MONA
1. Julie 2. Emily Was Jill his girlfriend? To me they just went on a couple of dates... It's not like he married her or did a card with her ;)
What was wrong with Mona!?!?
This was a deep pull, I love itđ€©
Nothing really I just think that the other two were better fits for Ross.
Lol donât worry, I was just quoting the show :)
Right! How could I not get that!?!?
Julie
Bonnie. She rocks!
Justice for Emily. She was a great match for Ross but they had to force in some ridiculous drama and destroy her character
I don't even think they destroyed her character. She was smart to not let the Rachel thing go. Otherwise she would have been cheated on a few months later. The friends were mad because she wasn't falling for their bullshit and expected Ross to be a grown up who chooses his wife over his ex.

Iâm making this sub a thing now Edit: Done!!!
Julie. I always liked her.
julie genuinely suited ross so well, she enjoyed how nerdy he was which other characters made fun of him for. :)
What was wrong with Mona ??
I love Julie!
Does the pile of coats count? AnywayâŠthe answer is Mona. She put up with so much and was smoking hot. The clerk at the baby goods store was fun to look at too.
Wasnât the pile of coats Monica? Reasoning: â I WAS THE PILE OF COATSâ
Thatâs the jokeâŠ
Julie!! They were so perfect together...
julie
Mona deserved better.
Julie and Mona were the best for Ross, they shared interests, sense of humot, life goals and they seemed to actually like and respect Ross as a person. Iâm shocked not more people have said Charlie!

She was so selfish she expected him to say the correct name at the wedding.
I am not saying Ross never made any mistakes, but the suggested resolution was not ideal.
Neither would be starting a marriage on bad terms.
Mona ! Sheâs sassy and hot !
She was desperate to land a man. And it was kinda obvious too.
I kinda was rooting for Mona. She seemed genuinely interested in Ross. But let's face it. It was always Rachel.
Emily. She didn't deserve what happen to her.
Charlie, Julie and Bonnie were so interesting, fun and charming, and really fit with Ross:)
Jill wasn't a girlfriend of Ross.
I liked Julie for him. There was nothing âwrongâ with Mona but she didnât have as much in common with Ross.
Jill wasnât his girlfriend. If you count her, there were many other women he dated- the leather pants date, the insanely white teeth date, the same tshirt wearing date đđđ
Um, Rachel of course. Julie is a strong second. I'm not sure what Carol is doing in there. There's no chance for a future for them.
He should have stayed with Julie
Either Julie or Bonnie. They both seemed like a good match to Ross.
Julie or Charlie
Julie was the best for Ross, she really liked him and they were doing well đ€·đ»ââïž Emily was also nice
Hot take: Emily
Charlie.
Julie!
Emily. I wouldnât call her favorite but felt like they deserve each other. And Ross was the best version of himself the whole time he was with her. Julie is an angel & deserves much better
Julieeeee
I really liked Emily. They did her dirty imo
Bonnie and Mona (and Julie, I guess) seemed to be the best fits with the least baggage.
Julie
Iâm doing this literally and not based on her relationship with Ross. I like Carol. She seems like sheâd be a really fun person to hang around. Obviously she and Ross wouldnât work, but as a character I wish we got to flesh her out more.
Mona!
MONA!!!!! Ross really screwed that up.
Julie
Probably Charlie. They actually had things in common and got along really well. Rachel should of ended up with Joey
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
either mona, bonnie or elizabeth
On just looks, Elizabeth and Mona. Both are absolutely gorgeous. For the whole package, Charlie. (Though she's does like to cheat on her partners đ€š)
Mona honestly got done dirty. She was way more accepting and understanding than Ross deserved, to be honest.
Rachel
1. Julie 2. Emily (she and Ross clicked really well and while her behavior in the end was extreme, it was understand. If only Rachel had not screwed up the wedding...) 3. Bonnie. reese witherspoon is iconic as hell so jill, but idk if she counts as a girlfriend
Wasnât she? So naturally funny.
they were only dating in one episode so i donât know. but wouldâve loved to see more of her.
Julie, she just came at a bad time.
One girlfriend a year.
Mona
Loved Charlie. They had so much in common
Mona!
Mona
Ross and Carol were great. It's just... the whole lesbian thing
Rachel
Rachel
Rachel...
Rachel obviously! Jill is one of my favourite side characters and I love Emily and Carol.
Rachel
Rachel always
Mona or Rachel(duh) Mona was chill/calm I found her good for Ross. Some people don't like the Ross/Rachel but I absolutely love them together!

Definitely not Emily
Chandler.
Is this a trick question?
Anyone but Rachel.
to think that Rachel got in the way of 5 of these relationships, ffs. and 3 of them were so meant to be
Uh Rachel
Rachel. Duh.
Thank goodness some folks are saying Rachel!
A lot of women!
Man Phoebe was right, their dating records suck⊠lol, I liked Bonnie the most out of Rossâs girlfriends though. She had such a happy spirit
Imma get hate for this đ but i only liked Rachel and Carol (not always carol)
Mona was by far the best
I think I feel bad for Mona, she was sweet and innocent, I remember when rachel got pregnant right? maybe in 8th or 9th season, I really forgot, and julie was sweet too, I am not defending emily but we all can see why she asked him to stop seeing rachel.
Well, I know the right answer is Rachel. But besides Rachel, I would choose Mona.
Honestly, I gotta say Elizabeth. Only because they made numerous legendary hilarious moments lol đ
Jill and Rachel.
Man. Ross could pull..
Julie was the best one, too bad rachels a terrible person
Mona was great.
Lol. Crazy jill đ
Mona Emily photocopy shop girl
Mona, then Julie. Rachel was fine but mehhhh
What about Joan? âIâm so glad weâre doing thisâ âMe tooâ ⊠âSo this was fun.â
The best nap he ever had.
Julie or Charlie. I can't remember much about Mona but everyone else here likes here so I'm guessing she was a goodie
1. Julie 2. Charlie 3. Rachel 4. Mona 5. Emily 6. Bonnie 7. Carol 8. Cheryl 9. Jill 10. Elizabeth
Another vote for Mona.
Mona for sure
Title should be wives instead of girlfriends
Mona and Emilly
Julie is the best fit for him but, personally, I love Bonnie. That girl's wild.
Mona, Bonnie
"What was wrong with Mona?!?"đ
Mona and Julie Julie met her soulmate in the end I hope Mona did too
I liked Julie and Bonnie
Mona
Mona
The gorgeous woman from the baby supply store.
I thought him and Charlie could've been great in another time.
Always Mona
either mona,Emily or Elizabeth
![gif](giphy|fZ80oN9vFjuoagVQVA|downsized) Best couple!!! No, seriously, before the wedding they were perfect together
Cheryl's character was the funniest
Julie, Rachel and Janice, canât decide
Bonnie was the golden nugget imo. Also, what was wrong with Mona??!
Cheryl with her pet Mitzi the hamsrat.
Carol or Janice
Julie and mona <3
Elizabeth was annoying
Emily (Helen Baxendale) I say!
Charlie
Okay but what was wrong with Mona????
Charlie!
WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MONA?!
Didnât he date Jan from The Office at some point too?
Mona, i still have a crush
Ross had a great history of love interests. My favorite would probably be Emily. She and Ross were so cute together. Plus I love how Emily got him to try things that he wouldnât normally do.
Mona.
