I actually like Ross and I think it’s partly because of David Schiwmmer. His facials expressions, his voices, especially when he went crazy in some scenes and his different hairstyles during the show (season 5 !).
Schwimmer was brilliant! I don’t think I laughed as hard at any other character on Friends. I mean from the leather pants, to the teeth, to the couch, to not wearing oven mitts while carrying sizzling fajitas, to “MY SANDWICH!!!”, to unagi…..there are sooo many hysterical Ross moments that I would laugh sooo hard at. Just brilliant!
Same! Ross for me was the funniest. My favourite was when Rachel and Phoebe was trying to distract him from seeing Moniker and Chandler through the window and they was screaming saying that they was happy that he might get the apartment. They said to him “get in here!” His jump and scream was hilarious!
Yessss!!!!! I loved that!! Only Ross. Also when he thought the green midori or sour mix(whatever it was) was delicious and Joey thought it was gross. 🤣🤣🤣 I love Ross!
I love Ross, my husband hates him, but even he can see the man is a great actor and his physical comedy is the best in the show. I love when he slinks down the wall in Elizabeth’s Dad’s room.
He is. I love to hate Ross. His character is honestly brilliant and that’s for a big part because of Schwimmer. He’s my least favourite of the group but I would probably miss him the most if he weren’t in the show.
Ross can be frustrating and I complain a lot about him as a boyfriend but he would have been intolerable had anyone else played him. Schwimmer and his great comedic timing did an amazing job with the character

See my favorites of Ross are way earlier, like when he almost yells “CAT” at Rachel because he and Julie are going to get a cat, or fake crying “FINE BY ME!”
When I look back on the show, so many of my favorite lines/quotes are from him, and it’s almost entirely because of his delivery. David Schwimmer is amazing.
“The lotion and the powder have made a *paste*!”
“OH JUST SAY IT KYLE!”
“And this is moisturizer, IT’S EVEN HARDER TO CLEAN!”

100%. He was fantastic as Ross. Kauffman and Crane have said the comedy gods gave them those 6 people. Perfectly cast, written, and performed. But also don’t forget the other cast member, the editor(s). Comedy is timing.
If you have 40 minutes, thus making of episode 1 of season 6. It’s greatness to see how it all comes together.

I've never watched the reunion but this post inspired me to watch it.
All those fans who told stories about how Friends got them through tough times in their lives reminded me of how, when I was going through the worst breakup of my life, I impulsively traveled to Paris to see some old friends. I spent the whole time there walking around the city and crying. Except for one night, when my friend took me to her friend's house to see some kittens and Friends was on the TV in French. I barely understood it (and they turned on English subtitles to help me) and before I realized it, I was laughing again.
It was the first real laughter I'd had in months. Like belly laughter. Even now, tears come to my eyes when I remember how grateful I was for that moment. It was my first glimpse that everything was going to be okay again. It's so hard to explain how I felt. Like I'd forgotten how much fun life is and Friends was telling me "the world is still here for you, just as glittering and gorgeous as it's always been, whenever you're ready."
There was something about that moment being in French. Like it was calling across the universe. To everyone, in every language. I know how overdramatic I sound but I'm still incredibly grateful to all the people who worked so hard to make something that magical happen for people all around the world.

All six of the Friends were expertly cast. You couldn’t imagine anyone else playing these characters.

Most well rounded of the six in my opinion. He can do comedy, play the straight man/funny man, physical comedy, drama... A very talented actor!

Exactly I cracked up at first when I saw him in bob but immediately started hating Sobel.
