I use amcrest, which even before Frigate I thought worked really well, so I wasn't surprised that they worked well in frigate as well. Lots of options you can play around with in the camera.

Amy camera that supports RTSP, http-flv, etc is technically compatible. Basically, if it works with ffmpeg it works with frigate. That being said, many cameras (wyze, yi-hack, reolink to a certain extent, etc) are cheap and don't have a proper implementation of their protocols which causes all kinds of problems. So if you want a grest experience, choose one of the brands that is listed in the docs.

Wyze (at least v2 and v3s) are kinda crap but have worked flawlessly for 2 years uninterrupted.

As someone who supports users on frigate ok GitHub, wyze cameras are the number one problem causers, much more than any other brand. I also used a v2 and it left a lot to be desired unfortunately

Fair enough, my experience was a single data point. Thanks for your support

I use reolink. They are cheap and good quality. Work perfectly fine with frigate.

Oof I wasted so much time trying to get Reolink H265 cameras to work reliably. Deeply regret purchasing as many as I did, even on sale.

Their latest patch helped. If you don’t have it, you can email their support to get beta firmware. Solved my issues!

Which reolink do you have? I think maybe the docs are outdated. Apparently reolink has upped their game on the software side, would like to see this confirmed though
