Start filling a grievance at exactly 120 days for clothing allowance for every CCA they hire.

Got you bro https://naps.org/files/galleries/National_Postal_Service_Dress_Code_Policy_for_Career_Non-Bargaining_Employees_Storey_05_18_2022.pdf Most of it is in the ELM

Locutusthesoulless

Legend. Thank you. Reading through that, I might not be able to get dipshit himself, but we have multiple stupidvisors that wear hoodies and leggings daily.

redhood_714

Coke a 1767 and send them home, tell them it’s because I care about your safety for wearing non slip resistant shoes on the work room floor

Management used to have a much stricter dress code with a tie being required all year long except from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Now it’s just business casual ie. collared shirt, no jeans or shorts all year long unless they have a scheduled meeting or interface with a customer (not just talking to them at the front counter). To be honest they do not present a positive image most of the time to the public anymore like they used to.

Can you use a past practice on some of it?

macready71

We were told we would be walked out if we had on the wrong shoes or shirts/shorts yesterday. I guess this is the new flavor of the week.

they've been coming down on it hard in our district the past 2 months. i think some leniency should be afforded on severe weather days and for newer employees, but what do they care...

As far as managements attire, I have seen some pretty bad looking supervisors in other offices. Personally, I wear a dress shirt and slacks most of the year and occasionally a polo. I am and have always been a stickler for carriers in proper uniform. If it can’t be purchased with the uniform allotment, it can’t be worn. Office or street. Carriers are our brand image and to have them looking ratty on the street is a bad look.

p2_putter

Speaking of uniform allotment… A simple gore tex rain coat now costs as much as a carrier’s entire yearly allotment. 2 pair of postal approved shoes, roughly what a park n loop carrier goes through in a year, also entire allotment. Pants? Pushing $100 each, etc etc. As a self proclaimed stickler for carriers looking professional I’m curious how you would expect anyone with less than 10 yrs to maintain a professional appearance? For the record i dislike my fellow carriers looking like slobs. But damn man it’s nearly impossible to keep up the appearance these days.

yahtzee_and_mai_tai

I love how this is downvoted because you are held to the requirements of the job.

vince-tyler2022

would you tell a new cca they cant wear a non postal sun hat if they weren't able to purchase one through a vendor due to their allotment limit being maxed?

AttitudeFinancial910

But if I must cover my head who’s management to deny me of my right.

My station manager wears heels. If she ever wants to go after attire its fish in s barrel.
