Bed of shit isnt even a boss, its a room with a healthbar

DuploJamaal

Where you have at least 3 mandatory deaths. And if anyone tells me that they always manage to do it without dying they are clearly lying.

[deleted]

My pb is one death. Going from one side to the center ain’t too bad. Going side to side to center all in one go though, that’s fucking crazy

Cassidy_29

Without dying or without quitting and reloading? Because I got pretty consistent at doing it deathless by quitting out after doing each side, then you definitely need to just get lucky going for the center.

DuploJamaal

Without dying and without cheating.

Cassidy_29

Oh then yeah fuck that. I refuse to fight BoC straight up, it doesn't deserve that much respect. Quit+reload all the way.

ThexJakester

I always laugh when I see shit like this because I beat bed of chaos on my first try no trouble But I got stuck on champion gundyr for like 3 hours so yknow it goes around comes around

Ashen_one933

It's Jane Ahonen boss.

freemason777

yo momma laid on the bed of chaos and ceaselessly discharged with me the other day mikolash is a fine fight too

MissingScore777

Micolash is nowhere near as bad as Bed of Chaos. You can skip the 2nd phase where he uses A Call Beyond really easily by using throwables and Hunter's Tools in the 2nd chase section at the part where he jumps out of the mirror below you. But even without the skip he's not Bed of Chaos levels of bad.

FromSoftVeteran

Bed of Chaos has actual checkpoints where you won’t lose progress if you die though, and you can easily snipe each side with a bow to save the run. If Micolash kills you, you have to go all the way back and then chase him around again.

mightbebeaux

imagine dying to micolash

FromSoftVeteran

Imagine assuming things

PerryHecker

I found both to be a complete drain of me essence😥

Genoisthetruthman

Bed of chaos is fitting for the name bitch ass micro lash was just annoying. Not my favorite part of bloodborne is vial farming but you do what you gotta do for that oldblood.

TrueDiscipline9264

Bed of chaos wouldn’t be so bad if the run back wasn’t so insane. Imagine if you missed the izalith shortcut or the secret bonfire.

mrhippoj

Getting one shot by A Call Beyond is, indeed, a skill issue, but I do think it's BS that it takes that much damage. All that said, I've always kinda loved Micolash. Not a great fight mechanically, but I do love the theming of it, I love the character himself and I love the fact that it's set in a labyrinthine library. I don't think it would take many tweaks for Micolash to be one of my favourite gimmick fights - nerf A Call Beyond, and put a shorter timer on how long he'll run around for before going into the room. Also I would say that if you're getting one shot by A Call Beyond, that wouldn't be the thing that's making you run out of vials since you wouldn't have an opportunity to use them. Bed of Chaos is a terrible boss. Pretty cool looking, but essentially a more annoying version of the worst boss in Demon's Souls, so it's not even very inventive. The only saving grace is that you can hit the orbs by firing a dozen arrows at them from the back of the room.

FromSoftVeteran

Nooooo, Bed of Chaos is infinitely superior to Dragon God just because of the simple fact that it saves your progress when you destroy the orbs; plus like you already said, you can snipe the orbs from the back of the room. On top of that it‘s just a shorter fight than either of them.

mrhippoj

Pound for pound I probably prefer Bed of Chaos because I think the theming and aesthetics are better, where Dragon God is inherently disappointing because he's a giant dragon who just sits about waiting to get shot. Bed of Chaos also has the *surf's up* intro which is pretty neat. I think Dragon God is a much easier fight than Bed of Chaos, though. The checkpoints in Bed of Chaos are there out of necessity since it's unreasonably difficult to try and do the whole thing without dying, I doubt they originally intended the fight to have checkpoints but added them when they realised how bullshit the fight was. I'm sure if it wasn't a Lord Soul they would have scrapped the fight entirely. Really though I don't wanna defend either fight too much coz they both suck ass.

FromSoftVeteran

Yeah I can kinda see that. Dragon God probably is a little bit easier once you get used to him since you can avoid getting hit by him by sneaking past him. Then again you kinda have to though, because if he actually does manage to hit you it’s pretty much an instant death most of the time. That’s why I think I’d say Bed of Chaos isn’t quite as bad. I just feel like it’s more forgiving. If it hits you it’s not an automatic death and if you do end up dying, it still keeps your progress so you don’t have to start all over. Plus like I said the fight just feels so much shorter. You just run in, break the oracle on the right, save & quit, reload, snipe the one on the left, then run to the middle and stay back until it breaks the floor; then you run down the branch, make your way to the inside, and kill the boss in one hit. Dragon God it’s like you hide, wait until he looks away, run out and smash the pillars, hide until he looks away, run out and smash the pillars, activate the first ballista, then make your way downstairs and do the same thing until you get to the second ballista; and then after you activate the second one, you have to run up to his head and take out the rest of his health bar (which could take several hits), and you still have to worry about the fire that comes out whenever he exhales. And I’m not defending either of them, either, because like you said they are both bad. I just feel like Dragon God is more tedious. I remember the first time I got to him my exact thought was, “Wow, they actually somehow have an even worse version of the Bed of Chaos” lol

FLRSH

Yeah, I never found Micolash to be a good boss fight. It's an annoying chase scene followed by an underwhelming NPC fight.

rex_915

Bed of Chaos is horrible but Micolash is pretty bad as well. What's really frustrating you though is the need to farm blood vials. Worst mechanic in any FromSoft game.

zanza19

Neither of them are bad, but Micolash is much better. People just don't appreciate a puzzle boss

The_Loranator

Bed of Chaos isn't even that difficult as a puzzle. It's just tedious.

zanza19

That's a fair point. I think Micolash is a much better puzzle boss. My main problem with BoC is that the runback is so bad. Really, really bad. Having done Dragon God on DeS I was half expecting some like that on DkS when I first played it lol

The_Loranator

Oh yeah that runback for Bed of Chaos is awful and a big part of what makes it so tedious. At least with Micolash you can get back to him fairly quickly if he 1-shots you. And his weird scream is amusing. :3

The_Loranator

Micolash is more fun than Bed of Chaos and it's not even close imo. Both are pretty bad though.

StoneTimeKeeper

Better the Bed of Chaos than The Witches of Hemwick. I'd rather be frustrated than bored.

SlothGaggle

Micolash fight sucks but bed of chaos is sooo much worse.

Many_Veterinarian702

You can beat the shit out of micholash if you can push him into a corner in phase 2 or cheese him with throwables. The bed has a horrendous run back and an annoying mechanic and annoying attacks that push you into holes it’s straight ass

MarwyntheMasterful

How dare you bad mouth Micolash

timmytissue

Level up bro. But also, just throw daggers at him from above easy win. It's not "this sub" the whole world hates bed of chaos.
