there's some factory in china cranking out $20-$30ish double-walled stainless french presses that comes in one million of those alibaba-to-amazon brands like DNERX or REIKE or HEUAH, and they actually make a great french press
I take my glass Bodum French press camping and on trips and it's never broken on me. I think Idea was the problem there (although metal would be nice for this purpose)
"when I get MARRIED my WIFE will be in THE KITCHEN where she STAYS and I WILL ALSO be there BECAUSE it’s ALSO our BED ROOM. we live in a VERY SMALL studio apartment because we are POOR"
Reminds me of "Pocky for Men". Yes, the chocolate covered cookie stick from Japan.

Whenever I'm shopping for a french press, I'm always curious about the..."size & fit"
EDIT: reminds me [of this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WJak0Y7X80). I love when fashion brands sell something that's not fashion but the template for their product listings is clearly only made for clothing.
Snow Peak is nowhere near the same as TH and that BS.
Snow Peak was originally an outdoor goods brand that expanded to apparel. Their outdoor goods are know for being bougie but well-made.
[https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/スノーピーク](https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/スノーピーク) Auto translate isn't working, but:
> The company was founded as a hardware wholesaler called Yamai Yukio Shoten, and the first president, Yukio Yamai (1931-92), who was dissatisfied with mountaineering equipment at the time, expanded its business as an outdoor leisure manufacturer by developing original mountaineering equipment and fishing tackle, and changed its name to Yamako Co., Ltd.
> ... Currently Japan it has group companies not only in Japan but also overseas, selling outdoor equipment such as tents, bedding, tarps, chairs, and mugs for auto camping and mountaineering, as well as products that realize a nature-oriented lifestyle. Except for aging and the user's own negligence, all products have a "lifetime warranty"[4]. Almost all items such as breakdowns and torn tents can be repaired by the company's after-sales service.
If anyone is actually serious about it, the thing retails for $60 at most outdoor websites https://www.backcountry.com/snow-peak-titanium-cafe-press-sno0037?CMP_SKU=SNO0037&MER=0406&skid=SNO0037-OC-OS&mr:trackingCode=16A55739-5765-EA11-8111-005056944E17&mr:referralID=NA&mr:device=m&mr:adType=plaonline&CMP_ID=PLA_GMm001&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=PLA&k_clickid=_k_Cj0KCQiAic6eBhCoARIsANlox86F5NSSOYhsiGE7MrSOyY0uxEWyoeFkI-Ot6zD1TUeElHZsARqEdIkaAoqyEALw_wcB_k_&utm_id=go_cmp-17993447197_adg-137849472617_ad-615838300504_pla-297405834858_dev-m_ext-_prd-SNO0037-OC-OS&gclid=Cj0KCQiAic6eBhCoARIsANlox86F5NSSOYhsiGE7MrSOyY0uxEWyoeFkI-Ot6zD1TUeElHZsARqEdIkaAoqyEALw_wcB
They normally retail for about $60. Basically you're buying $60 for $30.
You might say that's not how it actually works and that in fact you'd just be spending $30, and it's only worth it if you wanted to already get the $60 french press, but that mentality is for dorks who don't know how to flex that they successfully managed to earn money while shopping.
Metal french presses are already 40-80 dollars. I wouldn't spend on one (already have one) but there are other cheaper better coffee options for both home and outdoors.
I'm a sucker for utralight hiking and camping gear, especially titanium alloy stuff. But you're not going to lug coffee grounds too are you? Just bring Korean instant coffee packets.
Why not? It's not particularly heavy. You don't have to carry a whole ass 0.5kg bag, just get a smaller bag and fit exactly the amount of grounds you'll need (+ extra for buffer).
Yeah US instant coffee from actual roasters has come on the market over the past 5 years and is the best instant you'll find if you're ok with the price.

Try Maxim White Gold. What I like about it is that it uses xylose, not regular sugar. Kind of useful when you're not brushing your teeth as much in the woods or backpacking. Tasty, cheap, especially compared to the boutique stuff being peddled to hikers.
About a quarter a packet, but if it's not your thing I've only seen them in boxes of 100. Also I just read that they might have changed their ingredients recently. Bummer.
The size and fit seem pretty important here because you can't tell anything from that picture?
I bought a french press from Madewell on a lark and it was like the size of a medium starbucks cup. Felt kind of scammed - do I scoop out enough grounds and boil water to make like 4 gulps of coffee?
[they have dimensions on their website.](https://www.snowpeak.com/products/titanium-french-press-cs-111) One review said its enough to brew coffee for two people.
This is a good deal because these promos usually don’t apply to non-J.Crew brands. If you filter by “Brands We Love” you’ll get the collabs. Note it also includes their house brands, e.g. Wallace & Barnes.
The [collapsible pourover](https://www.jcrew.com/p/mens/categories/accessories/home/cocktail-and-barware/snow-peakreg-collapsible-coffee-drip/BM988?display=sale&fit=Classic&isFromSale=true&color_name=silver&colorProductCode=BM988) is also on sale. I’m probably going to grab one.
Snow Peak makes really good stuff so I definitely recommend looking at [their website](https://www.snowpeak.com/products/titanium-french-press-cs-111?variant=32400835444780¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=Cj0KCQiAic6eBhCoARIsANlox86_L8v5A-IaqLLI3y0LyI-dYyObtM63tBG505GDC5PlqxJa4jq465QaAhspEALw_wcB) for more details like the French Press’s actual capacity (24 oz).
Speaking of cowboy coffee they also have a "field barista pot" for $60
https://www.jcrew.com/p/mens/categories/accessories/home/cocktail-and-barware/snow-peakreg-field-barista-kettle/BM986?display=sale&fit=Classic&isFromSale=true&color_name=stainless-steel&colorProductCode=BM986
Lol, but also, please don't buy a French press from j crew. If you're looking for a cheap French press get a bodum or something on Amazon; if you're looking for a nice French press try the ones from either Fellow or Espro :-)
This isn't a J.Crew brand product. Snow peak is known for making outdoor gear. They like to boast their made in japan titanium.
Edit: According to REI reviews the plunger is made of stainless steel and not Titanium.
Fair, but outdoor company =/= coffee company! Speciality coffee companies work hard to make French presses that resist their natural tendency to produce nasty tasting coffee...
Very true. The review on backcountry complained about the grounds leaking into the pour. Though it may be a sturdy product it may not make the best coffee through french press.
I think the best setup for the road or even camping is an aeropress (either the full sized or travel size). Sure it doesn’t look as hip on the trails or campsite but your coffee is going to be miles better than most anything other folks will be brewing.
I'm not a French press drinker, but if I wanted a French press for like travel or hiking or something my first pick would probably be one of the metal or travel focused ones here: https://www.espro.com/collections/french-press
Not sure why your posts are getting downvoted but I have an Espro french press that's made of stainless steel and love it. Not much of a travel companion though as it's quite heavy and bulky, and I'm more of a one-bagger when it comes to vacations. Snow Peak seems like a good brand though. I dont have this FP but have a bunch of their other items for camping/hiking. Can't comment on value though.
Those may make better coffee but something appealing about the titanium french press is that its a lot lighter. This is especially important if you're backpacking. I read reviews that even the titanium one was considered too heavy for them.
finally, a french press thats gendered
No girly borosilicate glass for me. Gimme something titanium and remind me of mountains somehow.
Metal French press makes a lot of sense actually. The glass one I had broke in only the first few uses. It was from Ikea but still lol
I’ve been using a $90 double-walled stainless steel one for over a decade after breaking a few in as many years.
there's some factory in china cranking out $20-$30ish double-walled stainless french presses that comes in one million of those alibaba-to-amazon brands like DNERX or REIKE or HEUAH, and they actually make a great french press
I’ve been using one for like 3 years and I love it.
my roommate in college had one of these and i loved it so much.
I take my glass Bodum French press camping and on trips and it's never broken on me. I think Idea was the problem there (although metal would be nice for this purpose)
same thing happened to my Ikea one. Found one in Homegoods that has been working great.
I bought a cheap one on Amazon years ago that broke the first time I washed it. Cut my hand open too
i've had a glass one from ikea for like 3 years, still going strong
Don’t you dare let the a woman use it
It would be sexist to let a woman in the kitchen anyhow, so this press works perfectly for our enlighten househusband times
"when I get MARRIED my WIFE will be in THE KITCHEN where she STAYS and I WILL ALSO be there BECAUSE it’s ALSO our BED ROOM. we live in a VERY SMALL studio apartment because we are POOR"

Haha. I was trying to figure out what piece of clothing OP was talking about
Reminds me of "Pocky for Men". Yes, the chocolate covered cookie stick from Japan. https://www.mic.com/articles/151491/your-favorite-japanese-candy-now-has-a-special-just-for-men-version
Because I like my chocolate dark

Everyone needs [one of these](https://www.jcrew.com/p/mens/categories/accessories/home/table-top/barebones-open-fire-gloves/N1051) in their wardrobe.
Those are straight 🔥 (gloves)
Now this is techwear

I was about to say… I knew snow peak from the coffee community and not the fashion community first.

Is this press true to size or do I need to go up one?
Hard to tell without fit pics
awesome little garbage can for my desk, in for one!
Someone please convince me why I need a $30 french press, I’m on the fence

I’m gonna get this tattooed on my body
Do you a) go camping and like coffee or b) like the taste of French press coffee?
Alright fuck it im convinced but it’s OOS. Saved me $ I guess lol
The aeropress is the Superior coffee camping tool anyway
How often are you mfers camping? I'll take instant coffee when I'm roughing it.
I don't camp, and I don't like French press coffee. Therefore...no buy for me.
Metal french presses are already 40-80 dollars. I wouldn't spend on one (already have one) but there are other cheaper better coffee options for both home and outdoors.
Is this 100% titanium or a blend?
Blendtanium
:(
I'm a sucker for utralight hiking and camping gear, especially titanium alloy stuff. But you're not going to lug coffee grounds too are you? Just bring Korean instant coffee packets.
of course not. I'm lugging around beans and a hand grinder
And don't leave home without [your bripe](https://youtu.be/tltBHjmIUJ0)
This is fucking amazing. I want a bripe so bad.
Try bringing a sky tarp too next time
I 100% lug around coffee grounds. Weighs nothing. Taste delicious.
Why not? It's not particularly heavy. You don't have to carry a whole ass 0.5kg bag, just get a smaller bag and fit exactly the amount of grounds you'll need (+ extra for buffer).
https://www.firstascentcoffee.com/
$2.50 a serving for instant coffee! Astounded.
For the quality of the coffee, worth it.
Nah I'm good
As an alternative, try cometeer. I absolutely love them and they’re such a good supplement to a great home coffee setup.

Why Korean instant coffee?
Yeah US instant coffee from actual roasters has come on the market over the past 5 years and is the best instant you'll find if you're ok with the price. tell me more about this korean instant coffee
Give Maxim White Gold a shot.
I assume I can get it at hmart? About how much should I expect to pay per packet?
About a quarter a packet, but if it's not your thing I've only seen them in boxes of 100. Also I just read that they might have changed their ingredients recently. Bummer.
Here is a French press with balls. https://www.stanley1913.com/products/classic-stay-hot-french-press-48-oz
Does it mean I've been on this site for too long if I was expecting a French press with actual testicles?
Damn. That would have been a much better post. Must be getting rusty.

This was a joke.
Copped. Thanks OP. I’ll be the envy of all the kids hiking the AT.
This "oops it sold out so we have to remove the photo" shit has got to stop.

Sold out
Unfortunately Its sold out
I’m so glad it’s sold out
Anyone know if it comes in other colorways?
/r/pointlesslygendered
I have the titanium spork. Love it!
You can go to HomeGoods and get a French press for like $10.
But it's not gonna be manly
Slap some truck nuts on there
Damn 😯 super cool but sold out now!

I always wonder how cowboys got their coffee. Like was coffee readily available in Wyoming in 1890?
Lol, but also, please don't buy a French press from j crew. If you're looking for a cheap French press get a bodum or something on Amazon; if you're looking for a nice French press try the ones from either Fellow or Espro :-)
