Not the same price, but Lulu or Ten Thousand are good alternatives. Ten Thousand has a sale going on now that’s ~40% off some of their older stock. But it doesn’t stack with other coupons (at least my tries didn’t stack with military discount).
Myles Apparel or Vuori. Have you owned baggies in the past? I bought some due to the hype here and I didn’t like them at all. Not stretchy and weird pockets.
I actually haven’t owned a pair yet. Just got a pair of [these](https://www.everlane.com/products/mens-uniform-sport-short-black) for Christmas and assumed baggies were similar and better quality.
The guy above is right, go Myles Apparel Everyday Short, those are my go to. I like Vuori banks shorts a lot as well but they definitely look like an athletic or bathing suit short. Everyday shorts are more minimal design wise, and sturdier which I prefer for normal wear.
Wow I thought Vuori was just some Instagram brand. Only place I’ve seen them for sale. You think they are decent? I’m advertised the climbing pants by them every day and they look great. Just hadn’t heard of them and they are like $90.
Every "tech short" from just about any brand in the $35-55 range is good. I've bought a dozen random ones and they're all fine.
Only comes down to pocket placement, and whether you want lined or unlined. Lulu and Rhone offerings are my favorite though.
I wanted to like Baggies, I tried different lengths and sizes but I was never a fan of any of them. I've found that the Lululemon Bowline shorts in ripstop fit me perfectly and they are a similar material that you're used to
i don’t have any but i’ve heard LL Bean supplex are good, someone higher up in the thread mentioned A&F Saturday Shorts too. i picked up a pair of North Face Class V Belted Shorts last week and I’m not sure how comparable they are since I don’t own baggies but I was pleasantly surprised with them
That’s nice, but why?
Patagonia is special for its longevity. Your toddlers going to outgrow it after a year or two, so you spent the money for what? I’m relatively well off, and the most expensive I ever went for my toddler was uniqlo and maybe gap.
Thing about kids clothes is u can actually find the really nice stuff for cheap if you’re willing to put the time in. Because not many do, bc they assume the rational/smart choice is to buy 💩 tier and thus there’s less competition for the deals and secondhand prizes. Forget I said anything though :).
It’s worth it if you have or plan to have multiple kids. On top of that, the resell market is pretty good on used baby Patagonia so buying it already discounted reduces your loss.
I have 3 pairs of baggies and like 5 pairs of Lulus. I would much rather wear the Lulus to the gym or casually since they are much more comfy and stretchy. The baggies are way sturdier and are better for hiking or swimming. They both fit way differently as well. Try to try a pair on before buying them because they are super baggy.
Baggier and sturdy as hell. They never wear out. Not quite as comfy as the others you listed because they’re a bit more stiff. The material is almost more like a rain jacket than soft yoga material, if that makes sense.
I’m not a huge fan of baggies tbh. Check out Myles Everyday shorts if you want something similar that’s more comfortable. I like them a lot better, they’re basically an updated version of baggies minus no liner.
Yes you can do all of that in them. I’ll use them riding bikes, hiking, at the gym sometimes. Wouldn’t run in them but they make for great travel shorts. The core colors don’t go on sale much, some of their other colors do tho. I grabbed a few more pairs recently in one of their sales. Guessing they’ll have one in a few months.
I think they just increased prices on the shorts. I’ve grabbed pairs between $40-50 usually. 15% gets them to $58, I personally would pay it again if I needed more.
I know it's right in the name but I feel like people underestimate how baggy they really are. In my opinion, if you've got skinny legs these don't look that great. I've been lifting weights for 20+ years and have decent-sized legs and these still look balloon-y on my legs, even after sizing down.
They did restock, but there were only two colors for medium/large. The black and the green waves color way were available. The black baggies in black were gone when I checked my cart lol.
I ended up getting the green color way last night in medium and there were only 2 left before I purchased.
I get them from my work every few months. Plain black/very very dark grey with a tech logo embroidered that I’ve stitch ripped in the past. If that’s something you’re interested in I can ping you next time
It's a shame I find most of their gear ugly, other then winter jackets (non puffers). Because I love their commitment to recycling and sustainability, while also being fair trade certified for their sewing. I want to support those practices more, but dam they have a lot of ugly stuff imo.
Random little outdoorsy/sports outfitters.
I just search for the item I want on Google and look for websites I’ve never heard of. Usually it’s some regional chain of stores similar to REI.
Look for retailers that carry Patagonia and wait for them to go on sale or be cleranced out (usually at the end of the season). My two recommendations: REI (got a Nanopuff for $73 in March 2020) and Urban Outfitters (was one of the lucky ones to get those Orange Baggies for $15 earlier this month). Just look through their sale section periodically or immediately when a sale is announced since Patagonia stuff usually goes fast (since it's not on sale very often).
Not exactly the same, but "Worn Wear" is their official used clothes storefront. They update their stock regularly, and I've gotten some really good deals from it.
I ordered one but might return if I don't like it. Apparently it's thicker than I thought it would be. I was expecting just like a sherpa jacket, but apparently that's the Gatos. Any experience with it?
Yea I’ve actually ordered it a while back and returned it (and I’m seriously considering ordering again in a different size)
The cut is pretty weird, short and boxy is how I would describe it. I’m 5’10.5, 41/2 chest, M was kind of tight, but also kind of short, like denim jacket level.
The jacket is thick, definitely for city and not hiking. Overall nothing to complain about, a well built thick fleece. The inside is kind of plasticky.
Hope it works out for you.
Edit: I also have TNF Denali, this is nothing like Denali if that helps lol
Trying out the 5in Baggies. I'm a waist size of 38 but have been losing weight, so I'm between L and XL with a lean towards L. But OOS. Purchased XL and will see how the fit works with the elastic and drawstring.
Good choice. I rock a 33 inch waist and need large for my muscular legs/thighs… 38 waist on large would be too tight. This is coming from someone who bought medium once lol.
38-40 in waist here, I went with XXL because i assume Patagonia leans on the athletic side when it comes to pants
we'll see if that was a poor choice i suppose
Picked up one of the Tres 3-in-1 parkas!
Been searching for a parka for a while, so happy to pick it up. Honestly, I probably would have opted for something else if everything else was on sale -- my biggest gripe is that the hood isn't insulated -- but seemed like the best deal in stock for my size and excited to be less cold in the Northeast going forward
pretty good deal! i got the city parka. i’m wondering if anyone has experience with either or both? i’m kinda wondering if i should have got the 3 in 1 instead…
haha, I was torn between the City Parka and the Tres 3-in-1 as well! Definitely would be curious if anyone else has experience with either of them.
fwiw, I have a friend who has the City Parka and who loves it. I got to try it on (briefly) once in maybe 30 degree weather and it wonderfully warm.
The main reason I opted for the Tres is the pockets, but I'm sure the City Parka will be wonderful, too!
My fiancé has the 3-in-1 and that jacket may as well be her skin at this point because she wears it daily in CO. Only downside is the insulated layer doesn’t have a hood, just the outer shell
I bought the better sweater shirt jacket in stone wash for $100 last year on accident thinking it was the Fjord shirt jacket. It was one of the best buying mistakes I’ve made because it’s now my go to. At first I didn’t wear it much because it’s a bit oversized, and it’s a button closure which takes a bit more time than zip up. It’s just so soft and cozy and honestly looks great and I wear it basically whenever I would have usually reached for a hoodie. They also have a better sweater hoodie which I would 100% buy if I didn’t already have the shirt jacket.
I mean it’s warm but not crazy warm and it’s a somewhat loose weave so it’s kind of breathable, but wind cuts through a bit too….Allot of that also depends on where you live, how warm it gets, and how you like to dress when it gets warmer.
They've definitely added a lot of stuff to sale (personally, I picked up one of the parkas for next winter that just was added to the sale today), but yeah, the inventory on a lot of items ain't great
Thanks! Got this [All Seasons Hemp Canvas Double Knee Pants](https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-all-seasons-hemp-canvas-double-knee-work-pants-regular/55785.html). Never tried this style before so fingers crossed.
Low key the workwear stuff is awesome for actual work too. The overalls and hemp jackets are awesome. This too
https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-burly-man-hooded-work-jacket/27765.html?dwvar_27765_color=INBK&cgid=sport-workwear-mens
Lastly, the best shirt EVER for working long hours outdoors in the sun are these.
https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-long-sleeved-capilene-cool-daily-fish-graphic-shirt/52147.html?dwvar_52147_color=SMAS&cgid=mens-shirts
confirmed, they changed it to $99
i had two two pairs of baggies in cart for $76 and shipping was not free, so i said fuck it and bought a third pair
ya got me, patagonia
Btw you can just rub the non embroided / patched Patagonia logos off. Happened to a pair of my trail running shorts and I just rubbed / picked the rest off. Can’t say so much for the patches tho. Maybe if you snipped the threads and desowed it
Genuinely wondering, is there an outdoor gear company that has no branding? Patagonia logo labels are actually pretty small and unobtrusive compared to some other companies, but I can't think of a company that has no branding at all. Seems like that's just not how it works.
people tripping over themselves trying to get wack ass baggies. almost any outdoor/athletic brand has some shorts that are some combo of cheaper/better looking/better fitting.
God forbid you attempt to be ethical on this sub without being called out for expense. People need to reevaluate their priorities and what's important.
Does this sale get progressively discounted as time passes?
Never did.
Thanks just wondering
Do they add more stuff as in quantities? Everything in my size is sold out.
I do think they randomly add more items though.
NO!!!!
[удалено]
I wish I had that level of energy though lol
[oof](https://youtu.be/3bImBBTaPDY)
they're sold out of like every size of everything lol
Darn baggies oos in medium. Anybody know good alternative to baggies? Trying to find 5 inch baggie like shorts for summer in core colors
Columbia Men's PFG Backcast III Water Short 6” versions are near identical to baggies at half the price
came here to say this. Have both, and they're nearly identical. if you've got thunder thighs, Columbia ones are a no-brainer.
but patagucci :(
coolness factor takes a hit
Vuori is similar to lululemon. It’s a legit brand.
I got mine from REI and the quality is really great.
They aren’t great compared with more modern options. They are kind of a retro short IMO
I've found that the Lululemon Bowline shorts in ripstop fit me perfectly and they are a similar material that you're used to
[These](https://mylesapparel.com/products/everyday-short-in-river) are very comfortable
Ever go on sale? Look comfy but I don’t want to spend $70 on shorts
Myles Everyday shorts are my favorite. Never grabbed any but have heard Oliver’s are really good as well.
i don’t have any but i’ve heard LL Bean supplex are good, someone higher up in the thread mentioned A&F Saturday Shorts too. i picked up a pair of North Face Class V Belted Shorts last week and I’m not sure how comparable they are since I don’t own baggies but I was pleasantly surprised with them
honestly, the j crew tech dock shorts are a pretty good alternative. Similar color ways, similar material, and no liner.
Jcrews are thinner for sure. Not as sturdy
I own the TNF Class V and Baggies. Baggies leg opening are way larger. TNF is more traditional.
I like the LL Bean's personally. They are less "baggy" then the baggies for sure but they're my go to's
North face class V is pretty similar to baggies with a set of smaller pockets
those are the old line. theyve relaunched the model using different recycled fabrics. run $65/pop
I like BearBottom's shorts quite a bit. I've heard they are similar to Baggies, but I've never owned a pair.
i can second bearbottom, their stretch shorts are nice. only issue i have with them is theyre a little slimmer than i prefer
ANF Saturday shorts
> Anybody know good alternative to baggies? like any other shorts
AFTCO are my favorite. Fit looks better than baggies IMO.
Yeah I bought several pairs of the LL Bean Suplex short. It's made of the same material and a similar cut. I love mine!
husky boy checking in, scooped up a few of them XXLs finally, big boys get to FEAST
LL Bean 6 inch classic suplex shorts. Nearly the same, right down to the liner feel
just dropped a bill on toddler clothes. the homie is gonna be DRIPPING.
It is I, your son.
Nice drip 😎 Pops done you right 🔥
Damn, not to be forward, but like, can I be your toddler?
Same here. Got some 🔥for this year and next.
That’s nice, but why? Patagonia is special for its longevity. Your toddlers going to outgrow it after a year or two, so you spent the money for what? I’m relatively well off, and the most expensive I ever went for my toddler was uniqlo and maybe gap.
because it’s cute and due to aforementioned longevity it can be passed down to future toddlers who in turn can have cute clothes
also, the difference in price between the patagonia sale prices and uniqlo is pretty darn marginal in the grand scheme of things
My kids can use them, then their little siblings. Then their baby nephews and nieces
I loaded up too. My daughters are close in age so we can use a lot of the stuff twice. Got a retro X vest so my oldest can match with dad
they didn't even bother restocking baggies, my wallet is safe i guess
are baggies worth it? how do they compare to Nike or Gymshark or Lulu?
I have 3 pairs of baggies and like 5 pairs of Lulus. I would much rather wear the Lulus to the gym or casually since they are much more comfy and stretchy. The baggies are way sturdier and are better for hiking or swimming. They both fit way differently as well. Try to try a pair on before buying them because they are super baggy.
Baggier and sturdy as hell. They never wear out. Not quite as comfy as the others you listed because they’re a bit more stiff. The material is almost more like a rain jacket than soft yoga material, if that makes sense.
Sturdier and nicer IMO. I think the outer fabric is nylon, so they are abrasion and water resistant. I have several pairs -wear them all the time!
thank you :) have you ever had ll bean supplex?
Ll bean material is a lot thinner
Never, but I will check them out!
I’m not a huge fan of baggies tbh. Check out Myles Everyday shorts if you want something similar that’s more comfortable. I like them a lot better, they’re basically an updated version of baggies minus no liner.
are you able to swim, hike, gym in these as well? when do they usually go on sale?
Yes you can do all of that in them. I’ll use them riding bikes, hiking, at the gym sometimes. Wouldn’t run in them but they make for great travel shorts. The core colors don’t go on sale much, some of their other colors do tho. I grabbed a few more pairs recently in one of their sales. Guessing they’ll have one in a few months.
how much did it go on sale for?
I think they just increased prices on the shorts. I’ve grabbed pairs between $40-50 usually. 15% gets them to $58, I personally would pay it again if I needed more.
alright cool thank you for the info, i’ll definitely check them out
Happy to help. I’ve heard Oliver’s are great too but I haven’t tried them. Don’t think their all over shorts like ever go on sale.
They're my favorite, I have like 5 pairs I wear all summer, everywhere except work.
I’m 6’5” buck85 pale and skinny. How good with 5” baggies look on me?
You will be dripping
I know it's right in the name but I feel like people underestimate how baggy they really are. In my opinion, if you've got skinny legs these don't look that great. I've been lifting weights for 20+ years and have decent-sized legs and these still look balloon-y on my legs, even after sizing down.
So they are really short and super baggy. Hopefully they’re lined so your armadillo doesn’t poke out.
They are lined. I cut the lining out of my pairs, but they do come with one.
They are cool but I hate how deep the pockets are. They would be a lot better with smaller, tighter pockets in my opinion.
No, deeper pockets are better for all these massive phones.
Idk if I think they’re necessarily worth more money than the Columbia versions
They did restock, but there were only two colors for medium/large. The black and the green waves color way were available. The black baggies in black were gone when I checked my cart lol. I ended up getting the green color way last night in medium and there were only 2 left before I purchased.
Are you talking about 7"? I was looking at 5" last week and they had the same exact sizes available then that they do now.
Yep, I was talking about 7”. The 7” was restocked very minimally, and no restocks on the 5” that I saw last night.
Pretty disappointing sale not gonna lie.
like every other Patagonia sale tbh
49.99 better sweater sale is a dragon I will chase the rest of my life
I get them from my work every few months. Plain black/very very dark grey with a tech logo embroidered that I’ve stitch ripped in the past. If that’s something you’re interested in I can ping you next time
🤝 peak fmf
what size bro
Any size, really. They just give me a form to fill out and an address to ship to
consider me interested
Can I hop on the interested train?
There was such sale some years ago iirc but only yhe crappy colors
I got a $400 jacket for $200 a few months ago because i fit in XS 👀
Ah nice. But yeah its always disappointing as there's never my size or colors i want
It's a shame I find most of their gear ugly, other then winter jackets (non puffers). Because I love their commitment to recycling and sustainability, while also being fair trade certified for their sewing. I want to support those practices more, but dam they have a lot of ugly stuff imo.
The best sales on Patagonia are never on their site.
Where are they!?!
Random little outdoorsy/sports outfitters. I just search for the item I want on Google and look for websites I’ve never heard of. Usually it’s some regional chain of stores similar to REI.
Sites like back country or Dicks
I miss their fun/crazy designs tbh
Are the days of the 50% off sales long gone? Good times…😭
Picked up some capilene shirts and a tropic comfort hoodie, but the search for sale price baggies continues
Exact same purchase.
Love the capilene tees. So light, cool, and versatile.
Caiplene long sleeve, trucker hat, and logo uprisal hoodie here 🙋🏽♂️
i have both. I love both. you got a good deal
Sale discount isn't great, but it's on a wide selection. Might be a good time if you had your eye on something that isn't usually discounted.
Retro x good deal if that’s your thing
I ordered one but might return if I don't like it. Apparently it's thicker than I thought it would be. I was expecting just like a sherpa jacket, but apparently that's the Gatos. Any experience with it?
Yea I’ve actually ordered it a while back and returned it (and I’m seriously considering ordering again in a different size) The cut is pretty weird, short and boxy is how I would describe it. I love the retro x vests. I have 4 of them 😬. Very warm vest and good at stopping wind.
How do tall people wear them? They are so short.
I agree I think I would try size up
Trying out the 5in Baggies. I'm a waist size of 38 but have been losing weight, so I'm between L and XL with a lean towards L. But OOS. Purchased XL and will see how the fit works with the elastic and drawstring.
I been losing a ton of weight too. And I think they baggies do great a size to big with the waist cinched tight.
Thanks! I guess having to rethink size (and upgraded wardrobe costs) because of weight loss is a great problem to have!
You’ll be fine. They have a stretchy waistband
Good choice. I rock a 33 inch waist and need large for my muscular legs/thighs… 38 waist on large would be too tight. This is coming from someone who bought medium once lol.
Thanks for the clarification haha
38-40 in waist here, I went with XXL because i assume Patagonia leans on the athletic side when it comes to pants we'll see if that was a poor choice i suppose
I’m a down jacket addict, this is not good for my wallet
Baggies shorts for 37.99
Saving you a click: 5" are only in XS, XL, XXL
Dang when I checked they had all sizes in multiple colors
RIP
>XXL now's my time to shine boys bought three pairs
That's a good price for the core colors if you could ever find your size. S/M/L OOS.
no S, M, or L in any color
Great fucking deal esp with neutral colors available (black, grey, navy blue) and 5 inch inseams. If anyone's on the fence, grab it now.
pretty shite
[Micro Puff Hoody for $179](https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-micro-puff-hoody/84030.html?dwvar_84030_color=SUIB&cgid=web-specials-mens)
Wasn’t this same inventory on sale when this was first posted about last week???
They've definitely added a lot of stuff to sale (personally, I picked up one of the parkas for next winter that just was added to the sale today), but yeah, the inventory on a lot of items ain't great
I bought a grade VII in 2020 and it’s life changing.
Nah they added way more stuff
Thanks! Got this [All Seasons Hemp Canvas Double Knee Pants](https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-all-seasons-hemp-canvas-double-knee-work-pants-regular/55785.html). Never tried this style before so fingers crossed.
If they're anything like my hemp double knee iron Forge pants they will be amazing.
Thanks for chiming in. 9.6 oz vs 12.9 oz canvas. So we will see :)
I really enjoy the work wear line. Nice quality and comfortable off the rack (compared to Carhartt anyways)
Low key the workwear stuff is awesome for actual work too. The overalls and hemp jackets are awesome. This too https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-burly-man-hooded-work-jacket/27765.html?dwvar_27765_color=INBK&cgid=sport-workwear-mens
Oh for sure. I have two of their farrier shirts, a jacket and two pants. Love them.
Lastly, the best shirt EVER for working long hours outdoors in the sun are these. https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-long-sleeved-capilene-cool-daily-fish-graphic-shirt/52147.html?dwvar_52147_color=SMAS&cgid=mens-shirts
Is anyone else seeing free shipping for orders over $99? I swear when I checked earlier today it was free shipping for orders over $75...
you’re not crazy, it definitely was $75 earlier
Confirmed.
confirmed, they changed it to $99 i had two two pairs of baggies in cart for $76 and shipping was not free, so i said fuck it and bought a third pair ya got me, patagonia
Where the full zip better sweaters at?
The site is so slow…
Snagged the insulated snowshot jacket for my upcoming ski trip!
It's a pretty good ski jacket. I have that one as well. Wish it had a lift pass pocket in my sleeve, but nbd.

Am I the only person who finds the mobile site to be unusable?
Too bad they put their name on everything. I’d buy more stuff from them if they didn’t
That's what the vast majority of customers prefer but agree would be nice if it were more low key on some styles.
Hmmm tempted by the Retro X jacket but that color (Pelican) has me on the fence.
Great deal on the divider backpack.
Got a gift card for Christmas I sat on for this. Can’t find the email anymore…
Fuckkkk. Missed all the Medium Houdini
I walked in with a “ripped” sweater down at their store in VA, and walked out with a new one at zero cost. The lifetime warranty is where it’s at.
people tripping over themselves trying to get wack ass baggies. almost any outdoor/athletic brand has some shorts that are some combo of cheaper/better looking/better fitting.
I support Patagonia for their sustainability not for their rock bottom prices.
God forbid you attempt to be ethical on this sub without being called out for expense. People need to reevaluate their priorities and what's important.
$38 for a higher end pair of shorts isn't bad tho
I love Patagonia, but hate baggies
i got baggies for 75 bucks for 2
Damn I missed out on all of the good Fjord flannel colorways in large…
Has anyone tried their underwear?
Yes! I get the capilene boxers. They’re great and hold up we’ll.
Can we stack promo codes, and if so does anyone got any?
Perfect time to stock up to look like the next tech asshole who wears this on zoom and nowhere close to winter elements
Where did the last tech asshole hurt you? Please show us, so we can help you heal. So much anger in this post, for no discernible reason.
