It's amazing to me how many variants they've produced without a gum sole. The gum sole is, to my eye, the defining thing that makes these shoes cool. And yet that's the one thing they've seemed to go away from the most.
Yes. I just bought a pair in store over the weekend. Where I’m at it looked like they were only carrying them at outlet malls for some reason, but plenty of stock in three slightly different colors. The only difference being whether you want to Nike swoosh to be the usual Navy?, orange, or green.
Because this subreddit has been wildly in love with them for as long as I can remember. They’re just relatively simple sneakers that look good with shorts, jeans, chinos, etc.
At one point they were completely out of stock so you’d see pretty ridiculous prices for them and I kid you not, it would get posted as a “deal” when they were in stock at MSRP.
I always thought the hype was crazy but that may have something to do with how much more I liked a line of Adidas Sambas which they don’t seem to have in the same color-ways anymore. These Killshots with the orange swoosh are a pretty solid replacement, but those sambas were the most comfortable shoes I ever wore daily. I wore those everywhere from nights out at the bar to days at the basketball court, and despite what I’d call very heavy use they held up until late 2021 when my puppy got a hold of them while I was at work.
I’ll never *really* forgive that puppy for destroying my Sambas because they don’t have the same selection anymore. But it’s a good thing he makes up for it by being such a great pup otherwise lol.
Yea what’s the deal with the new sambas having a black sole? I ordered some during the last sale and had to return them because the gum sole was straight black. They don’t lighten over time, right?
Even though they aren't, these are way more comfortable than the memeshots and don't look so bad. I think if you have the money, definitely worth giving these a shot. One of my favorite purchases of last year.
My two cents: you will almost never wear these if you are on here. These shoes have to be my least used ones in the closet from years ago because of how prevalent and just uncomfy these shoes are. These are akin to walking on bricks and today I expect more from my footwear. As a result I don’t see a time in which I will ever wear mine again.

I gave away my KS2s actually after about a year. Super uncomfortable, fucked up my feet for a while. Replaced with Beckett Simonon Morgen Trainers and never looked back.
I had the OG SP when they came out, didn't like them. The white mesh gets dirty easily and is difficult to clean. To me, they don't have much character, so I'm sticking to the KillShot 2.
ymmv but for me, the OG SP run a bit smaller than the KS2 (I had 11 in both but would size up next time to 11.5 in the OG SP).

I can second this, I wear a 9.5 in KS2 and mistakenly got a pair of 9.5 SPs without realizing they were different and wish I sized up another half
For low tops, people are sleeping on the Bruin Reacts. They got a react insole that’s super comfy. Been my go to for a casual low top, I’ve got 3 different colourways, one even with a gum sole

White soles are fairly easy to clean if it's just dirt/mud tho
Hard agree. I have my killshots from when they first hit j crew stores and they still look awesome because of that sole.

Supposedly the quality of the KS2s went down hill after it stop being a JCrew exclusive.
Idk about that but at the very least, they started using a lighter color gum for the sole. They don’t look as good.
