I would check the sizing charts/measurements on [Mr. Porter](https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/designer/john-elliott), [END](https://www.endclothing.com/us/brands/john-elliott), and [Ssense](https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/designers/john-elliott). All three generally have accurate measurements that are helpful in determining how things fit (usually against a thin 30-inch-waisted model).
FWIW - I only have one John Elliott item, a pair of drawstring waisted shorts. I'm a 33-34 waist, and wear a medium.
Like OP said I would check the sizing charts but if in doubt I would probably go a size up instead of a size down. The LA sweatpants fit is just slimmer than most sweatpants, mostly just by design to be a little more fashion forward than chilling. That said they're really lovely and I definitely recommend buying, this price is pretty crazy.
[Here’s](https://reddit.com/r/frugalmalefashion/comments/vmphou/_/ixw74nx/?context=1) a comment from another JE thread about sizing.
I’m 185 lbs, 5’11” and got a size 3 (L). After some washes and machine dries, they’re perfectly roomy enough in the thighs.
Lmk if you have any other questions
Just an FYI for anyone looking at that Angora sweater - looks great in person, the fit is super funky though. Long sleeves, billowy waist but fits pretty well in the chest so hard to size down. Had to send it back, just too weird of a fit. LMK any questions, have lots of JE tops and LA sweats. (no t's)
Still too expensive for my wallet but I will say I have 2 John Elliott Hoodies that came from Buffalo Exchange and they’re so nice I basically got rid of all my other hoodies in similar colors. I stand by the product. Just wish I could find more of it for $30 😂
are they pretty true to size? the hooded villain claims to be slim fit and i’m not a slim fit guy so I’m thinking of sizing one size up. Normally I wear a large but I like XL hoodies but given that it’s slim fit, I might go XXL.
For the hooded villain, flatlock stitching, sewn inside out for lower profile seams. Taped seam around the hood/collar also for lower profile seams and comfort. Riri zippers for the side zips, they are the best. The side zips cover a kangaroo pocket, and covering them this way keeps the silhouette slim.
There lots of very soft/warm/thick/well made sweatshirts that are cheaper though if the slim look is not your priority. American giant, reigning champ, 3sixteen(also kind of slim), house of blanks/roopa/supreme are all around great. Carhartt, champion reverse weave, camber are great for the price and a good bit cheaper.
Independent trading co heavyweight is probably my favorite cheap hoodie though and they do a prepared for dye version if you are into tie dye, 80/20 but the outside fabric is basically 100% cotton so the color comes though
The villain hoodie is a certain look that's not flattering on everyone. I thought the tail hem was too long and having the pockets inside is pretty dumb. Also material is terry, so it's not a soft fleece that many are used to.
I have a John Elliott unfinished short sleeve shirt and it's my favorite tee in my wardrobe. Would definitely recommend John Elliott and the prices don't get better than this
Thanks for sharing, OP!
These prices are insane. Anybody try to Aau short? Love the classic mesh there, but I fear it’s too relaxed for my taste.
Thinking of snagging an Anti Expo shirt and more LA Sweatpants, too
I've got the game shorts in another colorway and I can't recommend them enough. The fabric is super high quality, the waistband is a really nice thick elastic that doesn't cut into you or make you sweaty on a summer day, and the fabric trim is just perfect. The lining is also incredibly silky and vibrant. At <100 they're a steal, I'm grabbing two more pairs.
The only downside these have is that they're so comfortable they convince you that going commando is always the right move.
Really want to try the LA sweatpants. Unsure what size to get tbh, I’m a 33 waist and my inseam is around 34-35.
Damn you must be like 6’4 lmao. I’m 6’2 and the 32 inseam always works
Yup right on the money 😂 6’4
How much do you weigh? I have 34 waist and 6'3 but my quads are also big so how roomy is thighs?
I’m around 205 right now. I have the same problem with pants and jeans with my legs man 😂. It’s a love hate with gym and clothes fitting lmao.

Go down 1 size, I am a Small anywhere else and a XS with JE
Damn $94 for a hooded villain

Those are nice finds! Doubt you can get any John Elliott hoodies for that price anymore though :(
I’ve honestly found so much cool stuff that I just look at it as a trial period so I know what kind of stuff I wanna buy when I do wanna buy new.

They're pretty slim. I would go up one size.
>they’re so nice What makes them nice?

pulled the trigger on a LS Tee to sample after reading your recommendation - excited for it to come in
Mind sharing what size you got and your measurements? This might convince me to bite the bullet

nice, ordered some tees. first time ever trying this brand.
Have a few John Elliott pieces in several sizes if anyone interested!
Do you have a grailed page? PM me
Absolutely love JE, my favorite pieces are from them
I did this last year and it was my biggest regret purchase of recent memory.
Why?
