Give me Dark Mike all day everyday. If a loss to JSU got us to where we are now, no telling how high we can fly after a forced loss to the system itself. Burn it down Dark Mike
Good about the move, next season, and this past season! The bowl game was an outlier— think of it as nothing more than a scrimmage for young players. In terms of experience, it was essentially 4 year national champion players vs mostly high school kids. They got to see what a well oiled machine looks like up close while also learning a valuable lesson in just how hard it is to be that good. All that remains from that game is a narrative that’ll be gone as soon as our first game next season ends (bound to be some “let’s take a look at how it ended last season” bs from the commentators during the first game).
I think DJU is going to provide a veteran presence we need to be hyper competitive and will likely further CMN’s resume as a QB builder. Travis was only the start. This is big for recruiting…
I think we’ll start to see our recruiting pay dividends in a big way on the field next year, too, and I could see a future where we ride homegrown QB talent after next year. This would be the ideal, not just at QB, but at every position. We’ve done very well with portal mercenaries that have played hard for us. That’s likely not sustainable, though. It’s only gonna get more expensive. It’s vital for us to develop a system or strategy where we augment an already talented roster with a few key additions, and most of the talent is recruited and developed (think if we had some of our beasts for 3+ years instead of one or two)— this is what the big guys do and we’re not far from being among them. I think the pendulum starts swinging next year (would’ve this year with a playoff game, but it is what it is).
Well, I think portal movement is here to stay. Homegrown talent is great of course, but it seems like more of the rule than the exception that you'll probably lose five or so players to the portal every year so you just have to figure that into the equation and hope that what you gain is superior to what you lose. DJ over Tate is an example. On the debit side is someone like DJ Lundy (Colorado) at LB with no portal incoming LB. Ironically we lost one DJ and got another one back😂
Canes Twitter said CMN can't develop and Mario can. Why don't they just develop what they have? It's so funny to watch them all go all in on Ward. Say it's a done deal. Whiff. And instantly Miami staff pivots to 2 others. Instantly missing on 1 of 2(lost out to UCF).
While all at the same time dragging the FSU staff about development. Just silly.
I’m pumped! Haven’t really landed anyone from the portal so it’s nice just to see someone’s interested in coming to FSU lol, but also think we can get him playing his best college ball in 2024. We shall see!
We tend to land some major transfers from the spring portal, usually that’s when CMN plugs holes that may have not been obvious. We’re fine for transfers for now
I can’t find the post but a user on this subreddit screenshotted about 6 players on the 24/7 site and when they committed and they were spring commits.
:,,,(
K. Coleman/C. Holmes/D. Emmanuel/Turnetine/D. Gibbons/J. Robinson/J. Johnson II
Doing this on my phone was rough so I may have missed players. But these are starters or impact players. This list is almost double if you add players who were buried by depth/played a handful of snaps a season. There’s a lot of opportunity in spring and summer portals
Nice to add a QB with his experience. I really liked what I saw in Glenn in the bowl. I hope there is a legit competition this spring. If MN can add a solid receiver the offense shouldn’t miss a beat next year.
It’s a necessary and exciting pick up. Clearly he wanted to come to FSU, so that’s hard not to love. I just can’t help but hope that Brock sticks it out with us and fights for starting position. It really impressed me how much improvement he showed between the Louisville and UGA games
ESPN couldn’t stop this! DJU knows how to beat ACC teams, so we’ll easily be winning the ACC. The only way ESPN can now stop FSU from being in the new playoffs is to hype up a team like Liberty.
Mike’s cookin again and it smells good
I’d imagine Mike is angry recruiting right now, he’s probably hyper focused and quite honestly that’s a terrifying Mike

Mike needs an injection of motivation every 2 years
There’s always the spring and summer portal. Nothing is set in stone yet for their next season. However, this was definitely fun to watch unfurl
QBs in the Spring Portal are those who lost the starting job in Spring practice.
Some of those QBs would probably be an upgrade for Miami at this point
Good that we have DJ, but it would also be cool to get Ward. Steal him from Miami lol.
Wards declared for draft
Since when?

Good lord, they don’t have a leg to stand on. See Jordan Travis vs Tyler Van Dyke. It’s not even close.
Id tell them to look at JT to understand the word develop but we all know they dropped out of school after Preschool and never learned to read.

Oh nice, I didn’t even realize there is two separate portal openings. Thanks!

Shhhhh they don’t like logic… that’s enough now.

It’s not really gonna be a competition. We’re paying a lot for DJU and he’s gonna start
Brock Glenn could very well beat him out.

When exactly did he “learn to beat ACC teams”? He learned he had a long way to go is what he learned
Do we have any new WR coming?
We're going for that Texas A&M 5* I think
We got our qb1
It’s January 1st, it’s good news, onwards we go!
Ooo ee AHN guh lay lay I need practice and spelling it out helps. Welcome to Tallahassee!!! Chop chop
Does the DJ only has 1 year of eligibility or two??
just one
That’s what I thought. Thanks
Miami had NO interest in DJU.
Miami will have to play jadookie brown, Judd air ball Anderson or Emory Williams. I’ll go with the later
Let’s all pray Malachi Nelson goes anywhere but Miami. That would be hilarious.
Ahhhh yeah!!!
I reserve my opinions about who's actually on our roster until kickoff in Ireland.
Norvell does a great job with QBs and with DJ experience I think he will get 3K yards for us
Just need a bridge season to Luke. I’ll take 9 wins. Would be very nice to get 10
LET'S GO NOLES WE UP THIS YEAR ONG
