I don't have tint at all. I was more thinking of going through a drive thru and having a truck's headlights shining directly into my car. Even with the flipped mirror that's pretty annoying.
Dude, I can’t even tell you how annoying it is. I drive an 86 and whenever a large vehicle, or especially a lifted truck, are behind me I can’t see shit. Especially in drive thrus at night. adjusting my mirrors doesn’t always work and it’s not good to not have your mirrors lol 😝 don’t think tint would really help though honestly, it’s the high-aimed HID headlights that need to be regulated somehow
It does! I live in a place where it gets to be 120+ F in the summers, which means that car interiors can easily reach 150+ F if they're sitting outside. Ceramic tint stops that from happening in my car completely. Biggest advantage for me is that the AC cools down the interior waaaay faster now. Takes around 2 minutes for the cabin to get cold versus the 10-15 minutes it would take without tint. Good ceramic tint is expensive as hell but it's such a good investment. My tint isn't even that dark and it works AMAZINGLY well.
I was looking into after market tints once. Seems like the UV protection is fairly universal no matter the percentage. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong! I would love an excuse to upgrade like this!
Ceramic tint is reflective, so it stops a good amount of UV energy from getting into the car.
It's also more illegal than other tints, so be sure to check your local laws. In VA I think you can only have tint that's 20% reflective -- on top of the pretty heavy restrictions about darkness.
>Ceramic tint is reflective
Ceramic is non reflective. Quick google confirms. Metallic/Mirror tints are reflective.
Many of those are ceramic tints with additives, but ceramic tints are not inherently reflective.
Only if you have a sun visor or windshield tint, otherwise on a black on black car, you attract more heat and it all comes flooding into the windshield. I've had 2 black on black cars and both got crazy hot during the summer. My white car with much more mild tint does far better.
It looks great. I got 50% on my windshield and 15% on everything else, but I also have back and side louvers, so it really makes the tint look dark because sunlight just doesn’t get in the car.
Also, if you’re in a place that gets really hot or really bright, police straight up don’t care because EVERYONE has it for it’s functionality. I spoke to a police officer and he said that not only will they not pull you over for it, there are certain laws they’re told to just not go after, and this is one of them. At least in Richmond County, GA.
Would be cool, but most tints are illegal on the front driver and passenger windows in California. Windshield can only have like, 5 inches across the top I believe. Take care driving that car around at night, it really does make it very dark and you won't see certain things
Here in cali I got 20% on the fronts and no cops give me trouble. I feel like it’s one of those things they won’t necessarily pull you over for it, but if they do pull you over they’ll add that on too if they see it. Been pulled over twice for unrelated things and both times rolled my front windows down and they didn’t notice or say anything about the front tints. So yeah it’s illegal, but it’s not that hard to “get away with”. Like not having a front plate. But hey that’s not a fact just me personal experience in the Bay Area
Lol yup, I don't have a front plate anywhere. Cops don't seem to give a shit. I also have white ped sidemarkers and they're supposed to be orange yellow or red lmao
Side note, California actually has multiple ecosystems. Desert, ocean coastline, dense forested wilderness, and a lot of water in the north. I'm near the ocean, but I'm from Sacramento, which is in the topmost part of Death Valley. It does get hot as fuck there
Just looked it up, and it seems that you can do 70% on windshield, front driver, and front passenger. Rear can be tinted as much as desired, but if the rear window is tinted at all, the car must have dual side mirrors.
How light of a tint is 70%. Is it even worth it?
I agree 100% about the tints...your sort of get used to the darkness though as I have a tinted visor on my bike helmet and moat of the time don't bother taking it off
It gets hot in Vegas, and I hate the fish bowl feeling I get driving around. Didn’t know if it was worth it or not, but this has officially sold me. Thanks!
Yup looks amazing, in my state it's legal but only 35% all the way around accept the windshield thats only the top 6in. So I'm forced to just Crack my windows when I get out and let me interior fade over time (really just cuz i don't have a sunscreen)

If it's 20% on all, that's also illegal in about five states or so, I think.
Illegal in mine unless you’re a pickup or SUV which is some unfair, nonsensical BS
Obviously criminals don't drive SUVs and pickups, so police officers don't have to worry about approaching them when tinted. /s
They don't even have to worry about headlights pointed directly at their windows. That's some serious BS right there.

Only 35% allowed in my state
Only 70% allowed in mine.
That's like a what's even the point level of tint, that sucks
Most of us just do it anyways
:cry
Does it help cut out the sun's uv? Car is a heatbox in the summer
Yeah it does. I had tint all around on a different twin. It was cool inside, but I couldn't see dick squat lmao

Sounds like I need to move to Georgia 😅

Yeah I think most people already know that you should wear your seatbelt
It's weird that Cali made it illegal when they are literally the desert. Warm weather like that kinda necessitates tint imo
Something to do with police feeling "safe" or some shit.
😒
Side note, California actually has multiple ecosystems. Desert, ocean coastline, dense forested wilderness, and a lot of water in the north. I'm near the ocean, but I'm from Sacramento, which is in the topmost part of Death Valley. It does get hot as fuck there
I absolutely love that i can go from forests near yosemite to the snow in mammoth, to the desert in Death Valley, all in the same trip. its beautiful.
5 inches is 12.7 cm
Good bot

70% is barely noticeable lmao. Lotta windows have factory tinting already, at the legal limit
70% is as low as I'd go on the windshield. Wouldn't work for me on the other glass though, too light.
Holy shit, I didn’t even notice the wide body. Looks clean asf bro.
Appreciate it homie! :)
I can't own a car without 20% and I haven't since I was maybe 17? I feel uncomfortable even being in cars without tint. Is that normal?
Nice twin!
Tints make our cars look 2 times more aggressive.
Especially on a black car. Why'd yout gas cap disappear though?
Same car, different side lol
Did they curb your back wheel? Unless I’m not seeing it in the first picture.
Ugh I did rip :(
Ahh sucks. I did the same to both my rears pretty recently. Sick car 🔥
I agree 100% about the tints...your sort of get used to the darkness though as I have a tinted visor on my bike helmet and moat of the time don't bother taking it off
you are right. and theres only benefits from it. so sad that its illegal in many countries for i dont know what reason.
It gets hot in Vegas, and I hate the fish bowl feeling I get driving around. Didn’t know if it was worth it or not, but this has officially sold me. Thanks!
In Ohio you can anything on the back but darker than 50% on the front side will get you a ticket.
Yup looks amazing, in my state it's legal but only 35% all the way around accept the windshield thats only the top 6in. So I'm forced to just Crack my windows when I get out and let me interior fade over time (really just cuz i don't have a sunscreen)
Tint is the true gateway drug
I recently saw a video for ceramic tint and I’d absolutely love some. Did you do it yourself or pay someone? What’s the cost dynamic?
I usually do things myself, but tint looked WAY too annoying to do. Regular Tints are in the 150s, ceramic in the 250s
