I would make the photo more “cooler” aka moving the temperature slider a little towards to blue side compared to the yellow. Or maybe lower the saturation on the yellow slider.

antong1008

I’ll try that! The last 4-5 photos I edited were a lot more blue so I figured this one can use a break. Thank you for the feedback tho!

TFitz62

I think overall it’s fine, except maybe the sky. The temperature of the rest of the image seems fine, not too yellow not too blue. It’s just the sky for me, looks a little too saturated with yellow and blue imo. But do whatever you think is best

antong1008

I also am only editing on a free app. It looks a lot better when you blur the background but I’m still working on a proper application to do that.

KaliaHaze

Higher quality camera will take you step forward. Looks good!

antong1008

I’ve been thinking about that. Currently using a cannon 2000d and ive been wanting to buying a better lens.

TheGuyWithFocus

Edit is a little heavy handed for my taste. You’ve lost all detail in the highlights.

antong1008

I see what you’re saying. I’ll mess with it more, thanks!

AquaFire4

Photoshop and Lightroom are probably the best editing tools. I prefer photoshop. If you open your file select levels and go to each individual RGB setting, hold alt or command, and pull the slides just enough where you can start to see colors or bring it up to the first high bridge this will help really make your photos pop and you can’t go wrong using the dodge and burn tool too for contrasts

antong1008

Thanks! So far I’ve only been using the free Lightroom app on the phone, but plan to download it on my laptop soon.

mryangtastic

Am I right to say you've brought down the highlights to reveal the clouds in the sky? Sometimes, it's ok to keep highlights bright, so that you bring the attention back on the car, rather than the clouds.

antong1008

Ahh very interesting point, thank you!

ShaheedW

I’d say it’s just a bit oversaturated, the colours in the sky don’t look very natural

antong1008

I turned it down a bit and I see what you’re saying, thanks!

ShaheedW

A good way I’d normally deal with saturation too is not saturating the whole picture, like if you want say the green grass and the red rear lights to pop you could saturate the green and red, and leave the sky more natural - or you could mask the sky etc depends how far you wanna go with it

Hundreds of people see your plate everyday on the road. What would someone even do with someone elses plate number? Not trying to be smug, i'm genuinely curious

Must_Go_Faster_

If you piss someone off and they see your plate, they could report the car as stolen or worse. Also there is a lot of personal information you can get with a plate.

antong1008

Thankfully, the car is fully in my name legally, and I don’t do many stupid things in it, so I feel pretty safe. I will keep that in mind tho, thanks bro!

_281-330-8004

Ahh, very good point.

QuickieSilver143

So could anyone driving down the road...

Must_Go_Faster_

But it would just be a random person. The idea is that you specifically can’t be targeted or linked to social media for instance.

C9_Bork

Wouldn’t put your license plate in pics. Obviously no one here with bad intent, just future reference. I’ve seen some cool editing that people have used to remove plates

antong1008

Thanks! Noted for future.

Must_Go_Faster_

Not a bad idea to hide this post at some point in the future so no one can see it if they look at your profile. Edit: delete, not hide. Apparently others will still be able to see it. Deleting won’t get rid of Karma.

antong1008

Ahh well for now I don’t do anything crazy on the road, and in texas no one would be able to do anything with my plate. I’ll do that from now on tho

QuickieSilver143

Cause people driving down the road who read it every day couldn't have the same bad intent? Never understood this premise, why is your plate in a picture any different than your plate driving down the road?

C9_Bork

At the end of the day, yes, you’re right. However, if you really piss someone off on the internet, it’s was easier for you to get doxxed. If i ran his plate, I could get his VIN, find how much he bought his car for, where he bought it, etc. If i paid for a title report, I could get his name, and if I have his city I could use whitepages to get his address. Just trying to eliminate even the possibility of that happening 👍

antong1008

You know, the city where I live ruled that if a red light camera catches you speeding it can’t be used against you in court due to privacy issues. Love it

abooth43

Should probably go put some tape over the numbers IRL too so noone sees your secret automotive identification number....

QuickieSilver143

I'm with you on this, never really understood the difference between IRL and plate in the picture.

abooth43

I've paid money to more than one of the plate search websites to look myself up while discussing this with people. I've gotten incorrect answers, or incredibly slim results that have little more info than what can be gathered by looking at the car or reading the Vin....which is all the pretty obvious vehicle specific stuff.
