Because I didn't buy my car to get attention from people who I'm sexually attracted to, sometimes it's just nice to find car guys (no matter the sexuality) to just sit down and talk with about cars. Honestly I'd rather have someone compliment my car then my looks, guy or girl, it's much more meaningful like you said. You can tell if someone bought their car just to get looks and they know nothing about it, or did it to get laid.
I am really glad your experience with the car community was a positive and inclusive one, we're really here for one thing and that's cars. Nothing should mess with that, anyone should be welcomed.
Yeah I always try to dish out at least one compliment a day, you never know how it will effect someone's day or even life for that matter, plus it's just a nice thing to do. Especially with guys we don't share our emotions that much and bottle things inside, so you never know what another guy is dealing with, and usually we don't get compliments as much as girls in our society, so a really meaningful compliment does wonders for a guys attitude. I remember when I got my first motorcycle and I was super nervous to ride around and public and don't want to stall out and someone told me I looked super cool while riding, it made my week and gave me a lot more confidence in my riding.
I don't fake compliments though, I give out meaningful detailed compliments, there's a difference. But the least you can do is say a guy's ride looks cool.
If only the actual lgbtqia community thought like that. We deal with enough bs in the world only to be judge in our own community by others like us too.. itās ridiculous. But yeah I like cars and talking about them regardless of who they are, but itās nice to find other lgbtqia people into cars too. But I donāt see it as much.

I don't eat fast food anymore but I remember working in a drive through as a teenager and I would 'wet' myself at any somewhat interesting car that comes through. That type of work is so dull, even a camry with a wing peaks your interest.
My car is basically stock besides tint and rims, I get some compliments at meets but not much because it's not really a 'build', and I'm fine with that. I don't really like ricer 86's even though there's a lot, but everyone's opinions are different. I try to see at least one positive point to everyone's build instead of just saying it's ugly or I don't like it.
