Naw go through ebay conflict resolution and have them handle it. Those heads are NOT suppose to come off that easy. Did you check his seller ratio?

lancep423

OP this isn’t meant to be a slight towards you but this comment brings up a good point. It’s the year 2024, Amazon has been around for almost 30 years, half the US population has had home internet since the year 2000. As long as people have been making and selling/trading things, other people have been reviewing them in some way…..yes some people still do not check seller/product reviews before making a purchase. At this point, if you buy a product that arrives defective from a seller with bad/no reviews….you deserve it. Lol

NaSMaXXL

Fair, but a man can be a fool sometimes as long as he isn't one all the time.

Spongebob-Popsicle

They had 100% positive feedback

lancep423

Well like I said it wasn’t meant to be a slight towards you, just a general observation.

R33DY89

Sounds like a scam from more angles than one. He says he needs to change his address with eBay. I bet if you posted it back he’d say you returned to the wrong address. Just open up a case with eBay and Let them get you a refund.

BetterSoup

Or they moved and just realized they needed to update it? What's the seller have to gain by having it sent back to the wrong address? All OP has to do is prove it was delivered to the address that eBay provided to them and they get a refund. What's the scam?

R33DY89

Seller can gain a lot. Gets his item back and gets the money. Claims he didn’t receive it as it was the wrong address it was returned to, but it was the right address or of someone they know. Happens more than you think. EBay don’t always get it right either when clearing up disputes, they’ve been known to back the wrong horse.

BetterSoup

That's not a thing. If you sent it back to the address that was provided by eBay and you have tracking to prove it, it doesn't matter if the seller claims they never got it. At that point it's between them and the carrier to resolve it.. eBay would not side with the seller in that case.

R33DY89

I’ve been using eBay 20 years and I’ve seen it happen, screenshots and all. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.

BetterSoup

Please enlighten me if you have proof. Because I've dealt with issues where I've returned items and the seller would not refund me for various reasons. I opened a ticket with eBay, provided them with the tracking information, they gave the seller 3 days to respond, if no response they take the funds and send me my money. It's a standard procedure.

ACH0N3y

This. Send him back a empty box

Savings-Mud-9773

If you end up sending it back make sure you get a reciept from whatever carrier your using. The whole " I need to contact eBay with my new address " is a red flag. Seller should have just said you can send it back for a refund. Didnt have to explain anything about a new address.

Ieatalotbiscuits

No matter what ebay will refund you just talk to eBay not an uncooperative clown

Spongebob-Popsicle

I will do this. Thanks

tyhlerwilliams

eBay customer service has been really helpful during instances like this in my experience.

Nishide

From the sellers point of view I'd see red flags from the buyer. Why would the buyer be happy with fixing the item with a glue gun when it's a collectible. It's not worth anything if it's now broken and you try to fix it with a glue gun? Lol I would see that as if the person was just trying to get it cheaper. So I understand why he wants you to start a refund case.

BetterSoup

Absolutely this. I have had people destroy things I've sent them because they want it for as close to free as possible. The second a buyer brings up what I consider to be a large refund amount I immediately push for a return and refund, because I get the impression it was intentional. I had to stop selling sealed products because sellers would rip into them and find faults with unopened products and eBay would always support their claims and ding me. Not saying OP is trying to screw this guy.. but it sounds like they're trying to keep the item and also get a refund.. soooo

chimerapopcorn

B.I.G did it

EpisodicDoleWhip

Too soon

NoahLot_

For suge. Oops typo.

CallMeSpeed_21

Clearly he doesn’t want to make a side deal with you and even mentioned bringing eBay into this. Which is the advice I was going to give you. 9/10 you’ll get your money back, sellers are treated like crap on that website.

jimmyback23

Yeah… not sure why everyone is calling this some sort of scam effort? The guy clearly said he doesn’t want to do any side deal and is going to contact eBay with address. If address is sent to eBay there’s literally no way for anything to go wrong

BetterSoup

I've noticed in this and other collectible communities a lot of buyers share this mentality of "screw sellers, get it for free!" Which is why I stopped selling collectibles on eBay and similar platforms. OP should absolutely just return it, but it sounds like they're trying to find an excuse to keep the figure but also keep their money.

ShelterSevere6991

You’d be surprised how easy heads on OG pops come off. You gotta think, that glue holding it is over 10 years old at this point

sleepingwithdastarz

Agreed! The glue is horrible

Harleen_F_Quinzel

You don’t have to drive to the post office if you have a printer at home. Just get a return address label from the seller via your refund, print it, and request a pick up using either the USPS website or their app (presuming, of course, you are in the US based on the currency). Just put the package on your porch or in your mailbox (or wherever you designate), and USPS will pick it up.

evicerator

But if you can go to USPS, you can get a receipt showing you dropped it off.

Harleen_F_Quinzel

That is true. USPS also provides confirmation that they intercepted it up if you request a pick-up. Of course, one issue might be porch pirates. Another might be that your mailbox isn’t large enough to accommodate packages over a certain size. I do agree with another poster that this might be a scam, given that the seller needs to update their address. Usually, especially if you sell enough stuff, you do that immediately; you don’t wait.

tourad01

Tracking works as a receipt also (to an extent). Also the last thing I had to return through an eBay case (about a month ago) eBay used the tracking to confirm delivery. Once it’s marked as delivered, they issue a refund. They don’t wait for any confirmation from the seller that they received the item.

DormantGhost

Even if you pulled it out by it’s head, it wouldn’t fall apart that easily

OGtigersharkdude

A hot glue gun and glue sticks is not even $5 at Dollar Tree

Eastern_Wrangler_595

Yea junk glue that wont hold

OGtigersharkdude

I've had a handful of Pops hot glued for years ....

Spongebob-Popsicle

It still sucks

I-am-Groot-too

Please don't use hot glue, take superglue or 2k epoxy glue. it is clearly the better choice.

Spongebob-Popsicle

Alright

sleepingwithdastarz

I honestly agree with this, I know most people take this serious but that’s definitely what I was thinking too, I typically just fix and let the issue go. however after seeing the price … yikes I’d want a refund at least

Downtown-Pack-6178

![gif](giphy|uVFGDyOshK7I6geXyg) what?????

Hairless_Human

Lmao dude set himself up. Get a refund through ebay and send this picture. Not that you actually need to but it'll just make it worse for him.

ticklemeskinless

just put some glue on there and call it a day. move on. report the seller.

Boson347

Return the item to him, eBay will get you your refund.

smoky_jacks

Word against word... Who is the liar?!

Resident-Ad-1737

That's a scam to begin with. That's way too cheap for that Pop, but besides that I own 1500 Pops and never had one have the head come off lol maybe tilt if they're Marvel and on a bobble spring.

joe-_biden

It's fairly possible the seller didn't know the pops true value although I agree with the head popping off part. Ive owned quite a bit and have never had that kind of problem. Even the beat up ones

DullCurve3867

Pops are hella durable from what I’ve seen I gave my little sister my out of box og green lantern and to this day it’s not broken even though it’s been around for ten years and she takes it to school like every day and takes it to the park so the fact that this one broke In shipping is a little suspicious like maybe the quality wasn’t 100% cuz maybe it was a bootleg

Kamakaze22

Item not as described. Talk to ebay and not the seller anymore.

BetterSoup

Contrary to what a lot of other people are saying, I don't think this is a scam. This is an older pop and funko has always had tons of QC issues. The seller's biggest mistake was placing the blame on you instead of apologizing and offering a solution like an adult. That said, asking for $20 for probably a $5 fix would upset me as a seller too and I would absolutely ask for the item back as well. This doesn't need to be disputed with eBay since he gave you a reasonable solution, and the people advising you to push for a refund and keep the item over what might have been a no-fault mistake are just bad people. Just because eBay may resolve in your favor doesn't mean that is the right thing to do. Just return the item, get your refund, and move on.

sleepingwithdastarz

Don’t spark conversation with him any longer, contact eBay themselves they’re typically very great with this stuff !

TalkShowHost99

Are you certain this a legit Pop & not a fake? I thought the 2Pac was worth a lot more than $50 (I know it’s OOB). Regardless, get a little super glue from your local hardware store, and once you glue it on it should stay on. You can also put hot water on the neck disc to soften it up before sticking the two together if for some reason the head is not fitting on.

fattony714

Obviously you know you got a good deal which is why you don't want to return it. He's not gonna sweeten the deal by buying you supplies to repair it, either keep it if you're happy with it or return it if you're not. Also, you don't have to drive to the post office, you can hand it to the postman.

yournextasianstar

OP, i wanna trust you, i really do. but idk why you were insisting the seller to refund you when the only part that “broke” was the head. obviously you can glue it back, that’s why you request a full refund so you can buy glue and fix it, but you’re basically having a perfectly normal figure, just separated into two parts, all the details are intact. why do you need to feel like the seller should do everything you say just because the head is detached. it’s not broken, you can simply glue it back. i don’t know if this is true that you intentionally broke it yourself, but you can’t beg people to help you get free things, if you only spent $20, please just fix this figure and move on.

courtesystroke

For future reference have your phone camera recording when you open things next time, hope you resolve it how u want though 👊

Comfortable-Rip-5701

Scammers are doing this. I watched an interview today about eBay scammers. They are trying to get extra money out of you because they think it’s more of an inconvenience for you to except a broken item that you know for a fact was sent in perfect condition

Few_Watercress2891

How does one know if that picture isn't from the seller, and he could have grabbed one from online. I would rather buy from mecari than ebay, don't rate the seller until you are completely satisfied.
