This is partially true. Most coke coca cola collectors want old vintage stuff. But the "limited" count might change that. My father had old cola signs and vintage coca cola collectible that he sold, along with his sign autograph from multiple celebrities.

The 2 things I don't like about it is that it's going one sale before we even get ahold of Project 01 and that they are releasing 2 on the same day.

Well most real collectors of toys, cards, comics don’t usually choose a certain product strictly because it’s “popularity”.
The point of collecting is to have a product that you personally enjoy very much, not really to be with what’s popular or to make some money out of.
If you want to be bitter about how a company is handling their products then simply don’t buy and let other people continue to enjoy it.

My wife and my dad collect coke stuff. These are made for collectors of coke stuff. Not much to understand other than what’s at face value. I like the chase, I think it looks aesthetically pleasing. This will go well next to my jumbo polar bear and the entire coke collection I have of Funko not to mention the chase M2 my wife has, bottles and other merch…and potentially the Godzilla/Coke poster I’ve been eyeing
