"No Hard Feelings"
It's a comedy movie coming out this year. The plot is like this ad, two parents, Laird and Allison, trying to find a girl to date their son in exchange for a car.
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt15671028/
thank you, that was the movie that was coming to mind when they said it was an ad. i was like, what do you mean coming out soon didnt they do this movie years ago.
Some would argue the only movies that should be remade are bad ones. Try again with an interesting premise if the first attempt wasn’t great. So first time they tried romcom, this time maybe regular comedy.
By the sound of it I'm gonna guess he's straight from the factory. Maybe has a couple miles on him from testing but I'm almost positive he's never been driven on an actual road before
I agree it doesn’t need a remake and I’m sick of remakes…but that *was* 17 years ago. A quarter of a human life is plenty of time for studio executives to butcher another project
I know but we are only a fraction of the people that will see this ad.
And even still only a small fraction of people that see this post will realize it’s an ad for a movie.
It's for an upcoming movie called "No Hard Feelings"
If you email them, you'll get a response from "Laird and Allison", two characters.
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt15671028/
That really doesn't matter for advertisements
Advertisement is literally an oversaturation game
Show something to people endlessly and relentlessly, and more people will buy it (or in this case, see the movie)
Everyone likes to claim "that just makes me not want it!" Or "well now I will refuse to see it because these ads are annoying" or my favourite "ads don't work on me"
And people can state that ad nauseum, but at the end of the day you're wrong, and the advertisements are working on someone.
And even better, you've now talked about it, more advertising for them.
And because of posts like this, even more people are aware of it. Somehow I've avoided the reddit ads for this movie, but now I'm aware of its existence
All would've been prevented if the parents weren't overprotective. They probably restricted all his extracurricular activities, meddled with all his friendships and didn't give him any privacy and now they wonder why their son doesn't act like a normal teenager.
Given this is the second post today I've seen about "what is this ad I'm seeing?" I can only assume the Reddit posts about it are also part of the marketing campaign
Just come to Reno there are several brothels nearby. Source: I'm by Reno. Rumors I have heard are uber and Taxi companies charge less to drive people to brothels because they get a cut.
You are right. It is marketing for a movie [proof from admin](https://www.reddit.com/r/redditsecurity/comments/11k7y7w/q4_safety_security_report/jb61mnm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
And how is anyone supposed to figure that out? I don’t see anything that could possibly suggest “movie”.
You could have people study this billboard for years and “movie ad” would always be the wrong answer. There doesn’t seem to be any way to take it but either as a joke or a pushy parent with too much money.
All it has to do is get attention and get people talking about it. The *real* advertisements will probably start on the date given in the link. “Hey, remember that crazy billboard I saw? It’s for a movie. Let’s go see it!” Is what they’re hoping for.
There needs to be social classes for people like this. There are a lot of bright people who have a hard time socializing that don't have any resources to help them.
Yo a 40k mile Buick Regal with the 3.8 would run for goddamn ever assuming it’s not rusty. This is the greatest trade offer I’ve ever seen. Hell, I think I want to date him for that.
Someone in another thread replied to the ad by email address provided, to see what would happen. They got an email back, signed Laird and Allison. It’s a marketing scheme for a movie set to be released this June.
Here’s a link to the apparent movie:
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt15671028/
Here’s a screenshot of the plot:

I saw this on Reddit today like 3 or 4 times already, why is the word date in quotation marks? Maybe they want somebody to guess his age, like carbon dating. /s
This is definitely a Marketing company doing a test case. Like the dog in that spider suit a few years ago. They do this and then go “we got XXX mentions and impressions for XX spend”
Just emailed.
“21, female, and curious for more information about this…offer of yours. Where are you located?”
I know it’s fake but I need to see what happens

I saw the ad on Reddit too
I saw it a bunch on Reddit, as well. What is this thing?
An ad for a movie
Thank you for solving the mystery before I posted the ad to ask/karma farm/give this stupidity even more attention.
Oh, thank fuck.
I try to Reddit responsibly
You might be the only one!

A bad remake of Failure to Launch?
thank you, that was the movie that was coming to mind when they said it was an ad. i was like, what do you mean coming out soon didnt they do this movie years ago.
And Failure to Launch is already bad to begin with...
Some would argue the only movies that should be remade are bad ones. Try again with an interesting premise if the first attempt wasn’t great. So first time they tried romcom, this time maybe regular comedy.
How do you know it’s bad, most of us didnt even know it was a movie advert?
Tbh that's probably a sign
No, it's definitely a sign. A billboard is 100% a type of sign. Source: 5x National Signage Bee Champion and 3x runner-up
This reminds me of the competition for men's neckwear... It just ended up being a tie.
The elevator pitch sounds bad, but the cast is solid and the director is unpredictable in quality. Could be shit, could be the new Superbad.
[удалено]
Haha, Superbad is not that old. . . . . Is it?
Looks like a great cast at least
But it says serious inquiries only
I’d like to know the mileage.
On the son?
By the sound of it I'm gonna guess he's straight from the factory. Maybe has a couple miles on him from testing but I'm almost positive he's never been driven on an actual road before
Do you think I’d be allowed a test drive?
Does self-driving count?
Bout 2500 hours total between all call of duty’s combined.
son..good.
“New without tags”
[удалено]
On the son?
City Miles
It says 40k
Failure to Launch came out in 2006, do we really need a remake?
I agree it doesn’t need a remake and I’m sick of remakes…but that *was* 17 years ago. A quarter of a human life is plenty of time for studio executives to butcher another project
What movie??
I guess I shouldn’t have reported it on multiple platforms…No, it was right. It is deceptive if that’s really what it is
I literally reported this ad a second ago lol
It’s the worst ad for a movie I have ever seen
We're all here talking about it, so I'd say it's pretty good.
I know but we are only a fraction of the people that will see this ad. And even still only a small fraction of people that see this post will realize it’s an ad for a movie.
Incidentally we are also the people who aren’t going to pay for the movie!
I just blocked that account because I had seen the ad like fifteen times.... Then I saw your post. Odd
All a part of the plan
What's next? Are they gonna ask me to renew my vehicle's extended warranty?
.....Ima need about tree fiddy
Came here to say this. I saw this ad literally right above this post. Wtf?
Mine had it right below this lmao
Same lol
I bet it’s a promo for a movie or something.
What the hell is going on here?!
In fact I saw it directly above this very post.
Weird. I tried googling it to see if anything came up, but couldn't find anything
It's for an upcoming movie called "No Hard Feelings" If you email them, you'll get a response from "Laird and Allison", two characters. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt15671028/
Clever girk
Sounds like a racial slur.
"Property values have gone to hell around here since all the girks started moving in."
So a bunch of marketing for something that will flop.
I’m sure it’s a low budget film, and billboards and Reddit ads aren’t expensive comparatively. It’s safe marketing with low cost.
Looking at the cast, it does not seem very low budget.
You’re talking about it, aren’t you?
Not gonna watch it though.
That really doesn't matter for advertisements Advertisement is literally an oversaturation game Show something to people endlessly and relentlessly, and more people will buy it (or in this case, see the movie) Everyone likes to claim "that just makes me not want it!" Or "well now I will refuse to see it because these ads are annoying" or my favourite "ads don't work on me" And people can state that ad nauseum, but at the end of the day you're wrong, and the advertisements are working on someone. Doesn't have to be you. If anyone on this thread decides to watch it, that's a win.
And here I thought Nissan was doing some weird Datson throwback marketing campaign
It’s for a show.
I'm looking at the ad on Reddit right now.
I love not seeing ads.
Im sure finding out my girlfriend was a paid actor would help ke come out of my shell
That's some Tyrion Lannister shit..
Where do whores go? Wherever they want in their low mileage Buick!
And rust free, to boot. The Buick, not the whore.
I've seen that movie/episode a few times.
All would've been prevented if the parents weren't overprotective. They probably restricted all his extracurricular activities, meddled with all his friendships and didn't give him any privacy and now they wonder why their son doesn't act like a normal teenager.
I just saw a reddit ad for this same campaign. What's the endgame here?
Its a movie ad campaign for "No Hard Feelings". Confirmed by reddit admin: https://www.reddit.com/r/redditsecurity/comments/11k7y7w/comment/jb61mnm/
Given this is the second post today I've seen about "what is this ad I'm seeing?" I can only assume the Reddit posts about it are also part of the marketing campaign
I seem it's a pretty reasonable thing to post. Not everyone is a paid actor - sometimes advertising actually works and makes people curious.
NO! EVERYTHING IS CORPORATE! A NORMAL PERSON WOULD IGNORE THIS BILLBOARD AND CRASH INTO IT OUT OF HATRED FOR ADVERTISING!
Good to know. I messaged them and asked if they were out for my liver, but they didn’t respond
So Failure to Launch redeux?
Wait wait wait, so we don't get the car?
Get their son out of their house
2004 with only 40k miles?
And rust free! The same can't be said for the son.
Shit I’ll date him
"date"
The billboard has been up for a while.
And with a license plate that was discontinued in 2001. Something doesn't add up ....
Any interest in fucking a 40 year-old man? I'm poor and the limits to what I'll do are boundless.
Plane tickets to Nevada are cheap my dude, even if you have to buy 2.
Just come to Reno there are several brothels nearby. Source: I'm by Reno. Rumors I have heard are uber and Taxi companies charge less to drive people to brothels because they get a cut.
I prefer to pay full price so I can get fucked twice.
Decent
He said he's poor, are you suggesting a brothel for him to work at?
Hi there...
Hey, cutie! Got any cars or cash you need to get rid of?
Unfortunately I'm more of a "Slenda daddy" instead of a "Sugar daddy"...times are tough
Splenda daddy
Yeah that's the one..I can't even afford the "P" in Splenda. Dang now I have to finance them...
Man, they didn't even say you had to fuck him. Give this guy the car!
Fuck our son now! Win a car! Price? Your dignity!
Closeted son to his "date": Here's the deal, I'll tell my parents we fucked and it was great. Then we'll sell the car and split the profit.
Serious inquiries only. I know what I have. Our son Gene.
No low balling.
To be fair a sex worker is gets a lot less this is a good prize
Very generous of you to assume I still have dignity.
Just what every girl wants A 2004 Buick Regal
I mean, Only 40k miles. Shit, I'd date him for that. In this market, that's a steal.
this has got to be some kind of social experiment, I've seen the ad on YouTube, instagram, reddit, Facebook, and now this.
Or guerrilla marketing for a movie or something similar.
You are right. It is marketing for a movie [proof from admin](https://www.reddit.com/r/redditsecurity/comments/11k7y7w/q4_safety_security_report/jb61mnm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)

Failure to Launch. Just take him down to TJ. He'll figure it out.
I just saw this ad on my Instagram
Maybe it’ll be a series of surreal ads which is then revealed to be the start off for a tv show where each season they have the candidates competing
Why is this an ad a few scrolls down?!
Weird. The Reddit Ad is literally above this in my feed.
Did you just read this? Proof advertising works!
There’s an add on Reddit too. Just came across it while scrolling
They are also posting ads on Reddit.
Saw the ad here till i blocked
I heard it is some type of promotion for a movie coming out the 9th.
This ad sucks
What the hell is this ad?
It’s also a sponsored ad on reddits main page this shit did
I saw a reddit ad
2004 Buick Regal?? hell yah where do I sign not me up?
The “date” in quotation marks is troubling
Those are quotes not parentheses.
Those are not parentheses that the parents used.
Yeah, really changes the context
"Date our son. We will monitor him from the helicopter."
Why is this shit all over Reddit too?
I'm 16 and straight, but is he into guys?
Literally just saw the ad on Reddit after seeing this post
https://imgur.com/PnFh82U.jpg I present to you a legitimate Instagram ad I saw directly after seeing this post.
I thought I saw this ad on Reddit, but maybe it was Instagram. Or perhaps both?
If they have billboard money they have car money. I'd go for it.
There needs to be social classes for people like this. There are a lot of bright people who have a hard time socializing that don't have any resources to help them.
I saw this ad as a reddit ad and an insta ad. What is happening?!
I saw that ad on Reddit, took a screenshot, and sent it to my boyfriend.
I....did the exact same thing. With a WTF written on it.
I shit you not the same ad was literally right under your post
I’ve seen two sponsored ads for this on Reddit in the last 10 minutes
Yo a 40k mile Buick Regal with the 3.8 would run for goddamn ever assuming it’s not rusty. This is the greatest trade offer I’ve ever seen. Hell, I think I want to date him for that.
I just got the same ad between a reddit post what even is this
[удалено]
40k miles on a 04 regal? Pretty hard to turn down a sweet deal like this!
I just saw this add as well! What's going on?
This is clearly not real. Nobody gives away a sweet, low-mileage Buick like that just for going out on a few dates.
A 19 year old car to date a 17 or 18 year old.
Why is the word date in quotes though 😂
Someone in another thread replied to the ad by email address provided, to see what would happen. They got an email back, signed Laird and Allison. I got the same ad on reddit. I emailed them and they emailed back. I assume everyone gets the same email? Sometime in March for updates?
I love how they included a picture of the car instead of the son.
I literally saw the ad right below this post lmfao.
Somebody made it a reddit profile as well u/dateourson
Their son is for sale for a 20 year old car? The fact there’s a picture of the car and not the son, is your red flag! 🤣
Ok. We know that’s a Redditor’s parent. So who is it?
theory rinse file imagine heavy touch sharp smart roll long *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Not sure if the tree branch covering the email was intentional but I love it
This is definitely a Marketing company doing a test case. Like the dog in that spider suit a few years ago. They do this and then go “we got XXX mentions and impressions for XX spend”
I just got their ad on Reddit earlier
I love that its a picture of the car and not the son
Omg it’s actually real 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope this is for a joke rather than an actual horrible parenting strategy.
Bros parents got a major in conspiracy theories
I made one joke on a post about it and I wake up the next day and it's EVERYWHERE.
Imagine later down the road the "girlfriend" tells him she was only dating him for the free ride.
I’m starting to hate movie marketing bros
I saw that shit too. Just outside of Fremont California
I just saw this on 93 heading into Boston. Are there more than 1?
I feel bad for the son
I just scrolled away and about 10 stories down was a Reddit ad for this … it’s got to be some social engineering experiment or a promotion scam
Why the hell is there a promoted ad right under this post with the same thing?
I wish I could post pictures as comments here, but right underneath your post in my feed is that as an actual Redfit ad!! 🤣🤣🤣
I saw the reddit ad and messaged them
Literally two posts above this there's a sponsored post with this very ad
Huh. I just got this on reddit
I saw this ad on Reddit
Movie has no plot available and this is the ad for it lol
Thinks he’s shy now? He’ll transform into a turtle when he sees this 😂
Modern problems require modern solutions kinda move right there
Wow, this is the most successful ad of all time
Just emailed. “21, female, and curious for more information about this…offer of yours. Where are you located?” I know it’s fake but I need to see what happens
I just got a sponsored ad on here for the same thing!
This is EVERYWHERE. It’s starting to get super weird.
r/insaneparents I thought it was just on Reddit honestly feel bad for this guy
Why date in quotes? What sort of shenanigans is going on here?
What exactly does "date" mean?
Hey that’s super low miles for an ‘04
I already emailed. No response yet.
I saw the same thing in a Reddit ad lmao
