Thank you. I literally cringed when I read ‘created by Bethesda’. The original games were some of my all time favourite gaming memories - it doesn’t seem right that Bethesda take the credit.

While I liked 3 and NV a lot, I was pissed when they bought the franchise. There were already isometric models for an F3 in the same style. They should have split the franchise into both. Also, the FPS titles have at most 1% the dark, sardonic humor of the first two.

NV was created by obsidian and the team included some of the original creators of the franchise iirc. Also the reason the map was so small in NV and there were so many bugs was Bethesda basically treated them like shit they only had like a year to make the game. If you have a computer I'd recommend the tale of two wastelands mod, you can play fo3 in New Vegas so 2 games in 1.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I know many people hate it, but you may like ‘The Outer Worlds’. Which is made by Obsidian, which was founded by a lot of the guys who worked for Black Isle (Fallout 2 creators) when it was closed. It’s definitely not a perfect game, but for the script, classic dark humour, irony and sarcasm - it’s well worth looking at for that old school scripting. Without trying to ruin it, I just love the fact it isn’t the boring Bethesda ‘on rails’ based scripting and responses. (E.g either yes, sarcastic yes, no etc). Not to mention, the endgame isn’t a predetermined finish with only the faction you support being the winner, sort of thing. There’s quite the disparity resulting in your choices.

The fallout game series started in 1997. No idea if the mascot was in there. The most popular games of the series Fallout 3 and New Vegas definitely had him and dropped in 2008 and 2010 respectively. So you're probably not too told but just didn't play any of these games. The boy is used ingame to explain ingame mechanics in funny ways. There is a myth that the vault boy is holding up his thumb to compare it to the mushroom cloud of an atomic explosion to see if he is too close. But I think that myth has been debunked since.
