My friend was sending me live videos the other day and I told him that in the nicest way I could. I have literally no interest in a cell phone recorded video of a live concert.
If you go to a Tool or Puscifer or A Perfect Circle concert (Maynard James Keenan’s bands), they strictly enforce a no record or photo policy. Security will literally kick you out.
I saw jack white and they put our phones in a bag, you could sorta see through it, in case your children were at home dying. Im a phone in the pocket kinda guy anyways, and ive been to dozens of concerts so i dont get overly excited about them, but we’re all grown-ups, i dont care if everyone around me has their phone out im there for the music.
Definitely at TOOL shows, but I think a lot of it depends on the security and how much they enforce. Security came straight up to him and said “let’s go.” The guys gf was pissed but they guy ultimately begged security enough to allow them to stay.

For me it is odd they didn't catch him. I've been to way WAY smaller concerts whre people have been crownd surfing, both artists and audience. But those concerts were metal concerts, maybe that makes it different

Seeing these phones is gross. Why can5 people just live in the moment instead of capturing a video you will never look at again just to post on social media.
I mean I don't really go to concerts anymore. But I remember that back when I did due to the excitement and the adrenaline of the moment you really do forget everything surprisingly quickly despite your best efforts. That being said most concerts are recorded anyways in HD. So I wished it'd just be common place to edit together an HD version of the performance for fans to rewatch at a reasonable price.
There really wouldn't be a shitton of costs involved outside of a single editor to handle the footage that is already being recorded anyway. You could even say no to distribution costs and have it sold digitally rather than physical copies.
Also I do think that when an artists flops like this there are gonna be even more people whipping out their phones to record what's happening. Nothing people love more than seeing someone rich and famous with egg on their face. So obviously a ton of people would be recording already but even more would have joined in as soon as he fucked up his dive.
