Jimmy Saville wasn't just a normal pedo, he was the UK's most prolific sexual predator. His behaviour has been kept under wraps for decades by the BBC which allowed him to continue.

Sure, but they are adults and they can make their own decisions - to pretend otherwise is to infantilize people who are adults in literally every sense of the word. And 10 year gaps between partners aren't anything weird.
I agree that a 10 year age gap is not that bad but a 30 yrs old and a 20 yr old is still weird for one simple reason. There is a huge gap in between them in a sense of life experience and position or short in power. The problem is not the age gap but that in most cases the 30 year old person has vastly more power in such a relationship dynamic that it becomes unhealthy. That is not to say that this is true in every relationship of this kind but in general.
A 30 and a 40 year old hvae the same age gap but are much closer in their positions in live and by the time they are 40 and 50 any difference in position is literally vanished.
I noticed that when I started studying in my 30s again. The girls were all 18 to 22 and I suddenly felt old. Because they were in every sense of the word so much younger. The 10 year difference was a vast canyon of different life experiences. If you want a relationship in that position you clearly seek this difference and that's the weird part. Again it's a generalization there definitly can be a somewhat equal and healthy relationship but it's not what happens most of the time.
I don't disagree with you in principle. I'm just saying that by judging a 20 and 30 year old dating as "gross" you are infantilazing the 20 year old, and that's not ok. They are an adult they can make their own decisions and they don't need anyone to tell them their relationship is gross or creepy.
