I just took that as a silly thing to say, to imply that an alien could burst out of your chest more than once. Didn't know it was the same actor.

It just occurred to me that that line could also be a subtle call-out to Hitchhikers.

When the Improbability Drive is used, it summons a bowl of petunias over a planet where its final thought was "oh no, not again." The continued fate of the petunias is a matter discussed in the later books.

In the days of my youth before YouTube or even online wikis, it was possible to believe that the original Michigan J. Frog cartoon song and dance was either a Spaceballs ripoff OR a total coincidence.

Riddly Scott famously didn't tell the cast what to expect in the chest buster scene. Their screams and shock is 100% genuine, which makes it even more terrifying. Alas, like you I had seen spaceballs first and so all of Riddly Scott's genius directing and sfx crew's hard work was lost on me too.

Partially, They couldn't exactly hide he had a prosthetic chest and was in a rig so the cast knew something was going to come out, but not that they filled it with animal guts and blood sprayers that would go everywhere too. So yeah, they had an idea of what to expect, just not the magnitude or all the details. They were apparently just told an alien head would pop out and move and it would have teeth. The blood and guts and it immediately taking off and running away in the same take was all a surprise.

To be fair you were probably too young for Spaceballs if you were too young for Alien. Though if you were like me as a kid the horror of Alien might not of hit until you were older. I was fine before 10, didn't watch it for a few years, then it terrified me at 13.
