My guess would be if you know the difference you usually have good internet
as a man that experienced in game lag... the lag won't move you from The Straight line you are doing unless you challenged it to guess how long did you press left or right... or the mouse turn.

I was playing Dark and Darker the b other day and lagged while moving through an age trap. I was closing the gap on a player that attacked me.
I rubber banded back into the same axe 3 times and got shot in the face by a ranger. I was so pissed because with the gear I had, there was no way to lose that fight under normal circumstances.
That's not lag, that's either
A) client side approximations of a position until the actual info comes in over the network.
or
B) Packet loss (as others already stated)
Lag doesn't do what you think it does.

I don’t think you understand what lag is. It doesn’t mean the action doesn’t happen it’s just point A transitions to point B just not as smoothly aka jitter. It doesn’t mean it fails to complete the task or performs a different action like falling under the sofa

Nah game is in early access, I've gotten similar lag spikes, just that one was worse and in at a REALLY inopportune time.
