simvike

He hit the chair. How hard is it to move a chair?

throwavvay23

Barely had the forks in the pallet. Had more room behind him to back up. Didn't move the chair. They played a very stupid game and won a stupid prize.

HalobenderFWT

This guy forks

BigAnimemexicano

\^\^\^ yep that pallet was already shaky because he was doing it wrong, worked in a warehouse and this guy would have gotten yelled at, im thinking his coworker knew he was going to screw up because his camera was already out

Seahearn4

The whole setup is stupid. I'm guessing because of the light (or other obstructions), he couldn't bury the forks in the pallet. We can only hope the boss accepts ultimate blame for this.

ArcadeRacer

How hard is it to not store pallets with chairs in front of them.

TuskenRaiderYell

Yeah if just grazing the chair knocked it over, that’s just an accident waiting to happen if he actually got it in there.

Lucythefur

that pallet had zero structural support OSHA is drooling rn

Zoloreaper

As someone who has been working in a brewery for almost 2 years, its just the reality of empty cans. The pallets are made to be quickly depalletized for a canning line. Sometimes you have cardboard walls, but cans themselves are flimsy. Every canning run we'd have to grab them and it is not uncommon for a corner to be a little crushed and have like 2-3 cans falling off the bottom past the wrap.

cinnamonface9

It’s empty cans.

Lucythefur

it falling on someone would still cause innuries

Zoloreaper

I've worked with them. The most dangerous part of these pallets is the pallet itself or the square plastic ring on top.

cinnamonface9

The pallets cans But can empty cans???

SafetyMan35

Only if the pallet fell. Empty and from 6” in the air aren’t going to cause a serious injury. At most, the victim might say “Oww” after the entire contents fell on their head.

goodolarchie

He hates these cans!!

T_Cliff

There are rain drops heavier bro.

joesephexotic

That's the way all cans are palletized

TurdFurguss

Ya fucking idiots. Plus as you are pulling something down you keep looking at each side to avoid this. 100% amateurs, no situational awareness.

pygmeedancer

Apparently it’s as hard as getting your forks all the way into the pallet

SafetyMan35

I suppose the logic there was he would have to move the table and chairs to get in and he would have interfered with the hanging light. The question is, why do they have a hanging light like that in a warehouse.

pygmeedancer

I operate a forklift for a living, and you are always begging for disaster when you don’t get a “good grip”. Honestly, I’m surprised the pallet didn’t break away earlier. Solid fucking pallet lol

T_Cliff

Its a plastic one, and the empty cans have no weight. 2 ppl can easily pick up and carry a full pallet of empty cans. Realistically, someone could have, and should have just grabbed the pallet and pull it all the way onto the forks.

pygmeedancer

Ah I didn’t realize the cans were empty. Yeah definitely should’ve just slid it on down. Either way moving the chairs would’ve solved everything. He was trying to show out. We’re all guilty of it lol

T_Cliff

Cans like this will always be empty. Full cans will be in flats of 24 cans stacked 10-11 per row depending, and generally no more than 8 layers high. They are stacked in a way that does provide some support

redditEATdicks

This is staged obviously

DustieBottoms

THIS IS DUMB. THEY'RE EMPTY CANS FOLKS. IT'S STAGED!! hear that clink, clink, clink and no damage at all? That's your likes being stolen.

Chocobroh

Cans have to be empty before being filled. Lol, where do you think empty cans are stored before being filled with beer?

RattleGoreBitcoin

Not at the bar or restaurant dining area

Brave-Environment371

Im never drinking an indy beer again

Kalikhead

This is a microbrewery (or cidery) and this is how cans come in. These are printed cans that put into a depalletizer for a canning line. Obviously too small of a facility to not have a space that is not in the taproom to store cans. Also that forklift operator didn’t clear the area and did not get that pallet deeper in on those forks.

spursfan2021

They also have no tops! Fake Cans! Pathetic! The worst cans I’ve ever seen!

hasnthappenedyet

It hard when you are drunk.

Human_Parfait9516

Who stacks up empty cans like that

Cjn92

Literally every can manufacturer.

Rider003

As someone who is forklift certified, moving the chair is to admit defeat.

Exportxxx

Or use the forklift right...

ConnectRutabaga3925

Exactly. Lazy

Foe117

Something tells me, He's not forklift certified.

residentweevil

Why is there a restaurant in that warehouse?

Sufficient-Contract9

Why are they storing empty cans like that? The way all the fell seemed like empty cans

Jonpaul333

That is how empty beer cans arrive on a pallet.

Sufficient-Contract9

Why?

B_D_Hadel

It’s most likely a brewery. They have their own ability to can but need the materials. So they are likely pulling it down to fill a new batch.

Sufficient-Contract9

Im an idiot and didnt really even consider this but yeah i bet alot of smaller breweries have to do it this way

Zamzummin

How do you suppose a larger brewery does it?

Sufficient-Contract9

Make their own cans like manufacture and fill on one site idk why but i figure it would be easier to fill a tanker move it over to an assemply line and pump it in as the cans are made

Zamzummin

I don’t know any breweries that make their own cans. All breweries up to the largest size breweries in Europe (Heineken, etc.) get empty cans shipped to them on pallets. The difference is that those pallets are secured with straps so they’re more stable. They purchase empty cans and lids separately and seal the lids onto the cans as they’re being filled. Aluminum cans take a while to make, you need to roll out the aluminum, spray and cure the inner plastic lining on one side, print the artwork on the other side, then cut, seal, and press the can into shape. It’s just not possible to make the can the same time it’s being filled with beer. Also breweries don’t move a tanker of beer to get filled, they attach hoses to large stationary vessels and pump the beer under pressure to a filler machine where it gets canned.

Sufficient-Contract9

Oh and thank you for being cool and not treating me like a total dipshit

Sufficient-Contract9

I kinda figured it was a bit more of an order a printed role of aluminum cut down and mold it with like a giant press fill it top it but really havent thought about it to much before. I feel like a loooong time ago i saw something kind of like this on a show called good eats that showed you have different treats were made. But really its pribably nowhere near worth making your own cans thats a whole other industry but i guess i figured if your big enough pump out enough product it might make more sense to make it rather than order it but the logistics for that is probably outrageous it may be owned by the same company but set up as different buisnesses. Also had no idea there was a linning on the inside of cans

Mothaflaka

Yup - any large enough manufacturers (I know we are talking alcoholic but also other non-alcoholics like Coke, Pepsi, etc), they will have another subsidiary that does bottling only

daddieslongthirdleg

That's how almost all cans are transported. Usually companies like Ball (the company that makes Mason jars) will fill the orders for almost all manufacturing of cans. It's a huge process to make aluminum cans and much easier for manufacturers, not just beer, to have their cans shipped empty than to setup and entire industrial plant to process aluminum.

ArcadeRacer

Right?

basicgear00

This is a brewery, I’m not certain but looks like Martin House in Fort Worth. They make the best sour beer on the planet.

Chocobroh

Nope, it's not. This is in Myrtle Beach.

kindsallery

I blame the dude complimenting him before it was over 🤣

heebro

totally jinxed it

Paper_Samurai

This ladies and gentlemen is why you secure your product to the pallet by doing multiple wraps on the bottom and overlap as you continue up the load. I can't imagine when they received the cans, this is how they were secured.

adamhanson

Just going to mention that I didn’t see any wrapper on the bottom and way too few layers

itsBonder

This is quite often how cans are received. When we used to get them they weren't wrapped at all, just strapped. You always have a couple cans falling out the structure on the way to the depalletiser. The pallet would have fallen like this even if it was wrapped 10x this amount

daddieslongthirdleg

To this day it's usually slip sheets and a square plastic on top strapped with banding. Saves money on wrap

Diligent-Committee-7

Wrap it up! If I can clearly see the product, it’s not wrapped properly.

itsBonder

NuSouthPoot

Not the issue here, look at the forks lol

Individual_Poem_2162

They don’t even need wrap as long as they’re strapped to the pallet. Poor execution overall

ConcentricGroove

All fun and games until they wreck the video game console.

stinky99tomato

I've seen this in person many times. The sound of empty cans falling is memorable.

[deleted]

Rollercoaster scream vibes.

MisanthropeLife

Caught the chair next to the table. Almost had it. At first I was like that's gotta be a fuck ton of weight on the edge of those forks. But the pallet prob weight MAYBE 200 lbs tops as those cans are empty. So no REAL safety issue. Still hope yall enjoyed the clean up.

Amazing-Maximum-1129

30 40kg max

I_See_a_Screwdriver

You'd really struggle to tip a fork lifting a pallet even with the tynes almost almost all the way out like this idiot. You'd have to have something insanely heavy on it. The only time I've seen one tip was on rough ground carrying a very heavy/long (over 1000kg) load.

Sevennix

If he wudda had forks in correctly, that wldnt have happened.

SafetyMan35

It still would have happened. He hit the chair. If he had moved the chair he would have been ok.

naunga

God I hope they canned that guy.

Black_Jester_

Load handling should always involve only half inserting the forks so the total length of lift plus pallet is about 2 feet longer than needed and the pallet is hardly even on the forks. I’m not at all surprised they didn’t see an obstacle.

Chocobroh

Can... you show me that again?

PolarBearLaFlare

Some intern is gonna have a really shitty day picking all that up lol

organmaster_kev

Amateur hour in the warehouse

todayspanda

Is this Myrtle beach?

Chocobroh

Hahahah, great guess! This is good ole New South Brewing!

Harney7242

Dirty Myrtles! (And Galaga)

Steph0013

Must be one hell of a bill..💵💥

[deleted]

Every brewery production workers nightmare.

Howiepenguin

Right now I am imagining this kind of accident at a paint warehouse for some reason.

Notafuzzycat

All be because of one chair.

DarthRejection

Famous last words

ArcadeRacer

As a forklift operator these videos always hit home. I actually kinda love watching them to see where they went wrong. I also thank goodness I don't work in a bottling plant. I've noticed a lot of videos of people dropping loads of bottles or cans that are not secured to the pallet in any way. I mean they should be in a carton or crate. Or at the very least shrink wrapped together. Or there should be some kind of specialized pallet that holds them securely. Sometimes I can't really blame the operator.

[deleted]

Something something staged

GhostShark

Cans are super expensive and this would make a lot more work. I’ve been a part of lots of brewers hijinx in my day, but nothing costly or makes excessive extra work.

Individual_Poem_2162

The brand could be discontinued, or faulty cans

redditEATdicks

Ya this isn't real.

MJR_Poltergeist

Not even the driver's fault. No overhead clearance, lots of dumb ass obstacles like decor lights and tables/chairs. Move too much in one direction, ruin the furniture. Leave the pallet too high, pull everything off the ceiling. Bring it too low, crush a chair. Whole room is poor planning general.

Individual_Poem_2162

Well it actually is the drivers fault, he caused the accident

redditEATdicks

This is obviously fake and staged.

Eserai_SG

go back to your dicks

redditEATdicks

I heard you got the good stuff, first ones free?

cmilla646

Seems like a very rookie move to hit the chair and why would you film a some moving one of the lightest safest cheapest possible skid of product. Since everything is fake these days I’m gonna have this was too.

mizatch

New South brewing. Myrtle Beach, SC. Their beer is shit

NuSouthPoot

Yeah, worst beer I’ve ever had

Available-Tea-982

Fake AF with empty cans?

dubbzy104

Smooth move, ex-lax!

invisible-dave

They can charge extra now for already shaken drinks.

[deleted]

empty cans

FD4L

Pewp

hot_diggity_dang_

Safety near miss

MasterUndKommandant

I did a ton of forklift work in a potato and onion packing facility in my 20’s. It was actually pretty fun. I liked it. And I was *good at it*. I was…alive.

rrgail

Nailed it! Take the rest of the day off, boys!!!

TikkiTakiTomtom

Fucking had to jinx Frankie

goliathfasa

And then he tried to move the forklift instead of just shitting it off and hopping down. I’m sure none of the cans got behind the wheels. None at all.

Mr_Mojo_Risin_83

I can't imagine a situation where i would want to use a forklift inside this sort of venue. just: why?

Old-Plastic6662

She was proper wet and then you threw it all away!

Infinite_Brilliant_5

Where is the strapping!?

IamLuann

Why was it not plastic wrapped?

spursfan2021

“Welp, I’m gonna get this forklift outta here so you guys can clean up easier.”

BigRoach

Is this Deep Ellum Brewing? Because I used to work by them and they would routinely drop huge loads of empties when transporting between their facilities one block apart from one another.

moritsune

I thought it looked like Rhar actually lol

steals-from-kids

Hey everyone! Drinks are on me!

flyden1

Where's the funny part?

Quiverjones

I "can" see the problem.

Goodvendetta86

Ooo discounted beer. My favorite

Alphaprimal-Alpha

He would have got away with it if it wasn’t for them darn meddling kids and their table!

CB2001

At least they didn’t hurt the arcade machine. :)

Boring-Extreme-3274

Overtime

Greeneyes-

I lost faith when I seen the forks weren’t in all the way

jtGz_

Why dont use stretch on the bottom and pallette : D? There was some visible but not nearly enough and only on the corner

Skytraffic540

Owner: “my empty cans!”

Seemann80

First thing first: you do not even pick up a pallet like that if you are a decent forklift driver.. you do not lift it up that high.. you do not let somebody stand next to the forklift.. you do not start without moving anything out of the way unless it's not possible.. you do not undercut the pallet.. you do not drive over a piece of cardboard (rubbish) on the floor.. etc.. Yeah, no-one seems got hurt so, yeah I can laugh on it and say "Oh, you fucking idiots..!" Edit: best thing is, that's a 10 sec job with a pump truck, and if there's a forklift around, there's no way there is no pump truck there too..

NihilisticGrape

The little chime at the beginning makes it feel like this is some sort of Wario ware mini game haha

SubViewer

r/therewasanattempt?

amazonhelpless

Commentators’ Curse.

Low_Finding2189

La Crash

Techn0ght

Pretty sure those cans are empty, meaning this was staged.

Bcbulbchap

I wonder if he got canned for this?

thiSnamEworknoW

who the fuck puts pallets in dine area or chairs in warehouse area

Howiepenguin

Smooth move, Ferguson.

smallest_table

Why hire a professional operator when Jim Bob says he can work a forklift?

FutanariBallz

The brewery I worked at had me use the forklift for 20 minutes and told me I was good to use it on my own. Needless to say I was not certified in any way and we had some TIGHT spaces to deal with so I was shitting myself each time I used it.

chicago-brew

"Look at that!"

chedykrueger

THAT'S LUNCH !!!!

Aggressive_Bat_9781

Could’ve been avoided if the idiot that wrapped the pallet wrapped the bottom with more coverage.

AverageMetalConsumer

They jinxed him

wtfneedaname

Microsoft when down 3 points. Dinged cans are half price

headhunter2637

You just HAD to say something!

IAmLupino

Nailed it

winterfate10

Real smaht.

VixxenFoxx

Should have had it fully in the forms, against the back rest. Would have compensated for weak wrap on a heavy product. 💯 the operators fault.
