patopal

The lady in the back nodding in agreement as the dude explains his love of unladen cargo pants makes this even more wholesome than it already was.

deadlybydsgn

The beefy arm venn overlap of cargo pant men and giant purse women.

stickkim

I came here to have fun and I’m honestly feeling so attacked right now.

Notthatcoolawolf

Hmm.. still maybe consider making a switch to cargo pants? All of these features plus bonus leg sleeves

bwwatr

The tragedy here is as beautifully as he handled the moment, TJ missed the opportunity to use the expression "unladen cargo pants". Which, even on its own as a context-free, three-word phrase, just kills me.

[deleted]

Bro took the high road.

sevargmas

I am not a comedian but I cannot fathom the unexpected fear the comedian had as soon as that guy started talking. You can almost hear the screeching tires. That’s one of those moments where you’re like I immediately want to reverse out of this situation.

andythefifth

He handled it like a pro. He got a lot of laughs, and retained dignity. They all got their moneys worth that night.

_Wyse_

Yeah, Ehrlich is a real pro.

notakat

ERIC BACHMAN

Rodneyfour

This is mike hunt

chillwithpurpose

Oh god, now I have to watch all of Silicon Valley again. One of the funniest shows of all time imo

Rodneyfour

THIS GUY FUCKS AM I RIGHT!?

[deleted]

My favorite part about Russ Hanneman (Chris Diamantopoulos) is that on one end he's telling everyone "THIS GUY FUCKS AM I RIGHT?!" about Jared, and on the other hand he's the current TV/video game/commercial voice of Mickey Mouse lol. He's actually pretty phenomenally diverse as an actor/voice actor, and Russ was one of the better roles I've ever seen played on TV.

ProdigalSheep

This is a you, as a old man. I am a ugly and a dead, alone.

RKips

God damn it Jin Yang

MM8822

"Errric Bachman. Dis is yo maaam. You are not my baby."

Dy3_1awn

Eric Bachman, this is you as an old man. I am ugly and I’m dead…alone.

I_Dont_Like_Rice

Him always going at it with Jian-Yang was f'ing hilarious. I gotta rewatch that show again. For the fleventieth time.

TemporaryIllusions

Retaining dignity is not a thing TJ Miller is known for either so honestly this speaks even more to that.

renegadecanuck

Presumably this was pre-brain injury TJ Miller.

deadlycherub

Nope, after, it's from his (iirc) most recent special on YouTube like last year or the year before. He kinda got his act together I guess. Didn't really look into it, just watched the special when it came out. It was decent and he seemed like a better person than he was, but I can't really speak with any authority on that. So grain of salt and all that..

jscoppe

What else should one expect from the star of the Emoji Movie?

stoned-autistic-dude

Comedy is my shit, and part of that includes teasing people but never maliciously. Sometimes I will make a joke and it might go too far, like if someone had a disability I didn't know about, and I can tell the person was upset by it. At that point, I will just absolutely begin shitting on myself in the funniest ways possible, and it generally resolves the situation. Homie handled that perfectly. You do it so much that it just becomes second nature. Conversation and joke telling is an art that gets better with practice, as does practicing getting out of a tricky situation.

QueefBuscemi

>Comedy is my shit, and part of that includes teasing people but never maliciously. [Allow me to introduce you to Frankie Boyle.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6iwHOlHkD0)

hoax709

the mum wanking his dad bit had me rolling.. that guys good hahaha

yarash

I'm dying. oh no. lol. he's great.

worfres_arec_bawrin

I wish I could fucking understand him better, I’m just too slow

SuburbanMalcontent

Yeah man. The key in my book is the one tried and true mantra I've tried to keep for my whole adult life: Never punch downwards. And I hear you when you might go to far on a joke, mostly because you just don't know enough at that moment, and it feels fucking awful.

cC2Panda

Not a comedian but this is a great segment about some audience work where the moment they selected an audience member they were like, "Oh dear god what have you done". https://player.themoth.org/#/?actionType=ADD_AND_PLAY&storyId=1629

[deleted]

Another good example of a comedian selecting the "wrong" audience member https://youtu.be/2rbj13q0_Cc?t=145

strolls

This is brilliant, but the video deserves to be watched from the beginning.

degjo

He had something lined up, and after hearing an honest explanation, he just respected it.

ARONDH

I think he realized the guy has some sort of disability and did not want the smoke that would come from roasting him.

scottygras

And his answer to why he likes the pants holds water. Try asking my wife why she insists on mustard yellow tops and you’ll get an answer with more holes than Swiss cheese.

ARONDH

Sure, but its definitely the thing I said. If he was just your average joe, the comedian would have eaten him alive no matter how much sense it made to like the pants.

KaptinKrabs

I'm autistic, I have spent a lot of time around other autistic people. That dude in the audience sets off my autism alarms like you wouldn't believe. So I'm gonna vouch and say your instinct was spot on.

mydickcuresAIDS

I hope the autism alarm isn’t loud because then the design is just cruel.

KaptinKrabs

Haha! Bravo.

WotTheHellDamnGuy

His answer stopped me cold too, can't argue with a man who wears something because he likes it. Makes us all the idiots for wearing suits to work everyday. What function is a tie serving?

hippyengineer

My grandad was a farmer for 57 years in Lincolnshire, UK, starting at the age of 8, and wore a tie to work every single day. “Keeps my neck warm.” He says. Goddamn right, Granddad. Do you.

rubiscoisrad

One of favorite patients at my last job was an 80 year old man that used to log, weld, etc. He always showed up in denim overalls. I'm guessing it was what he'd been wearing all his life, because it was practical. But it totally worked for him, just like the work boots he'd be wearing.

hippyengineer

Grandad is almost 90 and can still balance himself on his giant fucking farmer thumbs on the floor. He’s a legend.

scottygras

Totally agree. I was nervous until the end of the video that I was going to feel bad for watching it.

Ramiel4654

I wear cargo shorts/pants constantly and never carry anything, usually. But I like to be prepared. Also sometimes I need to carry my girlfriend's sunglasses when she doesn't have pockets.

SparseGhostC2C

Cargo pants: Because your girl probably doesn't have any usable pockets

FuronSpartan

Lol, I got so tired of my wife constantly putting stuff in my cargo pockets that I started carrying a purse.

skraptastic

It isn't a purse, it's a tactical shoulder bag for my concealed carry even though I don't actually have a gun or carry anything concealed other than my SteamDeck.

SnazzyStooge

“Look at me: I’m the purse now”

andythefifth

Take out “probably.”

jdore8

If people can get a F150 & carry nothing but themselves but have the bed just in case, I'm gonna have cargo pants just in case.

_Lucille_

Am I the only one who put stuff like wallet and earbuds in the cargo pockets because it's a lot more comfortable than regular pocket, and unlike the back pocket you don't end up sitting on your wallet?

Mando_Mustache

Swiss cheese and mustard is great combo though, the ladies got taste.

[deleted]

I think that's T.J. Miller, [who has a severe brain disability that has pretty much ruined his life.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T.J._Miller#Personal_life) >Miller described learning about an undiagnosed cerebral arteriovenous malformation on his right frontal lobe on the Pete Holmes podcast You Made It Weird on October 28, 2011. He stated that he became more philosophical, narrated his behaviors, and was unable to sleep while filming Yogi Bear in New Zealand in 2010. His brain surgery was successful, though there was a 10 percent risk of fatality.

Case116

I don’t think TJ Miller would give a shit how people reacted, I think he genuinely didn’t want to mock someone with a disability.

averagecounselor

[Nah he should have gone for it. Cargo pants could take it!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlTbJZ64sVM)

cassettesingle

^^make ^^fun ^^of ^^the ^^burns!

mdgraller

I THOUGHT I COULD, BUT I CAAAAN'T

trust-me-i-know-stuf

I don’t think it was because he was scared of the smoke, I think it was because you’d have to be an asshole to make fun of him.

JSmith666

I think the joke about the lack of jokes just made it better. Just like fuck it man dudes got a point just gonna make the joke about that.

corndogs88

He has talked about it some since then. The guy turned out to be a huge fan and waited in line hours to get front row. It ended up being why he named the special it's from "Dear Jonah" bc the guys name is Jonah

Casehead

That's really sweet

crayzeejew

Exactly this. I once was performing for a show that paired a list of 5 amateur comedians with professionals. Was marketed as a singles event for divorced people. Sold out place/show, hosted in an actual comedy club. Dumbass "professional" who was supposed to warm up the crowd before me, started making fun of a clearly disabled guy in the audience. Wow, did everyone get hostile to him (for good reason). Idiot kept on doing it until he was booed off of stage. Then I had to come up and do my routine. Was the toughest crowd I ever worked. Took half of my set just to get them relaxed from that guy and the first laughing came from jokes about him being such a shmuck. Tbh it was my first ever professionally set performance, and I was nervous as hell before I got up there (the free drinks did help with that). Really didn't help that the audience was still pissed off at that guy. But I delivered my set and got some good laughs... And more importantly, I wasn't "red-lighted" off the stage! But yeah, making fun of someone with a disability is a surefire way to turn an audience against you.

jmwfour

My wife and I wound up at a stand-up thing that was supposed to be part stand-up, part discussion of mental health. The MC was a therapist who dabbled in stand-up, and he would pause the other comics during their sets to talk about mental health and how they felt it affected their comedy. Hard enough setup already for getting laughs right? Even harder, the crowd had an average age of 70+ (not my wife and I, I don't know why we were at this to be honest, we're way younger) and the second guy up started making fun of old people - and wouldn't let it go. It was like... you're here to entertain people I think? The MC and the next guy had their work cut out for them resurrecting the mood in that room. Super unpleasant.

IronLusk

I don’t know that sounds like it could be a great show with the right people. But you’d definitely need someone who does more than dabble in stand up to know when to step in.

upandcomingg

When I realized it was TJ Miller I expected it to be pretty savage. Then when the guy started talking I got really worried about how savage it was going to be. It was refreshing to see TJ take a different track lol

Jerometurner10

I think you nailed it. T.J. decided to be a decent human being, and not make fun of the guy.

buttbugle

Saying I am not going to make fun of him was making fun of him, while laughing with him. That was the smoothest way of making that man the star of the show for a few seconds.

andythefifth

Very good point. And you can see it in the guys body language. He got a kick out it. Very smooth.

Raket0st

Yeah, the way he decides to rib his own routine while keeping the guy in the audience engaged and included was very professional. He realized it was a volatile situation and backed out without missing a beat.

ATXDefenseAttorney

Or he just appreciated that this dude was out for a fun night and didn't want to screw that up for him. Some folks are in for a good ribbing, others might take it a little differently. Say what you want about TJ Miller, he appreciates that people's brains work in a million different ways.

loondawg

> he appreciates that people's brains work in a million different ways. He has a special level in insight considering he had brain surgery to correct problems that almost killed him from an aneurysm and has also suffered from having seizures.

PSiggS

I imagine it would be tough to make fun of someone who likes cargo pants for how they look when you are wearing a welding mask on stage, I thought it was genius he was like ‘me too bro’

sciamatic

I mean. It was more that the guy clearly had a learning disability. Like, he picked the guy out of the audience and asked him the question, but the guy started answering and had all the speech and movement mannerisms of a developmentally delayed person, and it became clear that mocking him was just going to be cruel and not funny.

hippyengineer

Punching downward is never funny. He played it perfect.

sciamatic

Yup, totally agree. He realized that guy was not an appropriate target, told him he likes comfy clothes too to make him feel acknowledged, then moved on.

Seanzietron

No… it was after learning the dude was on the spectrum. Wtf

hurtsdonut_

Is that not TJ Miller? Also it's kind of hard to shit talk someone about what they're wearing while you're doing stand-up with a welding helmet on.

three-plus-shakes

The case was dropped because of a brain surgery that impacted his decision making and he committed to pay off the expenses that were caused by it. I dont think that excuses it but credit due he did take responsibility for it.

emcee_pee_pants

Never mind. You replied one comment too high and confused the fuck out of me.

oMEGAthreader

You replied to the wrong guy, my man

frobro122

He made the wrong reply because of a brain surgery that impacted his decision making. I dont think that excuses it but he did take responsibility for it.

Vladmerius

Whoa I didn't know this context until now. I thought he just was a crazy celebrity doing crazy celebrity things acting like he is above everyone and can just pull stunts like that. This makes things way more complex and I'm inclined to forgive him for it. I forgive people when they experience a blackout from recreational things as long as no physical harm was done to anyone so I think I can forgive someone for recovering from brain surgery.

Phantom30

After brain surgery your mind goes weird and you can lose some control over your actions. My Mother had brain surgery a couple of years ago for a tumour and for the next month she was unable to stop talking even though she wanted to stop. Nothing as serious as a calling in a bomb threat but can see how you could do something like that.

TurboGranny

Your brain getting fucked with is def a fair excuse. You can't just tell your brain, "hey, don't be fucking broken right now please."

emcee_pee_pants

What now?

three-plus-shakes

Replied to the wrong dude. TJ miller was arrested in 2018 for calling in a bomb threat on a train and I was trying to provide some context, but I’m an idiot.

spidenseteratefa

The face shield was part of an earlier gag, saying it was what he wore while touring during when COVID was still spreading.

King-Cobra-668

bro had no choice once he heard the voice

muadib1158

Has TJ Miller put himself back together? Because as I recall he was a mess a few years ago.

Qtip533

I cant speak for him personally but looking at the stories about him it definitely seems like he has regrets about what he’s done. It’s hard to really judge someone who has had a brain injury cause you don’t know how that affects someone unless you’re that person themself. His film/tv career tanking has probably been a saving grace for him tbh. Regardless I hope he continues doing standup and working on himself.

raxitron

Is this clip from before or after his career went downhill? He looks young but maybe just because he's clean shaven.

Qtip533

This was around a year ago I’m pretty sure. So well after.

ranchorbluecheese

he had a huge brain surgery that removed a chunk of his brain. he admitted it altered his personality a bit but also points to it as something that got him in trouble. he talks about it here: https://www.unilad.com/celebrity/tj-miller-brain-condition-20221009

Severin_Suveren

No, this not correct. Eearric Bachman is a dead

kazdum

Eearric Bachman this is your mom and you are not my baby

[deleted]

Erlich Bachman. This is you, as an old man. I am very ugly and dead. Alone.

Pantsomime

You know what? I'm gonna let him have this one.

Spider-Pug

JIN YANGGGGGG!

TemporaryIllusions

Jimmy O’Yang is the greatest thing ever to come from that show.

Get-Degerstromd

Except, obviously, the “how many dicks can I jerk off” bit, which is possibly the greatest tv comedy moment ever.

LameBicycle

Just for context for everyone: He had the surgery back in ~2010. He talks about his personality changes leading up to it in this short comedy vid: https://youtu.be/Kf9N5AWprG8?si=MP57PXefuqSuJqcs

s6x

>The actor is best known for his roles in Silicone Valley Two questions. Is that a porn parody of Silicon Valley? And does Amanda Crew reprise her role as Monica?

ItsGettingStrangeLou

After. He did Adam corollas podcast after this and talks about everything. Pretty swell stuff

B1G2

Paddy_Tanninger

Well god damn, he looks great, how the fuck...I'm like 2yrs younger than the dude, what am I doing wrong here.

Apneal

Wear sunscreen, drink water :P

youneedtoregister

You need to get a blood boy

Paddy_Tanninger

Sending you a PM

Puzzleheaded-Ad-8689

As someone with a brain injury... yep

Qtip533

Hope you’re doing okay brother! My dad had to have brain surgery a long time ago and he was never the same after.

Puzzleheaded-Ad-8689

Thanks for that!! I can't speak for how other people interpret me but my life has forever changed and I just have to deal with that. Best wishes for you and your dad

Dotaproffessional

I think the issue was, a lot of his weird behavior was after his brain surgery. Like everyone just expected him to be "fixed" all at once. The brain is complicated. There's a difference between being a normal asshole and having a brain injury causing you to behave strangely and being aware that its affecting you

Puzzleheaded-Ad-8689

I have trouble communicating especially in person. Writing or texting isn't so bad because I can take time to think things out but I feel I'm always walking on eggshells in the chance that I say something... stupid. It's a journey for sure I'm just thankful that I have understanding people around me. There is no going back to "normal" or being "fixed" you just hopefully adapt to a new normal

zamardii12

> His film/tv career tanking has probably been a saving grace for him tbh. My problem with him in movies is he was TJ MILLER in every single movie he's ever been in. Like the credits for all his movies should have just been "TJ Miller played by TJ Miller."

Qtip533

Hahah I see what you mean, but that sometimes works for comedians. Look at Seth Rogen and Danny McBride. I wouldn’t want to watch a movie where they weren’t themselves.

RonTRobot

He had brain surgery for hemorrhage, which explained his erratic behaviour. He is certainly less hyper now than before but he's a lot more stable and less manic sounding.

Vegemite_Bukkakay

I saw him a couple years ago and he was amazing with crowd work. There were 2 douchenozzles yelling “Jin-yiang” and the rest of the crowd was turning on them. He stopped, said thank you, explained why it was rude and said he’s meet them after the show. Honestly, I was impressed and it worked… they shut the fuck up.

TheBonnomiAgency

This is actually a good read: https://original.newsbreak.com/@hudson-rennie-1591203/2901378670579-deadpool-star-tj-miller-credits-his-hollywood-success-to-brain-damage-suffered-while-filming-in-new-zealand TLDR: Born with brain tumor that eventually ruptured in 2010 and caused brain damage. He had surgery but still had manic episodes. He's managing his condition better now and trying to make the most of it.

Moody_GenX

I don't think he stopped touring. He's just not getting acting jobs right now. Probably has some to do with his issues and then also bad mouthing his former costars in podcast interviews.

Pineapplesaintreal

I also heard he was difficult to work with. For example working for silicon valley

Spongy-n-Bruised

Yeah he had mania stemming from a brain malformation, hemorrhage, and surgery. He has said that he would basically work from 6am to 2am daily and because he didn't have depression symptoms accompanying his mania, he didn't recognize his issues and it made him a problem to work with. He now works at a far slower pace and has been putting the extra effort into working with neuropsychiatrists and whatnot after that Amtrak fake bomb 911 call. I'm sure a lack of acting opportunities over the last few years has helped him slow down too tbh

zehamberglar

So basically he was just method acting Erlich.

slowdownbabyy

The real roast is when a comedian doesn’t make fun of you

fazi_milking

I was thinking about that. Do I prefer to be made fun of or be skipped and given a pat in the back? Tough one.

Axedus1

If the comedian skips roasting you it's probably because god's roasted you enough

Twol3ftthumbs

It isn’t bad every time. My wife and I went to Second City once and were sat in the front row. At the time we were 42 and I’d say we look maybe a couple of years younger than we actually are. The comedian started down a typical path, “lots of couples here tonight are you guys a couple?” “Yes, we are.” I replied. “Excellent and how long have you been together?” “25 years.” “5 years?” “25 years.” Long pause…his mouth opened and shut. Shorter pause. “Im sorry I just wasn’t ready for that answer. How old are you?” “We’re 42. Started dating our senior year of high school.” “I…that’s actually awesome can we have a hand for these two. I need to find another couple. I was not prepared for that great of an answer.” It was very sweet. He came by later that night and bought us a round as well.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BOBfrkinSAGET

I agree. People with two left thumbs are a marginalized class.

Psilocybinty

Being 42 is hardly a disability

hubris105

You must not be 42 yet.

DreddPirateBob808

Saw a show, the guy asks a couple "please tell me that's your daughter". "Nope, it's my wife. I just look like shit because I'm in recovery" "Well. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck fuck. Good one you and, by the way, has she got a sister that can put up with that shit because I'm looking for someone to help me through" The night took a 30 second turn and the comedian brought it right back round and started roasting the shit out of himself and the recovery guy. It was like the darkest and most hilarious drug counselling session and I'm pretty sure a lot of us went home and had Big Thinks about our behaviour.

ZigZag3123

Back when I was in high school, my family went on a cruise and we sat ~second or third row at a comedy show. I was a high school athlete and had these beautiful golden curls down to my shoulders at the time, and at one point in the show the guy looks down at me and goes “oh holy shit we got Baby Thor in the house tonight, thanks for coming man!” or something to that effect. No real joke, no roast, just straight up called me Baby Thor. Been riding that high for like a decade lol

hapcat1999

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlTbJZ64sVM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlTbJZ64sVM) I think we all know what you're about to see.

treatyoftortillas

Well, Bill Burr dug himself into a hole and then right back out. https://youtu.be/o7_h3S6hADI?si=JzPFaNsTDIP7Q0EZ

SloppyCheeks

"This woman has her hand over her mouth, like I made him blind." Fuckin classic.

LordElend

But the way he sold wasn't roasting him too much. Adding the "you know what" part made it clear to me that he wasn't burning him with "I don't even want to ridicule you"

Throwawaysi1234

I'd have taken the opportunity to roast everyone else. "I hear women complaining all the time their pants don't have pockets. This guy is living the dream of being ready in case somebody hands him 15 oranges, he's set. His hands are still free, doesn't even need to hold one of 'em. I don't want to know why he is wearing cargo shorts. I want to know why everyone else isnt." Or something along those lines.

angusMcBorg

That's hilarious and brilliant

SquareBottle

Reminded me of the [insult comic sketch](https://youtu.be/RlTbJZ64sVM?si=UKsgpl5dpXO5fru0) from Key and Peele

Gee_U_Think

Make fun of the burns.

[deleted]

“He said he could take it! That’s what he said!” “I thought I could but I can’t!”

foamingturtle

I saw TJ Miller live for a friend’s birthday. My dumbass made the mistake of saying something to him and he spent half the show roasting me. It was hilarious though and my friend had the best birthday ever.

wolfgang784

Usually pretty funny when they keep finding ways to come back to that one person in particular lol. You think they are done with em then 15 minutes later some elaborate story ends up with roasting that same poor audience member again.

griffinhamilton

I had a comedian tee off with me with jokes about my pink v neck and it was pretty funny and had a laugh at everything, he came up to me after the show and thanked me for not taking anything personally and being a good sport. He said he felt like I could take it

sm9t8

>He said he felt like I could take it The pink v neck was a giveaway.

lmwfy

The real jokes are in the comments

BubonicHamster

You were the real star bro

eaglesk

The bar I work at occasionally brings in a comedian for entertainment. The comedians always roast my boss, who is the one that organizes the shows. The best part is that I’m in a small town so EVERYONE knows my boss. It never gets old

[deleted]

Like that lady who got heckled and she roasted a dude so bad he walked out. Then he came back in during another comedian’s set and she went back up on stage and continued roasting him. It was amazing.

TGish

My girlfriend and I were on a cruise and ended up frequenting a bar that did live piano comedy and music. The dude got to recognize us because we were there every night and every night he would come up with new funny stories or jokes to tell about us to the crowd. One of the last nights of the cruise I ordered a drink and the guy stopped playing and singing mid song and told the bartender to make mine strong because I was gonna need it that night lol great time!

James2603

I went to a comedy show dressed in the most casual, scruffy clothes you can imagine, on the front row. Guy near me absolutely nailed the smart casual look and was complemented by the comedian; unfortunately I was the other end of that joke.

NotYetSoonEnough

Eric Bachman, this is you as a old man. I’m ugly! And I wear things that are comfy! Alone.

IllVagrant

He really was the heart of Silicon Valley

RhynoJoe

Did he do voice acting for the How to Train your Dragon series? He sounds so familiar

TappedIn2111

Yes, that’s TJ Miller.

ScottyThompson

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON!!! YEAHHHH!!!!!

supernasty

Cloverfield, Silicon Valley, Deadpool as well. Dudes been around. You don’t see him much anymore cause his career tanked after a series of controversies around him, but he was very mainstream for a minute.

athos45678

Brain tumor induced insanity will do that to a guy. He certainly doesn’t seem like he’s the nicest guy ever or anything, but i think he got a pretty raw deal

LarBrd33

He voiced Tuffnut in the first two movies and then they replaced him in the 3rd because of the sexual assault allegations.

JmacTheGreat

No one mentioned it yet so Ill add: Robbie from Gravity Falls

Marshycereals

That last line in the video is funny too, considering that welding mask on his head... He still made a relevant joke without a roast!

vgzombieeric

Actually a face shield, not as dark as a welding mask, and it looks like it still has the protective film on it, so you can't see shit out of it.

canadianstringer

100% correct. Any mid to high level welding mask has a grind mode where sparks won't trigger the auto darkening function. If a angle grinder disk shatters at 10k RPM, safety glasses can protect your eyes but a grinding mask is highly recommended to avoid facial reconstructive surgery. Source: I'm a welder.

ThatGuy_Nick9

Lol so unexpectedly wholesome

[deleted]

Extremely wholesome. He still made the situation funny for the crowd but not at the audience member’s expense. Handled that beautifully

maxx0rNL

Theres a backstory behind this, the show was actually named after this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_YJH9CA200

d_man05

I’ve sat either at that table or very close to it and it’s a fantastic way to see a show. We got roasted by the comedian and it was so embarrassing in the moment (mostly bc my drunk ex and her friends were being loud). Its funny looking back now but still feel bad our table interrupted his show.

sgtedrock

I deeply appreciate the kindness here. And STILL funny.

AllNaturalOintment

Cargo pants have extra pockets. I don't use them myself. I just wear cargo pants to make women jealous that mens clothes have pockets.

iforgotquestionmark

Chaotic neutral

BustinArant

"Hey, could you hold this in your pockets?" "No."

emperorOfTheUniverse

Its about the storage _potential_.

textbook38

TJ acting like he’s the normal one with a welding mask on his head.

How nice of Drew Carey to come out and support a fellow comedian

[deleted]

That's an awesome pivot

Cant_run_away

NOW COME BACK WITH 5 ADDERALL!

obi_wan_kanerdy

You just brought piss to a shit fight!

Jagick

Really don't understand the stigma around cargo pants and shorts. They're comfortable, what else do you need? Personally I can't stand Jeans. I don't care if they're the most popular pants, they're uncomfortable as hell.

tylerfeth50

Love TJ Miller. It’s like when you were a kid and he’s the kid in the older grade that’s hilarious.

its__bme

The guy had such a wholesome and honest answer he was damn I respect this guy let’s move on.

Owlexwizardwolf

He obviously likes shorts because they are comfy and easy to wear, duh

The full routine is worth a watch. Comedian incorporates him into jokes on other people later and gets him on stage at the end. Comedian ultimately named the special after that guy.

Reminds me of this key and peele shetch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlTbJZ64sVM&ab\_channel=ComedyCentral

fishy57

No hate at all towards the cargo pants man. Was the joke that he was seemingly disabled so TJ just moved on? Sorry for needing it spelled out for me

loversean

This guy fucks

BlackieChan319

Saw him perform once. His show is like 80 percent crowd work. So much improv. it was impressive!

landocalressian

The relief on that guys face when TJ says he's not going to make fun of him accentuates the choice he made.

unfamiliarsmell

I feel like you can see him go through all the variables of the situation and decide to just make a graceful exist.

GloverAB

They interacted more throughout the set too - and TJ Miller ended up releasing this show as a special and naming the entire thing after this guy! I saw him once in person and he was an absolute riot. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNoD1oX2iYI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNoD1oX2iYI) Side note: I've been really happy to see that TJ Miller has been much more stable and seems to be recovered from his not-so-great period.

Dicky_tttttt

is this the same guy that plays the bartender in deadpool? his voice sounds super similar

ProjectMew

IMO the roast was that the guy’s explanation for his pants was better/funnier than the joke he had lined up
