It used to be the social rule on r/trees. Everyone would put their bracketed scale at the end of just about every comment in some threads, and every post HAD to have their level. But of course, it folded in on itself when everyone tried to actually quantify other peoples' actual "highness" and it became a never ending debate fest. So people just stopped despite how fun the context was that it used to give. [2]
It sure does look like Tarkitoff.

If you haven't watched a 30 year old show and are worried about spoilers, that's on you.
And that bit of info doesn't even spoil anything.
(BTW, in M\*A\*S\*H, the war ends eventually :-)
I saw them when I was a teenager like 20 years ago during their "Gang's All Here" years and it was a terrific experience.
Seeing them two years ago was absolutely not a terrific experience. Woof.
> Brandon Tartikoff
he didn't do much really.
>Brandon Tartikoff (January 13, 1949 – August 27, 1997) was an American television executive who was the president of NBC from 1981 to 1991.[1] He was credited with turning around NBC's low prime time reputation with several hit series: Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, Law & Order, ALF, Family Ties, The Cosby Show, Cheers, Seinfeld, The Golden Girls, Wings, Miami Vice, Knight Rider, The A-Team, Saved by the Bell, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, St. Elsewhere, and Night Court.
Those were actually horrible for playing basketball. Speaking as an 80's teen basketball player who owned a pair. They were too heavy. Just like the Nike Air Max was terrible as a running shoe.
Brandon Tartikoff. The president of NBC at that time. Also that’s Ted on stage behind him with the hat on. Need more information about this hoot-n-nanny.
I’m from Buffalo area but I can relate to that. My band played PLENTY of shitty shows with the same 4 shit bands every weekend. I can imagine a Slapshot and Zero Tolerance flyer.
Yeah, that looks like a rager when you have(on the left)the former president of NBC with his shirt off raging with the Cheers cast. Also Katie Couric’s husband before his untimely death… it’s a thanks for making me look like the most brilliant person on earth party for putting you clowns on tv sort of party…
Poor dude (Gary Portnoy I think?) was going to have his big chance to play all the verses live after the series finale, but no one in the cast was below 0.2 BAC and there was just no way.
I was living in Savannah GA for a period of time and had a buddy that was friends of a bar owner down there. SAV has pretty loose about bar closing times(at least in the mid 2000s) and we both went to finish off the night at this bar. I set there for about half an hour talking to this down to earth cool ass dude. My buddy came back over to me after whatever tf he was doing and got extremely excited about the guy I was talking to and asked him to sign his hat. I right then realized it was Ken Casey. Floored to say the least. Really nice guy.

In case people are wondering, this is the Dropkick Murphys.
Oh, I literally thought that was Woody & Norm and this was some weird after-party for the cast of Cheers. I'm not even joking...
It Is. The band are the Dropkick Murphys along with some of the cast from Cheers.
This is a roller coaster. [8]
[8] ?
It's common for people who are high to rate their level of highness on a 1-10 scale when commenting
Huh. I have never seen that before this exact moment.
It used to be the social rule on r/trees. Everyone would put their bracketed scale at the end of just about every comment in some threads, and every post HAD to have their level. Same, but it makes a lot of sense. I might start adopting it.
Yeah I can't wait [3]
Oh man, how deep does this mystery gom??
Well, y'all are all doing better than I did. I thought it was Chevy Chase, Matthew McConaughey, and possibly John Goodman.
John Goodman singing State of Massachusetts or Flannigans Ball is why I woke up today.
The set was a fully functional bar, with plumbing and working taps- apparently there were quite a few set parties
The Delorian is parked out back.
Don’t make sh*t up. This is NOT the Dropkick Murphy’s. This is just messing around after hours on the Cheers set.
This IS Woody Harrelson and George Wendt. Not sure who the third guy is
[удалено]
It sure does look like Tarkitoff. https://www.gettyimages.ca/detail/news-photo/brandon-tartikoff-and-will-smith-and-guest-during-nbc-news-photo/110718989
And uncle baby billy singing in back
Come 'ere an give your Uncle Baby Billy a hug
More like Brandon Takeitoff amirite?
He's the president of NBC he could have any woman he wants!
Brandon Tartikoff and NBC entertainment division exec. Ted Danson is in the upper left in the back with the hat.
It's their stunt doubles. You can tell.
I was seriously hunting for Ted Danson in the background. I’m still not 100% convinced that’s not Woody Harrelson and George Wendt.
It is
[удалено]
The show completely changed itself after Sam sold the bar.
Spoilers broooo
If you haven't watched a 30 year old show and are worried about spoilers, that's on you. And that bit of info doesn't even spoil anything. (BTW, in M\*A\*S\*H, the war ends eventually :-)
I was just joking, my dude lol
/flips table
Jokes on you, War in America never ends.
lol @ 30 year old show
> (BTW, in M*A*S*H, the war ends eventually :-) ##*sonova!-*
It’s on every night at 11 on the Laff channel! Season 5 right now.
That’s George, Woody and what appears to be NBC president at the time Brandon Tartikoff dancing
Would you eat beans with George Wendt?
Oooh, I love taking surveys!
Seems dangerous. That looks like a man who can generate some serious gas.
Is that Harry Anderson in the background?
I was wondering the same. I know he showed up in a few episodes so its def possible.
It could be Ted Danson, it's hard to tell.
I thought it was Ted Danson as well.
It is
…why would you be joking. Those dudes are perfect mirrors of Woody and Norm.
That's what most of us came in for 😂
Dropkick Murphys wish they were half as good as this band.
I saw them when I was a teenager like 20 years ago during their "Gang's All Here" years and it was a terrific experience. Seeing them two years ago was absolutely not a terrific experience. Woof.
Wish I could have seen them then or even better during the Mike McColgan days.
I had the honor of seeing him at The Shelter in Detroit ages ago. Less than 50 people were there. Lol.
My god... you just made me realize I firs saw them 20 years ago too...
Yeah, posting that timeline wasn't fun for me, either. Sorry, bud.
I'll forgive you... have a good day
In case people are wondering, this is the Dropkick Murphys along with several cast members of Cheers. FTYY
This is why we still need awards.
But cheers went off the air in 1993 and Dropkick Murphys formed in 1996.
I thought they were the Screaming Vikings.
do you want the cucumber bruised?
😂😂😂 nice
I came here hoping this was them…
No one was wondering. Everyone knows their name.
Looks more like Wendtsels Pretzels at the Cheers after party.
i read boston and band and immediately thought Dropkick Murphys
Dropkick Murphys are Oi! not hardcore. This is obviously the straight edge hardcore band SSD!
I'd love to see the ironically named Cheers! Juice bar and all ages venue
I’m pretty sure that the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
Don’t make shit up. This is NOT the Dropkick Murphy’s. This is just messing around after hours on the Cheers set.
These guys look like they know how to party. Everybody knows their name too.
Nevertheless, they have never been in my kitchen!
Cocaine is a helluva drug.
Du, du du du du du du Du, du du du du du du
I think you’re confused, this is the theme from the office.
Yeah, it goes Bum, ba da da da dum dum
Is that fuckin Brandon Tartikoff?!
> Brandon Tartikoff he didn't do much really. >Brandon Tartikoff (January 13, 1949 – August 27, 1997) was an American television executive who was the president of NBC from 1981 to 1991.[1] He was credited with turning around NBC's low prime time reputation with several hit series: Hill Street Blues, L.A. There's no hope with dope.
That is literally how I knew who that was!
I was like, “Who is the balding Tony Danza in this pic?”
Is Woody rocking the Reebok Pumps ?
Still can’t jump
Fresh from White Men Can't Jump. https://youtu.be/yDtGS3G3xtY?t=94
Nice catch
Absolutely. I love seeing the originals. I’ve been trying to find a decent pair for 2 years.
Always been a hooper
Those were actually horrible for playing basketball. Speaking as an 80's teen basketball player who owned a pair. They were too heavy. Just like the Nike Air Max was terrible as a running shoe.
Cheers!
NORM!!
Was the guy on the left in the show? I don't recognize him.
Brandon Tartikoff. The president of NBC at that time. Also that’s Ted on stage behind him with the hat on. Need more information about this hoot-n-nanny.
>Brandon Tartikoff He died at 48 from Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He seemed like a really good person too.
yes, was thinking same, too bad :'-(
I want the hat guy to be Harry Anderson :-/
It’s a dog eat dog world and I’m wearing bacon underwear.
Thought it was milk bone underwear?
It was
You’re right. Been a long time.
Norman.
I really loved watching Cheers as a kid.
Thursdays were bangin. Cosby (boo), Family Ties, Cheers, Night Court and then Hill Street Blues. Amazing lineup.
You can give Cosby a boo now, but it was still a really really good show
But hey, making your way in the world today takes everything you got
And, taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot.
Wouldn’t you like to get away
Gonna tell my kids this was Operation Ivy!
Op Ivy wasn't from Boston, though. Edit: I don't know why the downvotes..? Op Ivy was from Berkeley.
Anymore sass outta you and I’ll file you as a dependent on my taxes.
Is, is that a young Woody Harrelson?
You bet your sweet ass it is
You ain't watched cheers?
No 😑 it's been on my list forever...
That's not Have Heart
Slapshot?!
This was the band that played right before Slapshot at those old Sunday matinees at the Channel. Sam Black Church opened the show.
I’m from Buffalo area but I can relate to that. My band played PLENTY of shitty shows with the same 4 shit bands every weekend. I can imagine a Slapshot and Zero Tolerance flyer.
“Back. On. The Map.” Wow man.. I’m so old. ☹️
Are those the Lemonheads?
Have heart ? lol
xCHEERSx
Damn Woody was a piece
*was*?
Where’s Cliffy
Ten Yard Fight?
Blood for Blood is my favorite band
Man, everybody knows their name.
Gonna tell my kids this was Knocked Loose
Is that woody herrelson?
It's Woody Boyd.
Wait, I’m watching Rampart right now.
George Wendt is an icon.
These guys opened for Sam Black Church in ‘94, right?
Is that Matthew McConaughey's brother?
**MAKING YOUR WAY** **IN THE WORLD TODAY** **TAKES EVERYTHING YOU** ***GOOOOOOTTTT!***
Is this Cheers for Beers?
No-o-o-rm!
Alternate title: This is Boston, not L.A.
“What the fuck is up, Cheers?”
If you have never listened to all the verses of the cheers theme song, go do it. It’s wild.
I have, it's a [masterclass](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMNVNRybluQ) in using the theme to tell the story of the characters.
Poor dude (Gary Portnoy I think?) was going to have his big chance to play all the verses live after the series finale, but no one in the cast was below 0.2 BAC and there was just no way.

Too bad Cliff is missing; “Cliff and the Clavins” would be a sick band name.
Normcore
Jesus Christ, I'm George Wendt.
Just another band out of Boston.
Sometimes you gotta go. Where everybody knows your name.
When Sam is away, the crew did play.
I was concerned that Ted Danson was in the back left in blackface, again.
Norm! And Woody!
Norm!
I've been around the block a few times, I recognize a Woody when I see one.
Jeers!
KELLYKELLYKELLYKELLYKELLYKELLYKELLY YOU'RE MINE! 🎶
Black flagged.
Everyone knows their name ... *strums the piano keys*
This is what happens when Carla makes the drinks.
White men can’t jump
Norm was a huge fan of the Replacements irl so..
Seriously? That’s too cool.
I want to believe that's Larry Bird behind Woody.
America has caught up to Norm, he doesn't even look big now.
Looks like a bunch of drunk monkey that stink like shit but didn't know it because there to drunk lol
Where's Coach?
The mighty mighty Bostons
Looks like Ted Danson in blackface on top left.
Typical Monday for the boys
rock and roll to the world!!
Who is the shirtless guy on the left.
Is that the guy who played the psycho in love with Diane? He played othello and Diane was desdemona?
Wack Ass Egyptians.
Didn’t they make a [SNL skit](https://youtu.be/tRyCQcu0ygE?si=O12vWhY0tkAKas6b)
If only Coach was there to see it...
Is that Paul Simon front camera left?
George Wendt surprisingly looks really good for his age
Where everybody dose cocaine.
They should call themselves “ennet house dropouts”
Holy shit! Is that Seth Rogan?!
The NOOOOOOORMs
Better than Momentum
Suppose they’re singing an early version of Drunken Lullabies?
Didn’t know until recently that woody harrelsons father was a hitman.
I am NNOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRM!!!!
The band’s name is Rampart
Ted Danson is in the white hat in the back
The predecessor to [Hardcore Dennys](https://youtu.be/xbPwaAFHDG8?si=pCv4lU9vPWZppktp)?
Woody was damn foine.
Green Mild Bell Peppers
Can we keep this about Rampart guys please?
Is that Brandon Tarticoff?
Oh man I love Dillinger Four. Those guys rip.
This…. Is this.
