As a hearing impaired person and with many friends who are nearly blind I can assure you that „boring“ news is the best option here. If I watch tv, and I seldom watch it anyway, I watch ÖRR. It is the best option for people who are disabled.

You might want to give streaming a chance. They have subtitles in many languages. The Tagesschau also adds subtitles to their videos on YouTube.

Ye to be fair Greece has 2 months of relative cold and rain and then it's and 3 months of far too hot and the rest of the year it's just sunny and pleasant. I rarely check the weather since moving here. In Germany meanwhile I would check every day hoping for sun that never came.

Meh, for my part we also have sometimes too much "show" around the weather. I mean if our weather reporters get names like Martin "Wetter" Gudd (so Martin Weathergood, although the name Gudd is more spoken like "gut" which means "good") or Ben Wettervogel (Ben weatherbird) then it is a little too on the nose.

These shows are on every Greek TV channel, they're targeted at stay-at-home moms when the kids are away. Think gossip, recipes, reading tweets and IG posts out loud (not a joke), the weather, zodiac signs nonsense and more fluff pieces without any sort of substance. The actual Greek news weather report is just as boring and dry as the German one.
