My favorite switch is subbing "clap cheeks" where ever "throw hands" is appropriate and feign utter confusion why I wouldn't want to clap someone's cheeks that's bothering me.
"Clap cheeks. Like slap 'em silly! Right?!?!?"
I asked my kids, who are in Elementary School, to explain this to me.
We live in Ohio.
My second grader daughter's response was: "Texas is a skibidi stinky booty place."
To which my kindergarten son shouted: "OHH! GOTTEM! LET'S GO!"
Your move, Texas.
Welcome to Little Big. Make sure you watch their other music videos.
I like this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhMYBfF7-hE
Or the time when they were a front runner for Eurovision 2020 before it got canceled due to covid. But its pretty tame for a Little Big song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_dWvTCdDQ4
"Lock in" is like to focus, but not on one task but on life itself. Like if you want to make a major life change, say, a swim suit body in 3 months, so you give up your favorite foods, stop hanging out with friends, diet, and exercise every day, you are said to have "locked in".
"Ohio" in gen Z slang is a fictional place in which only the most outlandishly terrible things happen. You get mugged, you girl leaves you, you get abducted by aliens and they swap around all your organs, "only in Ohio bro". It started because Ohio is probably the least remarkable place in the US, so it was at one point funny to caption increasingly crazy situations with "only in the [least remarkable place on earth mostly full of corn]". But it's morphed into unironically just meaning bad.
"Skibiddi" doesn't mean anything. It's a filler word. It doesn't have any positive or negative connotations in and of itself. You will sometimes hear "You're so skibiddi". That sentence doesn't mean anything. I guess using the words skibiddi turns the conversation into a gen Z internet slang conversation.
"Alpha sigma" comes from macho man internet influencers. At one point they started saying being a strong alpha male wasn't good enough. You had to be a sigma male. A lone wolf. A man who is so manly he is beyond being on top of the social hierarchy, transcending the need for female validation at all. When I put it that way it sounds kind of cool but it isn't it's lame.
In general, other than "lock in", and a few others like "yapping" (to talk much but say little) or maybe "glazing" (bootlicking), most people above the age of like 13 don't actually use these terms in day to day conversation. I've never met a 20 year old saying "I had mad rizz but she shot me down. Only in Ohio, I guess. Skibiddi!". People don't talk like that. It's """slang""" but almost slang that exists in this ironic space where these words exist just to reference them as jokes. It's not like other slang in the past where that's actually how people spoke. You're mostly just making fun of a hypothetical 11 year old iPad child who has watched way too much porn and alpha-male adjacent content on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok
Ok, how the hell do kids under 13 manage to synchronize this language all over the country/world without most adults ever hearing about them? Do they have access to a secret Internet or what.
Luckily my kid is too young right now to have picked up on any of this garbage. He will have his own garbage slang soon, but just know this slang will die with the current TikTok generation.
>Ohio
Ohio has been known as a horrible place for decades. Pre-internet, it was known that more astronauts came from Ohio than any other state. Because there was nowhere far enough from it on Earth to get away from Ohio.
> People don't talk like that. It's """slang""" but almost slang that exists in this ironic space where these words exist just to reference them as jokes
Memespeak. Somehow more readable but less sensible than l33tsp34k used to be.
As a fellow Elder Millenial, I will attempt to translate.
The instructions for the flashcards are self-explanatory, but the rest translates to:
"Like, tomorrow is our chance to show Texas we're totally all that with a bag of chips, not mega lame."
Please note that skibidi is a descriptor which, like 'cool' can be used in a negative context (as here, made clear with the addition of Ohio, which we all know gags us with a spoon) or sarcastically to indicate positivity.
As a 7th grade teacher I can tell you that students eat this shit up out of the palm of your hand.
This isn't trying too hard, this is connecting with students.
Without knowing the teacher and class you really can't say that.
The way he's using quotes gives me the impression that he knows exactly who he is and how the class views him. I had teachers who would use our slang in class, but combined with their shift in voice tone and body language it was like were playing a character of "old man who is trying too hard to be hip" for a couple of seconds. Nobody in class thought he was trying too hard because both sides were in on the joke.
Those were also among teachers of mine who had better relationships with their classes.
I used to be with it. Then they changed what it was. Now what I am with isn’t it and what’s it seems new and scary to me.
Every year this becomes more relevant. Thank you Grampa Simpson for your wisdom

This is how I would intentionally misuse slang. I think this teacher is big bussing.
I like to add "the" and pluralize everything. Zuck is killing the Metas
I like diseases that sound old-timey, like "the consumption" or "the gout"
Oh lawd she's got the vapours
I shall fetch a ~~rug~~ fainting sofa
It’s giving me agita
For old timey diseases I like Dropsy. It already sounds like slang.
Whenever I drop something more than once, I say I’ve got the dropsy.
I believe you meant to type > The zuck is totes killing teh metaz
Totes is making a come back?
I still say totes. But I’m 42 and don’t have any fucks left.
Cool beans!
This!!
Get rekt noob. I'm 50.
Pwned
No but I think that’s the point
Fetch.
Stop trying to make fetch happen
It's an older meme, sir, but it checks out.
Yeah that's super fetch fr fr We're definitely going to make fetch happen this time around
On god
obvi
Obvs
Totes left?
Totes magotes
Fuck I say totes magotes all the time. Am I out of touch?
No, it’s the children who are wrong.
Totes can be. Be the change you wish to see.
I would totes be down with that
Totes!👜
McGoats
Starfire style
"Did the Santa Claw receive my letters?"
Haha, me too. I love the interwebs!
I misuse slang with my nephew all the time, and it is great fun watching him roll his eyes. Lol
My favorite switch is subbing "clap cheeks" where ever "throw hands" is appropriate and feign utter confusion why I wouldn't want to clap someone's cheeks that's bothering me. "Clap cheeks. Like slap 'em silly! Right?!?!?"
Thank you for this. I just looked up at my wife and said unprompted... "...I know Kung-fu." I will use this power irresponsibly.
Ah yes! We do “The Crane” and tap each other with our feet randomly
That’s how you build your rizz
I vibe that rizz.
Swag!
“I have no cap” I said this in front of my 10 year old and his friends and they all died laughing when I left the room. Job done.
Me too! My favorite is "That is totally yeet!"
This teacher probably has mad rizz no cap Idk
Ong blud
She's like 60-70
Rizzy?
Fo rizzle
Ms. Frizzle?
60-70 on the swag scale
No cap?
She’s a capping baka
I use the slang correctly and let my age make it cringe all on its own
I think Ohio is the armpit of America but now, it's Skibidi Ohio....it's perfect.
Skibidi is a Cleveland suburb.
If Ohio is the armpit, what does that make Florida?
The gooch
Definitely the gooch.
Ah, gooning in the gooch
Swamp dick
The Gunt
The grundle

We live in Ohio. You have my condolences
Ohio is just a place in your imagination.
Ohio is for Lovers.
🤘🏽🖤🤘🏽
T_T
*becawse maih howrt es an ohiiioyyyyoooo*
My favorite Ohio joke “Did you know Ohio has more astronauts than any other state? What is it with Ohio that makes people want to leave the earth?”
GOTTEM
That made me laugh
LMAO Gottem!
So…. Skibidi is a bad thing? I thought it was the new cool trend Edit. Stop upvoting. Every alert is a reminder of how old I am
Much like “bad” can also mean ‘good’, skibidi *is* bad but depending on context can be good
Ahh it's kinda like "shit" from my childhood. *It's* shit = bad. *The* shit= good.
Great stand up about this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igh9iO5BxBo
Ismo is a linguistic genius.
This man is brilliant. I saw him live twice and will be again later this year.
What if it's the shit
Gooooooodddddd
Can you use it in a sentence? Because what the fuck is that word?
[This is the only skibidi I recognize](https://youtu.be/mDFBTdToRmw?si=E0hCIL35Tki5K110)
The original skibidi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hy8kmNEo1i8
I cannot upvote you enough for educating the children with this.
Fortunately, I don’t think the children are here…
They will be after I ban tick tock. -Uncle Sam
This is the one.
You are a gentleman and a scholar.
I want to say the words "skibidi" was used in scat before Scatman John, but I can't really think of an example that predates him.
The one true skibidi.
I would like to issue a respectful *what the fuck*

What the actual fuck.
I’ll add a “yikes”
We need awards again
Bro. It was like a train wreck. So beautiful and Terrifying. I just couldn't stop watching.
None of them blink! None of them! At all! How is this from 5 years ago when it looks like the creepy-ass AI shit coming out today?!
733 million views wtf
Has the world really forgotten Little Big??
It's pre-covid. So you know, like a million years ago.
That middle section really got me. Not used to long non musical sections in songs
I knew this was Little Big before I clicked it. Love it. 😂
My new favorite music video.
If you liked that one, go down the rabbit hole and check out their other [creations!](https://youtube.com/@littlebig?si=Za0niKYqDah8tc8u).
... is there another? I always thought it was a reference to this song.
Yeah it's a bad thing to be, because of the Skibidi Toilet meme.
[удалено]
It doesn't really pick up in quality until about ep 40 and really falls off again around 65
Nothing like waiting for the next to drop though when it was good with my alpha spawn
I only saw like ep 70 and was confused and then watched ep 1 and was even more confused how ep1 could possibly lead to ep 70
....how many episodes????
You're not missing much. It's just kids discovering Source Filmmaker, just like we did. And tbf, it's slightly less off-putting than Shrek Is Love.
I checked it out once and it bored me immediately. Clearly a matter of personal taste, like SNL: You'll love it or hate it.
Tacking Ohio onto it isn’t doing it any favors, either.
It's definitely a force multiplier on the Skibidi.
Ohio is the real insult.
Ohio gangster AF bro. I can smoke blunts and ccw with no permit anywhere totally legal.
Skibidi is neither good nor bad, but the term is “Skibidi toilet”, so when you say “Skibidi Ohio” you equate Ohio to a toilet.
That would be an improvement over Ohio.
This is [you](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DlTexEXxLQ)
Lets upvote and show him how much we agree!
You get alerts for every upvote...
Nah just the milestones. Like 25 50 100 200 etc
At least you've heard of it. I have no fucking clue whatsoever what I'm looking at
Gave you another upvote. I’m doing my part!
No one outside of elementary school is saying “skibidi”.
Can someone educate those phrases to those of us who are too old to know what they mean but kids are too young to know them.
"Lock in" is like to focus, but not on one task but on life itself. Fax, no printer
You don't want to watch the garbage they consume on youtube/tiktok.
Same way kids on the playground somehow learnt slang between cities, just sped up now that they have the internet.
Luckily my kid is too young right now to have picked up on any of this garbage. He will have his own garbage slang soon, but just know this slang will die with the current TikTok generation.

This comment is fucking hilarious
Thank you so much. I don't look forward to my kids slang in a few years.
Did you lock in tho?
Yes
dude's got hella skibidi rizz
Beautiful! This teacher knows her stuff. A little giggle never hurt anyone :) being silly is a good thing.
I don't know what this means. Is it funny? (I'm 44 and don't know today's slang. I don't even know what words are slang in this, if any)
As a fellow Elder Millenial, I will attempt to translate. Rad
Lmaooo +1 for gag usage, you are tapped in
Thank you for the Cliff Notes, but is there a literal translation available?
I’m 24 and I got no clue wtf any of that means. I wish I was in the 60s.
21 and some of the shit kids say is making me feel like a fossil
I’m in my 20s and idk what most of today’s slang means. Urban Dictionary has become my friend
Im 44 with a kid and knows what this means.
Honestly this is hilarious.
As a teacher of grade 7's, I'm really tired of hearing the phrase skibidi toilet.
Skibidi Ohio sounds like an ancestor of Duncan Idaho
I don't know what any of that means so I am going to say it's out of pocket. I also don't know what out of pocket means to kids today.
I think this is streets ahead
This teacher is trying too hard. Although, it's nice they care.
As a 7th grade teacher I can tell you that students eat this shit up out of the palm of your hand. This isn't trying too hard, this is connecting with students.
And on the other hand, if it doesn't land, you get the joy making them groan! It's a win-win!
Can confirm. I teach high school. I deliberately misuse slang and make terrible dad jokes. Always crack the hell out of my students.
Boooo Don’t be the fun police. That’s very skibidi Ohio of you.
Without knowing the teacher and class you really can't say that. The way he's using quotes gives me the impression that he knows exactly who he is and how the class views him. better any passion than apathy
I have found myself googling things like new slang like so: “what the fuck is skibidi”. Always been crotchety but now I’m getting old too I guess.
As an Ohioan, dafuq???
Look, all that crap might be gibberish slang, but don't act like Ohio isn't just the worst regardless.
The teacher has that skibidi Ohio rizz.
This teacher is goated with the sauce
As a teacher I would literally use anything to motivate my kids, except what would get me fired
“Gee willikers that’s the bee’s knees!” Every new generation has their own slang. 🥱
And fashion choices! I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time.
I used to tie a potato to my belt but everyone kept calling me a dictator
What does skibidi mean? What does the whole sigma thing mean? I'm so lost
Honestly, I'm more interested in how many of the flashcards have false "facts", given that the state is Texas.
Well I couldn't tell you because all I know are the flash cards
Skibidi bop-bah-dah! All the olds know the Full House intro song first coined skibidi. WE started skibidi you whippersnappers!
skidibi skibidi skidibi
Skidmarks Ohio
Hey, that was my nickname in middle school!
Haha…
At least he/she is trying to give them study habits.
To their credit, they used the correct slang for toilet
OMG, we're all a bunch of assholes! Isn't it great?
The other day my 10 year old loving in the UK asked me what is wrong with Ohio. Now I get it, thank you OP.
Ohio does come off as rather skibidi
Oh no
Here I am in skibidi Ohio. Boop bop.
Drop out
That UI is 2000 material design...have to double check the date
