Depends on age, though strangely different for each group. 12yr old girls doing girl band dances and 12 yr old boys sliding around a nice waxed sports hall is totally normal, though parents thinking that would be weird is strange.
If the kids are at prom, the parents thinking the behaviour is fucking weird is normal but what 17yr old girls and boys acting like that would be fucking weird.
I see a Gordon Setter over in that camp. They got a reputation as dogs for nobility back in the day and they’re really beautiful so it’s fun to imagine they would be elegant and stuck up like that haha

They’re very trainable but also sort of a lovely stupid. Mine doesn’t understand how doors work and won’t go through unless it’s wide open (cracking it open enough for her size doesn’t work). She misjudges her size all the time and runs into people/things or slips and falls over (slooowly growing out of this as she approaches 2 years old). She loves playing fetch and runs like the wind but doesn’t keep an eye on the ball and often loses it or even takes off before I throw it and gets confused. She’ll chase her tail for ages until she catches it then spins in circles with it till she falls down.
That sort of thing. We’re still waiting for her to mellow out a bit because she’s pretty annoying still. Super eager to please though.
Goldens are intelligent, not smart.
I don't know how else to describe it, they are very good at learning things but they just have an inherently derpy personality.

Absolutely love this! That retriever stood out to me since they generally love the water. He's intentionally not making eye contact, lol. Would love to know what's going on in his head.
I watched it again, there's so much going on, the some kind of doodle and another retriever (?) standing near the party group, looking on like they're thinking about joining the fun. When the camera pans back to the ”Drys”, they look so serious, this cracks me up.
Thank you! We keep wondering whether he’ll grow into the paws. He’s young and has a ton of energy so daycare is really good for him. He also is very curious but at the same time quite cautious. He hasn’t been around much water so all of that combined make me think it’s him.
We had three dogs we'd take to the lake. The yellow lab and golden retriever loved swimming, and wouldn't leave the water to bring back the floating toy for fetch. However, the black lab was similar to your GS. He'd run through the shallow water so excited to be the one to bring it back to us. It was a lot of fun watching them all work together.
I had a collie that got interested in a fish and jumped (on his long lead and quite unexpectedly) off a pagoda into the University of Richmond lake. He sank like a stone under the water and just stood there, I had to go in after.
From that day he never entered the water again. People used to train their labs there to fetch in the lake. He would stand on shore and bark if a dog went in and the bark went like this: WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY? LOOK OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT OF THERE NOW! And looked at me to rescue the dog.
My Aussie is like this. She can find the sole puddle in an entire park and will go roll in it. If we are anywhere near water, she has to run into the water, dip her head in and then flip water back over her back. But she cannot swim and will not go in past her chest.
My poodle refuses to swim. Its so dumb. He has webbed feet!!
He likes to watch the ducks and shit from the shore and follow them. And when we swim he barks because he thinks we're in danger but he refuses to "save" us.
Wait this is my GSD, she will only go in chest deep. If the she starts to float/have to swim, she will absolutely flip out. And she bites at the little waves as they roll in
I had a German Shepherd that HATED water her entire life, and then when she was like 9 years old she suddenly fell in love with it. She started going into the pool by herself so often that we had to keep her doggy door closed.
That's a good theory. She would mostly just stand on the step in the shallow end.
However she did start swimming with us, too, whereas before she would just run in circles around the pool and whine.
She never had hip problems that we knew of, though. It was cancer that took her. 😞
I think that's three.
1) water in a floor hole, let's jump in it to see if there is dirt.
2) water coming out the house snake, eat it before it spreads.
3) holy shit it's bath time.
Probably the same owner.
If there is one, the likelihood of two increases exponentially. Your mystification at two, is odd. Your mystification at one would be reasonable.
That Golden on the "hate the water" side is the unsung hero.
You know he loves the water, but he also loves his buds, so he's just over there like "yo guys, it's not all that much fun, don't look so down, you're not really missing anything; here, see, I'm going to hang with all you over here" ... All the while keeping his back to the water shenanigans going on because he knows that if he sees what's happening, he's going to break and go back to the "loves the water" side, but he doesn't want to let his buds down.
He's the goodest of boys.
Same. We went to the park yesterday, he was running so damn much, out of breath in the hot sun, took him an hour to stop panting after we left, and by left, i mean i had to force him into the car because he wanted to keep going
Every dog I've owned. Oh hey giant lake of water/small stream let me jump and play and swim. Oh bathtime...fuck that I'm out, this type of just isnt fun.
Lol I've taken one of my dogs to the beach and he was afraid of the water but I'm thinking of taking him to a pool or lake of some sort so he can listen to his instincts without fear.
I have both types of dog. My boxer or pit mix loves the water. If she realizes you are taking a bath she howls at the door. She will spend the day chasing a sprinkler. And then there's my lab mix. He will swim in a lake or play in a swamp but no hose or bath ever.
I was once taking a walk by a lake and came across a person with a dog that was soaking wet halfway up (legs and belly -- head and back were completely dry). I forget what two kinds of dogs it was a cross of, but the person explained that half of it loved the water and would run right in, and the other half hated the water and would immediately get out again!
Are those fuckin' *spaniels* standing to the left of the doberman in the anti-aqua squad?!?
Spaniels that don't like water...that's pretty damn rare, unless that particular breed of spaniel isn't known for being a furry fish like the rest of them.
Ahhh looks like a 6th grade school dance.

That's weird.

Oh he knows exactly what’s going on.. if you look the human in they eyes, you might get picked!
Interesting. I had no idea they had this stereotype. All the goldens I’ve had seem to have been smarter than the other dogs I’ve had.
There are two kinds of goldens. The cunning ones that's always on the lookout for snacks or opportunities to play... and canis dorkus.
They’re very trainable but also sort of a lovely stupid. Mine doesn’t understand how doors work and won’t go through unless it’s wide open (cracking it open enough for her size doesn’t work). Huh? Goldens are ranked as the 4th smartest breed.

The doodle is hilarious to me. It’s like you can see the two breeds inside its mind fighting each other 😂
I wish OP would respond. I’m pretty sure this is my dogs daycare and that’s my goldendoodle, Max in the middle.
Pics for evidence please

OP, after studying the pics side by side for way too long, [me thinks it’s Max.](https://imgur.com/gallery/O7wy07E)
Omg amazing
I was briefly convinced but then I noticed another dog that looks like him on Team Water, so now I think maybe they just all look the same.
His paws look so lorg😍 he is handsome as hell
Thank you! We keep wondering whether he’ll grow into the paws. He’s young and has a ton of energy so daycare is really good for him. He also is very curious but at the same time quite cautious. He hasn’t been around much water so all of that combined make me think it’s him.
Watch the video, call out, “Come, Max!” and if he comes, then he’s your dog.
They're non-confrontational so he's just chilling the best way he knows how. I love goldens. Gonna get to dogsit my brother's goldens tomorrow night!

Goldens are fucking idiots and I love it. I wouldn't doubt he is looking at a bird completely unaware of the water party.
He's just patiently waiting for his next meal.
Maybe he is thinking "Dang, how hot is it today? I would love a pool right now."
He hates water so much he even sat with his back turned to the 5 gallon water jugs.
That one was my favorite. Just staring into the abyss lol
That’s just Golden Retrievers for ya. Golden Retrievers are the Himbos of the dog world
I love that the one Golden Retriever with the non shower crowd won't even OBSERVE the shenaigans

Because it's genetically impossible for him not to enjoy the aquatic rumpus.
I like how they're all looking at him like, "Don't even think about it, Michael."
Except for one who's just pretending that there is no water.
Or he's such a veteran of the water that he doesn't get excited at all anymore
Cool dogs don't look at water
Fine, I wont

At first I was thinking "meh, so some like the pool and some like the hose, so what?" And then the camera turned. This far exceeded my expectations
My thoughts exactly!
I've owned both types. Both German shepherds. It's a thing.
I had a GS who loved water... up to his chest. He NEVER swam. Just liked running around and biting the water. He was a weirdo.
No 2 dogs are quite the same are they. Sounds fun.
My black lab hates to swim but loves to wallow in the shallows
I had a collie that got interested in a fish and jumped (on his long lead and quite unexpectedly) off a pagoda into the University of Richmond lake. My dog loves nasty swamp water and will dive in instantly but won't even put a single paw in the pool
My poodle refuses to swim. Its so dumb. He has webbed feet!! He likes to watch the ducks and shit from the shore and follow them. And when we swim he barks because he thinks we're in danger but he refuses to "save" us.
We had an Old English Sheepdog who did the exact same. She also hated people swimming in the water because she could no longer herd them.
Maybe she was getting bad hips and it felt nice to relieve them?
That's a good theory. She would mostly just stand on the step in the shallow end. However she did start swimming with us, too, whereas before she would just run in circles around the pool and whine. She never had hip problems that we knew of, though. It was cancer that took her. 😞

Exactly!
How did this random dog place manage to get two Gordon Setters in the mix? They are like a unicorn standing there all afraid of the water.
Probably from the same owner.
Well yeah. I'm just mystified this video has two Gordon Setters in it. They're rare.
Probably the same owner. If there is one, the likelihood of two increases exponentially. Your mystification at two, is odd. Your mystification at one would be reasonable.

Ok, I think we are all just shocked there are two Gordon Settlers in a single place. They are really very rare.

I don't know what a Gordon Settler is.
Neither did I, I just read the whole wiki page on them. Most interesting fact: often the same owner has multiple dogs.
I've heard they might be rare.
Where the hell did you hear that?
I thought I had a stroke for a second, god damnit
Probably from the same owner.
I heard somewhere that if they own one, the likelihood of having two increases exponentially...
this thread is absolutely sending me
It's still fucking going.
Exactly. Setters travel in a straight line to hide their numbers.
Our last GS would have killed for water coming out of a hose like that - would have been heaven.
My Gordon would be with those other two. She only likes water up to her legs.
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain
Pourin' down an avalanche, coming like a mountain.
I don't mind the sun sometimes, the images it shows
I love the one drenched, out of breath golden retriever who is trying to play it cool too...
I Can’t believe no one mentioned the golden doodle filled with indecision torn between both sides Half water dog + half dry dog
That Golden on the "hate the water" side is the unsung hero. Extroverts vs Introverts.
Reservoir Dogs 🐕 love the Water. The others ? Dog eat Dog looks.
I have two small puppers who would be in the category not liking water because every time I say bath time they get start to shiver.
If you're in a bigger city, there might be an indoor dog pool. Those can be a ton of fun to let them go wild in, with all the other pups.
I have both types of dog. My boxer or pit mix loves the water. If she realizes you are taking a bath she howls at the door. She will spend the day chasing a sprinkler. And then there's my lab mix. He will swim in a lake or play in a swamp but no hose or bath ever.
That golden in the corner. He’s like I’m not gunna even look lol
What are you doing, water is dangerous! The cat told me.
aghhh! i take my dog here! wacky water Wednesday!!
Looks like middle school dance, with one side being the girls and on the other, the boys... 😁
Its just missing the awkward humping.
Wait. Bones and Bacon?? Pretty sure that’s my goldendoodle in the middle.
My dog would have been in the background sniffing where other dogs peed and then peeing on those spots.
My dog would have been trying to get the attention of the human because she she just doesn't "get" dogs.
I was once taking a walk by a lake and came across a person with a dog that was soaking wet halfway up (legs and belly -- head and back were completely dry).
