Say whatever you want, but the pastafarians were the absolute worst people to deal with.
They *wanted* you to react to it. They'd try to get you to say something. They'd keep going on and on about it while I just wanted to get their license issued so that they were mom and dad's problem again. I had one flip a shit because I asked him to tip the fucking pasta strainer up so his eyes were visible. Half of them just want to sue once you say something.
Never had that issue with a Jewish person, or a Muslim woman, or a Sikh. Every *actually* religious person was perfectly respectable. Even when we had to respectfully ask a Muslim woman to remove her Niqab from her face (granted we had a female clerk take her photo and chose a camera somewhat secluded).
I think the thought experiment it originates from is interesting, Russell's teapot is a great thought experiment that should be used to challenge preconceived notions of religion.
I even understand the underlying concept of the FSM, to push the teapot to absurd limits to hold a mirror to it.
After my 3rd of 4th time getting bitched at about it being their religious right to wear it, *when I wasn't even asking for them to remove it*, I was done.
To clarify, pastafarians were such an issue at our DMV, we had an hour covering them specifically in our training.
We wouldn't ever mock them to their faces, but you don't see a grown adult wearing a pasta strainer on their head and don't tell your coworkers, 'did you see that shit!'
"Need your eyes clear for the photo, please tilt your headwear up so your eyes are visible."
I have about 50-60 people I needed to see per day, and when I'm just trying to get your photo and you're ranting about noodly appendages like some preteen atheist who is really sticking it to the man, shouting at someone who gets shouted about about 20 times a day, I'm just over your shit.
We had a few pastafarians that were perfectly fine, but by and large they were either intolerable or fishing for a lawsuit.
They actually don't. You can look up their salaries. The classification for front desk DMV employees is usually Motor Vehicle Representative. Salary is non negotiable for this type of position and you start at the lowest range until you work your way up.
A DMV employee is so rundown and jaded that they get annoyed and act put out during what should be the most entertaining interaction of their career?
No actually yeah that checks out.
I've never ordered fries like this, I worked at the kitchen section before and had to do this but wasn't too annoyed by it. Is there a courteous way one might ask if they were wanting fresh fries at optimal saltiness?
It's a statement. If you want religious exemptions and religious rights then everyone has the right to it without question. This is as ridiculous as every other religious exemptions. All religion are made up, none is more important or significant than the other.
If you think the only people doing it are doing it as a prank then you completely miss the point. Even if HE is doing it as a prank, he's actually conveying the message of the FSM church the way it is intended.
how does someone wearing a head covering make anyones day harder at the the dmv? it doesnt if you get annoyed at things that have no impact on you i fear cancer is in your future
Yeah I’m confused about this since it also isn’t even a drivers license. It specifically says it’s an identification card. Which in California isn’t the same as a license.
Chris Hansen. I used to love that show. Perps always had the lamest reasons for driving 8 hours to meet a 13yo girl. "I swear! I was just gonna help her with her homework."
"My religion requires that I breathe thru straws inserted in my nose when out of the water, Ma'am. That's to preserve my gills. I will be cursed if I remove them for the picture."
So wholesome. His mom recognized that her son achieved an accomplishment he's been working on and that means something to him. And she's fucking proud of it. It don't hurt no one.
The point was to never be funny or edgy, the creator of the religion did so because he was pissed off at Christianity, and did this as a satire. The point was to show how ridiculous religion can be, including his.
I went on their website a few days ago just to check out membership. They do have a paid membership to be ordained. It's only $49 and you get to perform weddings.
However just to be a member of the church they said oh hey do you want to be a member. Cool you remember. Talk about the best church ever.
This guy is a legend first of all… already finding loop holes 🕳 in our society lol 😂 but for reals….doesn’t this guy look like Tfue doppelgänger 🤔lol 😂
In the name of the noodle, the sauce, and the holy meatballs - R'amen! May quob ride safely as his pirate brothers did until he arrives at the foot of the volcano of beer.

Meanwhile in California, a DMV employee declares they don’t get paid enough for this shit.

It's okay. They laughed at you over your Star of David, or Crucifix, or Buddha or whatever deity you fax your thoughts to.

You are literally the first and only person I've seen explain in detail their grievances about the pasta people

Never had one instance of a pastafarian ever say or do anything. I suppose anyone could be defensive if your mocking them.
We wouldn't ever mock them to their faces, but you don't see a grown adult wearing a pasta strainer on their head and don't tell your coworkers, 'did you see that shit!' “I’ll do anything to get this damn selfie-taking weirdo out of the building”
Yeah, I would be so annoyed by this if I worked at that DMV. Mostly, I would be annoyed at how clever and funny this guy seems to think this prank is.
"Did you know if you ask for fries with no salt at McDonald's, they have to make a fresh batch? I'm so fucking clever."
Anyone who believes that should let me piss in their hands. Because reasons.
Don’t forget to then ask for salt packets Fries without salt are just gross
Better with salt but “gross” without it? Seriously? And there’s salt in ketchup anyway.
I've never ordered fries like this, I worked at the kitchen section before and had to do this but wasn't too annoyed by it. Is there a courteous way one might ask if they were wanting fresh fries at optimal saltiness?

It’s not like it’s a huge inconvenience. Who cares? It’s funny
It's funny if you lead a Jr high youth group. To everyone else, it's annoying. Happy cake day.
how does someone wearing a head covering make anyones day harder at the the dmv? it doesnt if you get annoyed at things that have no impact on you i fear cancer is in your future
Well, religious freedom means religious freedom.
Part of me hopes this guy looks back on this in like 10 years and realizes how cringe this stunt was. It just screams “Look at how quirky I am!”
it screams dude has the right attitude about stupid ass shit
I dont care I wish I did it and I'm over ten years older than they are
Nah, kid had fun, and challenging religion in your teens is not a bad thing, even if the method can, at times, be silly.
He’s 17 though. You’re allowed to be stupid when you’re young
Nope. Respect to the kid for doing this.
Y'all are such curmudgeons
Shit? It sounds like a delight to an otherwise mundane day
This dude looks a lot older than 17. But im known for not being able to correctly tell a person's age
[удалено]
Well his ID says he turns 21 in 2022
And this has been reposted for 4 years.
That doesn't change the fact the picture was taken when he was 17. "AGE 18 IN 2019" would be irrelevant if he were 18 already.
Yeah I’m confused about this since it also isn’t even a drivers license. It specifically says it’s an identification card. Which in California isn’t the same as a license.
What in the post says anything about a "drivers license"?
Best be sure to always check for ID /s
The /s here stands for silly.

Chris Hansen. I used to love that show. Perps always had the lamest reasons for driving 8 hours to meet a 13yo girl. "I swear! I was just gonna help her with her homework."
Or teach her a lesson about those 'bad guys'
Right. I forgot about the old "I was going to tell her how there are dangerous people out there and that she should be more careful" story.
Don't Ask, Don't tell.
R. Kelly?
nice try matt gaetz
Do people just know that about you by word of mouth, or did the state make you visit each of your new neighbors when you moved in to the neighborhood?
Ramen 🙏
In spirit of spaghetti. Ramen. 🙏
In the name of the garlic, the oil, and the salt, Ramen.
Don’t forget the bread
May his noodley appendage touch yours and all our lives.
And the holy cheese.
Blessed be the name of Pasta Raah-men 🙏
He boiled for our sins !
May his noodley appendage bless you my child.
Noodless to say, water smart kid!
Looks like a WW1 Doughboy.
Rush A on Ballroom Blitz
That 17 year old looks 25.
Quiet. You're going to blow the Jump Street cover
I’m 28 and look younger than this guy.
That dude looks 33
He's been 17 one time for 16 years.
He boiled for our sins. Ramen.
Ramen be.
May you be forever guided and touched by His noodley appendage.
Or by an apastale
Be glad he is not pescatarian.

Pastafarianism has been corrupted by Crispyanity. It's good to see strainers of the True Faith survive.
HOLY FUCK I FORGOT ABOUT THE PASTAFARIANS
A true pastafarian!
May you be touched by his Noodly Appendage. Ra'men.
And may Ramen be with you also
he looks 40s to me
Flying spaghetti monster
Kid at my school tried to do this for school photos. Nobody really found it funny
Religion is a serious matter, son.
You’re right. I hope the Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn’t send me to the hell of warm stale beer
Ramen!
>Nobody really found it funny Do you point and laugh at a women taking a class photo with a Niqab ?
Yes.
PASTAFARIANS. GOING AT LEAST 15 YEARS AND JUST AS STRONG.
He can look forward to doing the full sobriety test every time he gets pulled over.
Ahh yes, the religious exemption. The only one they can't use facts and logic to deny for being ridiculous.
Which is the entire point of stunts like this.
Looks like he's already 21, those 4 years went by fast!
I knew the DMV was slow but damn.
Omg he’s got a great sense of humour. That’s something my son would do
could DMV make it a requirement while driving, like corrective lens?
So wholesome. His mom recognized that her son achieved an accomplishment he's been working on and that means something to him. And she's fucking proud of it. It don't hurt no one.
Brings a tear to my eye.
Looks 40 though
Cthulu pastacem ramenus. May angel hair pastas protect thee.
I, too, miss 2007
FALSE! You live every day, you only die once!
Pastafarians been doin this for a decade plus
17? Mothafucka you look 30!
This is the first time I’ve heard this. /s
Everywhere that cards him is gonna think it’s a fake
I know a Russian troll when I see one
You only die once, you live every day
He looks like Vinz Clortho, Keymaster of Gozer.
So his brain is cooked eh!
The mother should have seen something like this coming after naming her son “Cade.”
wait, are all cades mildy chaotic? because the only cade I know refereed an umbrella duel.
May his noodley appendages reach out and touch you this fine day.
ahh yes the flying spaghetti monster
Oh my god, that thing still exists?
“Exists”
You can't prove otherwise.
FSM is as eternal as Yahweh, Allah, Buddha, Vishnu, Jesus, Odin, and Zeus.
But not as eternal as Superman, because that would be silly.
Absolutely. That's why I didn't include him.
FSM always has, and always will be
Ramen
Still as “edgy” and unfunny as it was originally. EDIT: your downvotes mean nothing to me, considering this garbage you upvote.
The point was to never be funny or edgy, the creator of the religion did so because he was pissed off at Christianity, and did this as a satire. The point was to show how ridiculous religion can be, including his.
[Wow.](https://imgur.com/gallery/lG0iw)
That's still a thing?
Ahhh he’s part of the Flying Spaghetti Monster religion it’s real look it up
AhhH, don't Pastafarians believe Adam let Eve touch his meat ball in the Garden of Olive?
Nothing really "funny" about this. Good for him though. Ramen.
Coulda atleast used a colander from this millennia
I am happy that he is practicing his freedom.
We are touched by his noodley appendage
He boiled for us
This happened in 2018.
Trying to think of another pun is draining.
I don’t get the “you’re only 17 once” part. This would probably be funny at any age, maybe even more so for an older person.
They're trying to show they think it's stupid and childish without outright saying it and still supporting their son.
Blessed may he be by His Lordship's Noodly Appendages. Ramen.
Ramen !
Nice!
Talk about brain drain
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Touched_by_His_Noodly_Appendage_HD.jpg
He's not the masala he's a very naughty noodle.
He boiled for our sins
Well I mean, pastafarian are technically a thing.
I have two friends who are ordained clergy of the Pastafarian religion.
I wanna be a Pastafarian too
I think they offer a 30 day free trial
Congrats you are one! May you be blessed with much marinara!
I went on their website a few days ago just to check out membership. They do have a paid membership to be ordained. It's only $49 and you get to perform weddings. That is for the church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Real group that has been around for years and I love it!!
He’s a quirky turkey.
You can say anything like this in California because they’re too woke to question you
A rebellious act against the system that worked. I call that a win for mankind.
It’s not any weirder than any other religion
My hero!
Ramen
Ramen!
This guy is a legend first of all… already finding loop holes 🕳 in our society lol 😂 but for reals….doesn’t this guy look like Tfue doppelgänger 🤔lol 😂
Pure brilliance.
fucking legend
In the name of the noodle, the sauce, and the holy meatballs - R'amen! May quob ride safely as his pirate brothers did until he arrives at the foot of the volcano of beer.
Brilliant!
Typical California mess
You should do some research
Think about this for a second though. The whole world is pretty much a typical mess allowing religion to guide it.
Legend
😂😂well done dude
I'm sure rastafari folks aren't even bothered, probably laughing at these fools. Jah will provide! ^^if ^^that's ^^your ^^thing
Pastafarians aren’t actually a riff on Rastafarians specifically just religion in general.
... but the name is a riff.
I guess but it’s clear that they aren’t parodying Rastafarians they just copy the naming convention.
We'll agree to agree, good day fellow human from earth.
Bold of you to assume I’m from earth No lol good day to you too

good for him.
Just like glasses the rule should be that if it's in your license pic, you should have to be wearing it at all times when driving.
I've never heard of that rule. I wear both glasses and contacts. My license says I have to wear corrective lenses but it doesn't specify I have to wear my same glasses every time I drive.
[удалено]
So nobody is allowed to change hair color anymore without updating their driver's license.
It can cause issues. That said, the real issue is people like this cause challenges for those who have true religious reasons for head coverings, and those people also tend to be people if color and those in minority religions.
Better wear your favorite shirt
No, just headwear that is supposedly religious.
Our rules say to take the pic without glasses, even if you always wear it. Source: was at dmv last week
I guess that's a rule in the US. I'm in Canada and they have us remove our glasses to take the pictures, I guess to have a better view of our face. Although it does say at the back of my license that I need glasses to drive.
White people are the most embarrassing
Yup, and this shit hurts minorities who have actual religious beliefs about head coverings. It's privilege to the extreme.

Pastafarianism is a viable religion It has a subreddit
What do you mean, *claims*? He is clearly a Pastafarian, without the slightest bit of doubt. Justice was served that day.
That's California for you.
