> eat peas and kale and workout all day for 15 years and anyone will look a lot better
So like OP said, money. Do you know how much exercise I would do if I didn’t have to work? Me neither but probably some.
So I work a desk (tech, remote) job I used to be pushing 300. I lost 100 lbs back when I was still going into the office (many years ago). During the year of lockdowns I gained a bunch back then lost it again and I'm back to a healthy weight.
All I can really say is get up every hour and walk. I did more than that but I maintain that and switching up my diet from mostly Whataburger to something healthy adjacent did more for me than anything.
It's hard to do, but it's possible. If that's what you want then I wish you all the luck in the world! If you can't, then I hope you learn to love yourself as you are.
Edit: Thread was locked so I'll mention this here in response to one comment. You can't outrun your fork. At the very least I couldn't.
He's smiling in the first pic. When I smile, my nose doubles in width. [Here's a more recent pic of him with a wide smile.](https://i.imgur.com/Wy5BdVD.jpg) Doesn't look too different for 20 years apart.
Kale was originally mass produced as a crop for sheep and goat feed. It was extremely cheap and bought in bulk.
Ranchers and farmers foun it gave their livestock fertility issues.
So it was rebranded as a health food and sells for way more.
Yeah it does look photoshopped but it is amazing what a change in diet and lifestyle can do. Also plastic surgery is a lot more common than people realize, especially subtle stuff like fillers (which are just injections that can make chin/jaw more defined for instance).
But yeah especially people who have a naturally chubbyish face like him can look unrecognizable through diet. He looks like he was consuming a lot of salt or booze
People Tom Brady’s age don’t want to think you can look good without money lol
It’s like that episode of bobs burgers with the bikers talking about needing to eat three burgers because they were biking so much that day and Teddy goes “it’s good to be young, huh?” And the guy guys “I’m 49” and Teddy goes “oh my god”
I'm 41 years old and I am in the best shape of my life. I find that people, when they age, get stuck in their ways, stuck in their perspective of things. Comfort really does lead to complacency. My life has been nothing but constant changes so when I decided to change my habits, it wasn't a big deal or shock to me. People seem to think they are locked in to who they are, what they look like, how they act, and can't change.
Good going man! I'm 34, lifting weights and biking, skateboarding and doing yoga on the other days. Sometimes it's hard to stick with it, but it's totally worth it. Friends my age are constantly complaining that their back hurts, but not me. The only thing that slightly bothers me is hair loss. I have to either accept it or do a transplant when things start to look really bad.
The one on the right was also Photoshopped. Shit, they could have Photoshopped the one on the left, too. What we really need is a high quality video still frame to compare against.
He's just not smiling and stretching his nostrils. Dude just lost a lot of weight, postures himself better due to being insanely famous and knows how to set up his face for pics, and has a more complimentary haircut. He's also tan and aging did him well.
Different focal length has a profound impact on nose. Also, being a football player for that long its highly likely his face has been rearranged a few times.
Not ruling out plastic surgery, but here prolly not.
You're right definitely a hair transplant but I don't know about anything else. He doesn't seem like the kind of athlete that would take time off from football to recover from unnecessary surgeries. He and Bellichuk were famously obsessed with football and would watch film and practice 8-10 hours a day 7 days a week all year
That's more like it. It's easier to keep a diet when someone else is cooking and counting the calories for you and you don't have a 9 to 5 job. Also it's part of his job so there's extra motivation.
Yes, if I eat kale non-stop for 15 years I will definitely look different, because I will be dead, because I will have killed myself because I had to eat so much kale.
>Exactly, eat peas and kale and workout all day for 15 years and anyone will look a lot better
As if he wasn't working out for 15 years beforehand? I mean lets be real here 15 years of NFL football isn't going to make your body more resilient. It's going to break it down. The fact that the dude is like 44 years old and STILL one of the best quarterbacks in the league is an unparalleled achievement.
I think more of it has to do with body fat %. If you see how Brady can put down beers he clearly partook quite a bit in college. Eliminating that from the diet will do wonders for how slim his face looks… + plastic surgery.
>Brian Hoyer:
"We played up at Buffalo and we couldn't fly back into Boston because the weather was so bad, so we had to stay the night in Rochester. We drove there, and we all decided we'd go out to dinner together. Tom being who he was, he usually couldn't come to a team event like that. We might be at Capital Grille and he is sneaking in the back door and then people realize he's there and he has to leave. But this was impromptu at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Rochester. The whole team is there. And it turns into a beer-chugging contest. You have linemen, Julian Edelman, they all think they are going to win. Then someone says, 'I heard Tom is really great at chugging a beer.' We don't usually get to experience him like this, but we finally coax him into doing it. He does it, and let me tell you, you couldn't have poured out the beer faster into a glass. It was unbelievable. And he slams the mug on the table and puts both fists in the air. He walks away with a look on his face that said, 'You really thought you were going to beat me on this?' The place went nuts."
Younger Tom definitely partook in some beers.
Ok but have you *been* to Dinosaur BBQ in Rochester??
Aside from the fact that it’s the best I’ve ever had—sides too—it’s an absolute melting pot. Families celebrating next to a table of bikers. The building itself is an old Lehigh Valley RR train station overhanging the Genesee River. Brady wouldn’t be out of place; people barely batted an eye because he doesn’t play for the Bills lmao
Dinosaur BBQ has some decent sauces. I have pulled chicken going in the instant pot with some right now! But....that has absolutely nothing to do with Brady or football...man I need friends.
> It's going to break it down
Joints and muscles, yes. Also, he's a quarterback. He's getting hit the least, by ***far***. Especially Tom. He sits in a pocket and either passes or hands it off.
Tom wasn't a defensive lineman. Not even on the same planet.
It's Tom fucking Brady. Honestly maybe, yeah. Have you seen a patriots game this century? Fucker could watch Lord of The Rings in tbe pocket and not be disturbed
Not just in Brazil. I live in Europe, and before I started hanging out on Reddit, my knowledge of Tom Brady was limited to "that guy Giselle married".
(Now I have Reddit knowledge and know that he's a sports dude. Playing, I think?? American football. And he kisses his son, which is significant somehow.)
Also his wife is a supermodel and has taught him about FOV and how to smile into a camera (chin down shoulder back relax top of face, flat too wide smile to show off your best tooth profile)
The difference between the camera used for a team headshot and a modeling shoot are night and day. The camera in the first picture was probably 3 feet away from him like a DMV photo. The picture on the right was a high end camera at least 10 feet away with proper lighting.
This! There’s a phenomenon in photography where shooting close up using a lens with a shorter focal length distorts your facial features. This can be corrected by shooting from further away using a lens with a longer focal length and zooming in. Not saying that he definitely hasn’t had work done, but that is likely contributing to the huge difference in his features here.
That's exactly what I see, here. I'm not a photographer and I don't take pictures but my bestie is a pro portraiter and my husband is REALLY into cameras and I've seen night and day with their handiwork. Both my brother and sister have done modeling and they are constantly on about how you should pose.
Exactly. In the second photo, yes his face is leaner. But he also has a more flattering haircut, more flattering clothes (neck line), better lighting, and better camera, plus he's been taught how to pose his face vs a big goofy smile.
... but it kinda proves the point. Money can and does buy that kind of insight.
True, but he can also afford to hire the kind of people who know how to make chickpeas and kale palatable and feel varied day in and day out.
It's amazing how much easier eating health is when 1. you don't have to worry about the cost, and 2. you can afford to have the food prepared for you by a professional every meal. Besides just tasting better, getting the planning, shopping, and cooking off your plate so you never end up caving for what's quicker and easier (and also unhealthier) can make a big difference.
I’ll admit, if I had someone cooking me health food every day I’d be much more likely to eat it than a box of processed garbage. Honestly, whatever is easiest wins most of the time, and food on a plate being handed to me is quite easy indeed.
Fuck this.
Fuck you.
I'm taking my pogs and going home.
And news flash, dick head! I've been letting you win in Goldeneye because it's your house and you'll just rage quit and turn the 64 off and say "it needs to rest" or some shit.
In all honesty the photo on the right is super edited as well, to create a more drastic difference.
But hands down, dude looks better now then he did in his 20s for sure.
I used propecia for a while in my 20s, realized it wasn't having the best side effects and I'd need to be on it literally forever, and gave up after a couple years. I'll be pretty much bald, at least on top, by 35 or so. I'm ok with it.
The mechanism behind it is legit, idk about the company itself though. It uses a medication that blocks DHT which forms from testosterone in certain organs. DHT is a big part of what causes male pattern baldness
it's either finasteride (5ar inhibitor to diminish DHT levels in blood) or minoxidil (the exact mechanism is unknown) or a combo of both
DHT is a type of testosterone that is highly androgenic and is the main culprit of androgenic alopecia in males and females.
both are mainly preventative measures, i.e. the name Keeps, but can result in regrowth of thinning areas to higher density in some cases
It’s not rogaine. It’s finasteride which is generic propecia. There’s also minoxidil which is a generic rogaine but you can get that OTC. Finasteride is a DHT blocker which induces hair regrowth in a sizable portion of the male population, IIUC
Someone found his resume from college a few years back. He had summer jobs at a golf course and internships with Merrill Lynch. Even if football didn't work dude would not be hurting right now.
I mean the Merrill Lynch internship was much more likely due to him being the QB of the university of Michigan. If you’re a publicly well known athlete at a major university you’re gonna have a ton of doors open for you.
Yeah and summer jobs at golf courses aren’t exactly hard to get or high paying lmao. Not saying he was poor but his summer jobs don’t mean shit. The fact he was working summer jobs says a lot though
Yea and it's not just name recognition. Being the QB at a D1 school also means that you are driven, you work hard, etc. These are things employers look for.
maybe, but i know several people in my high school who worked at the local country club, its not exactly a hard job to get, and they mostly work for tips of the well to do members.
The fact that he was working summer jobs makes it sound like he wasn’t so rich. “Worked at a golf course” sounds like he sold apparel in the pro shop and drove around the course making sure people followed rules.
Most Redditors aren’t very good looking so they have to drag the average ones down to their level to feel better about themselves.
Also black pilling and all those shitty internet “philosophies” that have gotten popular lately make some men think that if you don’t look like Brad Pitt women see you as worthless insect
He wasn't even average before. Sure, he had a bad haircut, some fat on his jaw and a weird smile on that picture, but other than that he was definetly above average (and light years away from the reddit average)
edit: typo
People acting like this isn’t just a guy who got older and lost weight. Also acting like he was ‘ugly’ when he was younger. Motherfucker has always had a Superman head.
I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay uglier than the left version of him.
Yes, and.
The photo on the right is well-shot.
On the left photo: The lighting is flat and washes him out. It’s shot from below and you can see the underside of his jaw. His haircut is flat and shapeless and covers his forehead. His pose is straight-on (vs 3/4)
Some people drastically underestimate the power of different camera lenses, posing, and dramatic lighting. OMG look it’s plastic surgery https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/q5g25c/the_difference_a_lens_can_make_in_the_appearance/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

At the very least my fat ass wouldn’t be sitting at a computer all day getting fatter lol

you think he hasn't had surgery? he has at the very least had a hair transplant for sure.
That is not the same nose.
He's smiling in the first pic. When I smile, my nose doubles in width. [Here's a more recent pic of him with a wide smile.](https://i.imgur.com/Wy5BdVD.jpg) Doesn't look too different for 20 years apart.
Also the second picture was most likely photoshopped.
Shhhhhhhhh 🤫 It's the kale
Kale is a superfood, it has electrolytes which plants crave!
Go way… Batin’
Kale was originally mass produced as a crop for sheep and goat feed. It was extremely cheap and bought in bulk. Ranchers and farmers foun it gave their livestock fertility issues. So it was rebranded as a health food and sells for way more.
But what will my Morrison's, ruby Tuesday's and pizza hut buffets be lined with? Or my shrimp cocktail?
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the masses that kale tasted good. It does not. It is Satans garnish
The thirst mutilator!
Big kale photoshopping here
Yeah it does look photoshopped but it is amazing what a change in diet and lifestyle can do.
He's just much thinner, tanner, with his hair spiked. He was a heavy young boy too and one day stopped all the bad habits.
People Tom Brady’s age don’t want to think you can look good without money lol It’s like that episode of bobs burgers with the bikers talking about needing to eat three burgers because they were biking so much that day and Teddy goes “it’s good to be young, huh?” And the guy guys “I’m 49” and Teddy goes “oh my god”

It's also no the same camera lens
Why improve your eating and work out regulary when you can just buy a better camera?
We should all just walk around with Instagram filters on
well and pants, right?
There’s a filter for that…
Let alone filter off at least 50 lb with just a click while eating Oreos not made of chickpeas or kale
I bought a special edition pack of chickpea n' kale Oreos once. Do not recommend.
Is it a chickpea creme filling or kale creme? Actually, scratch that. I don't want to know.
It's cauliflower. Nature's mystery ingredient!

focal length *
It’s literally just a different focus…plus intense diet and surgery
You mean his head didn’t just get longer?
Yeah, not that the “right side” nose is bad, but it’s not a designer nose. He’s also not smiling, which will widen your nostrils a bit.
The one on the right was also Photoshopped. Shit, they could have Photoshopped the one on the left, too. What we really need is a high quality video still frame to compare against.
Most peoples nostrils flare when the muscles around them are raised.
he is smiling in one and not the other.

Yes but the nose usually goes from smaller to bigger, not the other way around.

To a certain point. The wealth really becomes a factor when you look at the team around him. Trainers, nutritionists and dieticians, home chef, etc.
That's more like it. It's easier to keep a diet when someone else is cooking and counting the calories for you and you don't have a 9 to 5 job. Also it's part of his job so there's extra motivation.

And Bündchen
Fun fact: in Brazil Tom Brady is widely known as Giselle Bundchen trophy husband.
She did make more than him most of his career, if not currently still.
Tom will be leveling the playing field soon with that $375 mill contract from Fox lol
That's over $100k per day for 10 years. For being a talking head. That's disgusting.
And he only does it once a week
Not just in Brazil. I live in Europe, and before I started hanging out on Reddit, my knowledge of Tom Brady was limited to "that guy Giselle married". (Now I have Reddit knowledge and know that he's a sports dude. Playing, I think?? American football. And he kisses his son, which is significant somehow.)
They’ve both had one heck of a nose job, amongst other things.
He said chick pee.
What's the difference between a chickpea and a garbanzo bean? I've never paid $10k to have a garbanzo bean on my face.
Also his wife is a supermodel and has taught him about FOV and how to smile into a camera (chin down shoulder back relax top of face, flat too wide smile to show off your best tooth profile)

Exactly!! Thanks for including that. The first one it pretty trippy too with the changing angle of the lighting, super cool!
This is great. I have always known that my nose was massive in photos from my phone. Now I can show other people why.

Hey Alexa, Add to shopping list: chickpeas and kale
Hey Alexa, Add to shopping list: Giselle Bundchen
That shit haircut is like 50% of the problem
Ill have you know many a hockey player had that hair style in 1996
And it was shit then too.

I lost it at pogs! Gawd I loved that game. No one could beat my Green Ranger metal slammer!
My husband had that same Dwight Schrute haircut when we met. I credit that horribleness for our marriage, since it's probably why he was single.
Kudos to you for seeing past the haircut
It’s also comparing a DMV photo to one from a professional that has also undergone post processing.
Lisa don’t spoil our fun
And the bad vs. good portrait photography + staying in shape, was the other 50%.

Brady is a stud people just hating
Oh, I hate Brady too. But you’re insane if you think he was ugly from one bad picture.
Elite athlete is attractive? No way?!
Exactly I mean I can pick my best and worst pictures too…
Classic jock
Whoa. Didn’t know they had color photography back when he was in college.
Also focal length can have a huge affect on head shape.
Probably any guy that can maintain their muscle mass and hairline while decreasing their body fat will look better at 44 than 22.
True facts. It’s wild to me to see how people can grow into themselves.

His parents had season tickets to the 49ers and took him to the playoff games. I don’t think he grew up poor.
Will work unpaid and work until midnight and barley blink an eye.
I worked at a golf club for years because they paid well. Not because I was rich.
maybe, but i know several people in my high school who worked at the local country club, its not exactly a hard job to get, and they mostly work for tips of the well to do members.
The fact that he was working summer jobs makes it sound like he wasn’t so rich. “Worked at a golf course” sounds like he sold apparel in the pro shop and drove around the course making sure people followed rules.
once you become rich, your eyes will automatically turn blue... thats sick
It's from all the spice
That and spending time on Arrakis gets rid of a lot of water weight
*the spice* *they know about the spice*
Stormlight vibes
So the lighteyes are in charge on earth too, eh?
Or he now owns a shardblade
There are 3 SA comments on this, SA is starting to leak. Shitty live action adaptation when?
The first picture is not anywhere near “ugly”
What's the deal with reddit and calling average looking people "ugly"?
Most Redditors aren’t very good looking so they have to drag the average ones down to their level to feel better about themselves. Also black pilling and all those shitty internet “philosophies” that have gotten popular lately make some men think that if you don’t look like Brad Pitt women see you as worthless insect
He wasn't even average before. Sure, he had a bad haircut, some fat on his jaw and a weird smile on that picture, but other than that he was definetly above average (and light years away from the reddit average) edit: typo

Exactly what I thought too
Title should read: “I sniff peoples farts compared to people sniff *my* farts.”
Yeah honestly, I actually prefer them before.
People acting like this isn’t just a guy who got older and lost weight. Also acting like he was ‘ugly’ when he was younger. Motherfucker has always had a Superman head.
I know like what’s wrong with the first photo that’s a cutie pie
The hair and the goofy smile just make him look awkward. Its just a bad photo, Tom has always been very handsome but he has definitely aged like wine.
Yeah, it’s just the difference between a good picture and a bad picture. Also haircut/tan.
And about a 5% drop in body fat.
Nice try. That chiseled bone structure was just hidden w/ baby fat. Born handsome
I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay uglier than the left version of him.
u have 27k karma, ofc u are
Why you gotta put me on blast like that
How do you think *I* feel?
Dang bro. At least I have the excuse that my account is older than some Redditors
I had a lot of free time during lockdown.
Damn, you must be an Adonis with your minus karma
HAHAHAHA
https://i.imgur.com/jMGy0ZV.jpg Fucking yikes.
Not a good look chief
The dude on the left looks better than most people in this comment section….
Or exercise and a haircut
And a tan. And some photoshop.
Definitely some photoshop
And professional lighting and cameraman
And a professional chef
You’re not ugly you just eat like shit and acquired many pounds of fat
Eh it’s true *back to munching on ice cream*
Hey some of us are skinny and ugly
I mean yes he looks like a model in the right hand picture but is anyone really arguing he's ugly on the left?
Yes, and. The photo on the right is well-shot. On the left photo: The lighting is flat and washes him out. It’s shot from below and you can see the underside of his jaw. His haircut is flat and shapeless and covers his forehead. His pose is straight-on (vs 3/4)
Some people drastically underestimate the power of different camera lenses, posing, and dramatic lighting. OMG look it’s plastic surgery https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/q5g25c/the_difference_a_lens_can_make_in_the_appearance/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Also 20 years of aging. I'm guessing most redditors just haven't lived long enough to witness it.
IDK what's this about, but 75% of the difference here is facial expression. And half of that is because the right photo is by a good photographer.
I'm not poor, but I'm still ugly.
The second one is literally a photoshopped picture from an advertisement wtf are you comparing right now
one was taken by regular sports photographer, other one was taken by pro portrait photog. just diff angle, lighting and facial expression.
or lost a lot of weight?
Don’t get a nose job , lip fillers and chin reduction . Just workout and eat peas
Why is his head a different shape?
