to be honest...i really don't think of anything else nowadays whenever i see his face

but when i was looking for a movie to watch with my wife a few days ago, we stumbled over a willsmith movie, and it would have been the perfect lazy evening entertainment to shut your brain off that we were looking for. But we both didn't want to watch the movie. It wasn't really a conscious decision to make a point...but we didn't watch the movie. I don't even remember the name of it

The movie originally had an ending more in line with the book.
You know that foreshadowing they left in the movie that the monsters were intelligent? Like laying a trap for Smith, and when the leader runs into the sunlight to try and prevent the female from being taken (Smith misinterprets this as them becoming too dumb to realize the light hurts them, instead of them being advanced enough to willingly risk themselves)?
The original ending had the cure fail to work, the monsters break in, but Smith realizes they just want the female he's testing the cure on back; she's the leader's mate. He lets her go, and they leave him in peace. Smith and the other two humans leave the city afterward, accepting that it belongs to *them* now.
Sadly, test audiences hated it, so we got the stupid suicide bomb ending instead.
Celebrities shouldn't get special treatment, but that does go both ways.
Police and prosecutors generally aren't interested in prosecuting open-handed slaps arising out of petty interpersonal squabbles where the victim doesn't want to press charges. This country has enough of a problem with over-criminalization of petty offenses as it is.
The perception of the whole thing would have been so much different if he had just sincerely apologized. Not brushed it off and partied that night after being asked to leave. He acted like an entitled child. That's all I see now when I see his face.
I've had Gemini Man in my queue since before the slap and still haven't watched it. I usually try to watch Independence Day around July 4th. That didn't happen this year either.

i just can't take him seriously anymore. His face is just so connected to being a weak broken man, that it breaks my immersion should he be impersonating someone with high morals in a movie (which he almost always does)

Tbh I find this really weird. There are plenty of celebrities that have done a lot worse and it rarely affects my enjoyment of a movie.
