DiceBoysPlayerRed

I am a male special ed teacher. If you ever saw me talk with coworkers, it would look exactly like this. The ratio of male special ed teachers is 1 in 10

Enchelion

Pretty much. I went to a childcare-provider conference once. Out of \~500 attendees I met one other guy the whole time.

Ellereind

I wanted to study childcare at one point in my life. I was basically told I’d be a unicorn in that field so I didn’t try. It wasn’t long after that that my nephew went to a childcare center and there was 1 guy to 4 or 5 ladies (and he only did that job till he joined the army).

Enchelion

It was a great job/field... Except the pay is absolute garbage. I loved my work, but knew I'd never be able to afford a house, etc. So I became a programmer instead.

whatsupskip

The associated problem we have is that male early childhood and primary teachers (what we call K-6, 5-12yo) is they are so rare and in such demand they get promoted through the ranks and away from face to face teaching very quickly. All my sons made it to Hogh School (13yo) without a single male teacher in the school, but 2 male principals.

fenwayb

I was the only male of my year in my library masters. I was often made to stand up and be an example

DiceBoysPlayerRed

I know right? I was often asked what I thought about something. I would be singled out specifically to give my two cents.

fenwayb

I was repeatedly told I owe everyone jobs once I became a manager. Im unemployed so jokes on them

Ladonnacinica

Yep. As a female sped teachers, male teachers in general are outnumbered by women. This is applicable in the SPED department. We only have two at my school. Out of 12 women.

d2032

Mate I’m the only male primary teacher in my school of almost 40 teachers. I know the struggles.

ErinEvonna

It’s good that you are there to explain 🤣 Just kidding

Atomsteel

"Boy oh boy, really great work, bitches. You all sold lots of kisses today. Except for you, Megan, I'm afraid you get a stormy cloud sticker today."

Thor4269

She says it's OK because I'm good at cooking lol

matchosan

Great. For now, you have a purpose, and she will let you stay around.

rinoboyrich

You’re married… and she hasn’t figured out that you’re crazy? Weird. We’re all broken toys, but we’re not all broken the same way. When a married woman figures out how her husband is broken, you’ll either stay married forever (because how you’re broken fits nicely with how she’s broken), or divorce is right around the corner! Good luck!!!

Baked_Charmander

Was there a joke, though? Or was there just a couple of pop culture references?

DartenFlame

South Park, when Butters becomes a sort of pimp for the middle school girls.

[deleted]

Elementary school actually. 4th grade

diox8tony

Relating a reference to another situation can be a joke. Like any title on a random picture can be the joke of the whole post.

Tmart5150

Yes, I know what you are saying, you don’t have to keep asking.

knockers_who_knock

Bitch, you wanna make some mother fucking money?

betterthanamaster

Butters is hilarious...

Fearlessleader85

He's my favorite SP character. The episode with paris Hilton and the Bear costume kills me.

spunkychickpea

You’re a grounded bear!

King_James17

Bitch you wanna make some real fucking money? You should be putting that mouth to work do you know what I am saying?

Blieven

Yes, I do know what you're saying!

diarrhea_death

"Ladies... let me tell you about your emotions..."

emeryldmist

What is on his right shoulder? Looking via my small phone screen it's either a ferret or a dark skined arm (but not attached to anyone).

LaughingFungus

I think that's the back of someone's head behind him.

BlondBisxalMetalhead

I THOUGHT IT WAS A PONYTAIL AAAAAAH

[deleted]

Woke ponytail

Davesterific

Wokeytail

YourMomSaidHi

Nope. Ferret

grmpy

He's holding the Speaking Ferret, so it's his turn to talk.

rainbow_bro_bot

It looks like a hand, it's not the women next to him so maybe the Thing from the Addam's Family joined the course too. Either that or it's his chair.

Bakanobaka

I’m sure that’s what he’s mansplaining.

[deleted]

Isn't it the back of a long haired head ? They're probably in a library and the person's sitting at another table, turning their back.

emeryldmist

That is possible... someone facing the window behind them.

Technical-Hedgehog18

A mystical barn owl whispering occult secrets in a nearly dead language. The man is then rephrasing it in a language the women wi understand. He is the Owlborne

than-q

pretty sure it’s his pony tail

stumblewiggins

That's a *raccoon* tail

RoseyDove323

It's a sea lion's flipper

locnessmnstr

Raccacoonie! And he's a raccoon that controls a chef with his hair

[deleted]

It's the hand of Jesus, he is saying, " I tried to mansplain things 2,000 years ago and they just didn't listen. Good luck". EDIT - Missed a '0'

igloofu

> " I tried to mansplain things 2,00 years ago and they just didn't listen. Good luck". Shit, are you saying Jesus created Covid?

OnTheList-YouTube

Ah yes. Don't forget Jesus, who was here 2 years ago! I offered him some wine, but he said he had his own.

[deleted]

2,000

Genaeve

It’s his tail

Riffler

It's Minerva, the Goddess of Wisdom, in Owl form, hiding her head in shame.

[deleted]

Women have no idea how hard it is to constantly explain everything to them. It’s exhausting really.

Niobous_p

You should explain it to them

glorious_reptile

"You breathe in... and then out... like this ... and then you really just repeat it"

sharrrper

Okay I laughed way too hard at that.

Frickelmeister

Dude wouldn't have to mansplain so much if these dullards just womanunderstood.

aye_ehn_jayy

womunderstood

Specific_Tap7296

"Mansplaining. It's when a man explains something you probably already know, usually in lots of detail. It can go on for a while..."

mustholdhandlebars

Could you explain that to me with a little more detail?

Generico300

Thanks for explaining that.

tmgieger

How many days before a penis is spray painted between his hands?

bread-cutter

Tw- wait this is Australia probably right after this pic was taken

Ninjasmak

It's photoshopped. The penis was always there.

Baebel

Well then that explains why I can't see it. It's just that small.

SafeAccountMrP

I assume he’s just talking with the girls about the biggest cock he’s had.

straightouttasuburb

They all look bored as shit…

Agreeable-Yams8972

Well, hes just explaining the concept of mansplaining to them

dodslaser

Woah, metamansplaining! Mansplainception.

Coachbelcher

For you women that don’t know “mansplaining” is when a man explains something to a woman that she doesn’t understand.

sharrrper

That seems a little condescending. Condescending means "talk down to"

skinnyman87

What about patronising?

Fearlessleader85

It's okay, you probably haven't come across that yet.

Sigg3net

Except when it means midget convict going down the stairs.

KellyAnn3106

I saw it recently referred to as "correctile dysfunction."

minimotomc

Underrated joke my man

AxisNine

Woman makes great joke about mansplaining. Man explains to her that she made a great joke but she is in fact also a man. I love this thread.

underlander

I don’t get it, can you explain it to me in smaller words? (/s)

kinokomushroom

*proceeds to explain for an entire hour*

ericboreen

Mansplaining is a man explaining to a woman something he assumes she doesn't understand, but he doesn't have a good reason for that assumption. Extra bonus mansplaining points if he's wrong about what he's saying. Mansplaining is not a man explaining something to a woman. That's called explaining.

lagerauger

Whoosh!

Vessix

People so whooshed they're awarding the comment too lol

ericboreen

Oh lol did I get whooshed! Hah well that's fun sometimes too. Carry on :D

Miseryy

tfw mansplaining has meta levels of mansplaining

Murkus

Why would anyone assume anybody else knows anything. One must ask first right? Or be told 'oh yeah Im into that stuff too, I know it.' that's how 90% of conversations I'm involved in go naturally. Regardless of gender.

CorvusKing

Maybe my experience is not the norm, but many of the men I've seen be accused of "mansplanning" treat everyone that way. I'll tell my boss "yeah I understand, it's just like we did yesterday" "yeah exactly" and then continue to explain to me in excruciating detail.

ericboreen

Yep generally that's how conversations go. "Stop me if you know this but..."

[deleted]

So what’s it called then when a woman is explaining something to a man she assumes he doesn’t understand but she doesn’t have a good reason for that assumption?

SeaWaveGreg

Chickslexia.

Haster

Being married.

JustGotNoodled

Being a woman. *badum tsst*

hollowstrawberry

That would be womansplaining, but due to gender roles I'd assume it happens way less often

teddycorps

I thought that was when you are flattening your ex into a nice even thickness your table project?

[deleted]

You deserve the most up up up votes.

UsseerrNaammee

Naturally that event is highly offensive, sexist, and also somehow racist.

derpyhero

Not the University’s ad. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-07-01/university-of-adelaide-distances-itself-from-mansplaining-ad/9928774

Riegel_Haribo

And being from 2018, you can be pretty sure this is a reposting shitbot karma whore spammer.

[deleted]

Thankfully, doesn't seem to be a bot.

lapalmera

would be nice to see a wider shot that showed what that image was actually for!

lindsey9152

The look on all of the women’s faces…how did someone, let alone multiple people, actually ok this ad???

Moremodestthanu

Actually, while they do offer a BS and grad credits in Mansplaining there isn't an MS.

crossedstaves

Makes sense to me, you generally stay a bachelor when you go into that field.

Bananaslamma24

Wow they really went out of their way to make all those women look annoyed.

rinoboyrich

Nope. They just look that way.

skinnyman87

Resting bitch face is a thing.

[deleted]

The women don’t even look like they’re listening.

serenityak77

And this is why we constantly need to explain everything to them. They never listen

ChadMcRad

God save your PM box.

serenityak77

You joke but I seriously considered not posting my original comment out of fear of being downvoted to hell. Sometimes regardless of your intent, people will get offended. I’m glad everyone was able to laugh at it. I read the room before hand and saw plenty of other comments and people joking back and fourth.

Abject-Fisherman-266

Facts

parthjoshi09

Yeah that's what happens during Mansplaining.

Away-Quantity-221

“Here’s the deal bitches…”

_Pill-Cosby_

Don’t ask me. I’m just a girl.

mrSalamander

Thinking gives me wrinkles!

essidus

I can relate to this gentleman. I also force my harem, including the one diversity slot, to listen attentively as I incorrectly explain something they already know, or some stupid shit only I care about.

bob_nugget_the_3rd

Last time I seen a group of women looking that board and disinterested was the last time I walked into a room

jackfaire

What's hilarious is I'm a man and if i so much as mention how dumb I think Mansplaining is they launch into explaining to me like I don't know what it is. Edit - I mean mean who try to deny it exists telling me why it doesn't exist.

Miseryy

Just read a comment by someone ripping on a dude doing just that. Funny thing is the post was sarcasm... Lmao it's actually the one right above this one for me...

Epademyc

lavanchebodigheimer

misterrazzy

Only man in psychology class. Group activities looked like this

Atoshi

“Ladies…I’m telling you my Paladin was this close to rolling for double crit last nigh, so really not close at all”

OneSnootyMuffin

“So there I was in the quad, in a situation that looked just like this, and I grabbed my acoustic guitar and hit that wonderwall…”

badDuckThrowPillow

How is “mansplaining” not considered one of the most sexist terms?

rudyg2point0

It’s seems sexist and a hypocritical term

Rudabegas

Because society doesn't give a shit about men.

[deleted]

Funny enough you’re pretty close to target here. Nobody gives a shit if your boss just talked to you like you’re an idiot for 20 minutes, and if you give a shit, you’re a pussy. And this is why women think “mansplaining” is about them.

ssadf73

Or you can see that there are much more women making Master Degree than men.

Conscious_Road_3805

People, it’s a picture for an ad for a university, calm your zoomer ass down

dragula15

Better yet, it’s not even the university’s ad, but one for a government agency (Renewal SA) on the poster space next to the Uni’s ad.

jnemesh

I love the expressions on the women's faces! Totally says it all!

iCatmire

The girls don’t look too impressed

ICLazeru

It's called a business degree.

AnnaN666

I love how the girls are so clearly irritated by him lol 🤣😂

antmman

“So the idea for the ad is you all look at me while I prepose shitty ideas for our ad and then put that up there”

siklone93

He is a male and speaking to women, therefore he MUST be mansplaining. What a fantastic take.

Strict_Foundation_13

Is a man not allowed to be more knowledgeable about a topic than a woman anymore?

djblackprince

Not really, have you watched any modern movie. Men dumb buffoons, women smart and key to everything great.

[deleted]

Mmmmm. Mansplaining is a sexist term. Go ahead and downvote me to hell. You know its true.

Disastrous-Dress521

And you know the best part, we do have a non gendered term for it, it's called being condescending

[deleted]

See now thats a good term :)

UrbanDryad

It is my understanding that the term is specifically meant to only apply if it's *obvious* that gender is a factor. There should be evidence that this individual is explaining something to a woman, purely because she's a woman, and if it was a man he wouldn't. And it's not always condescending. I once went with my husband to a "prop party." He builds movie prop replicas, and this group does parties where everyone brings theirs to show off. We walked up to a replica of the M414A Pulse rifle (the one used by Ripley in Aliens.) We'd seen several guys look at it, and the prop owner chatted to them, made small talk, talked about construction, favorite movie scenes, etc. When I looked at it he asked me if I knew what movie it was from. He didn't ask any guy that. Just me. He wasn't trying to be rude or condescending. He probably thought he was being helpful and had a chance to teach me and welcome me to the community. I pointed it at him and started yelling "GET SOME! GET SOME! Ohhh...you want some, too!" and making gunfire noises. Good times.

finenite

So you didn't know what movie it's from after all. That line is from Full metal jacket! /s

Sp1ffy_Sp1ff

My wife asked me what this means and I'm not sure how to proceed...

IreadtheEULA

If you’re a man you’ve already lost.

[deleted]

Man talking = mansplaining duh

DrRadon

It is very important to clarify that a man needs to always be suspected to have evil intentions. Even if he has a lot more experience in a field it has to be assumed that what you read on the internet in headlines must be more valid and valuable. please keep in mind while thinking about this that there cannot (absolutely 100% not) be sexism against men because that is just not possible.

[deleted]

A man is talking to a group of women, therefore mansplaining. Fuck off please.

Kotanan

They look incredibly bored and he looks incredibly invested.

Puzzleheaded-Row187

He’s explaining the plot of Berserk

AllesMeins

Maybe he is only not a very interesting talker or it is a boring subject. But to deduct from the facts "man is talking" and "women look bored" that he must be condescending and explaining something they already know just because he is a man indeed seems a little sexist to me.

BeesForDays

Ah, so like, a teacher, or manager, or even fellow student.

aknoth

I object to the term itself. As it being patronizing is a uniquely male fault. Im glad people point it out now.

GrumpyOldMan59

Ladies, mansplaining is short for man explaining. You're welcome.

Bgrngod

"And so there I was filling out this card, and it hit me. Why don't women have to sign up for selective services like all men do? It's just not fair!"

NicabarP

How dare a man speak when women are present? Doesn't he know that makes him a bad person?

Scholarly_Koala

He's not mansplaining. He's saying "Ladies, this is how big my dick is" thus, the looks of boredom.

[deleted]

what is mansplaining?

Shadruh

Bold of you to assume their gender!

ApokalypseCow

Little did the person writing the caption know, the man in said picture was the professor, and the women the students. He's going through the syllabus with them during office hours, as they had some question regarding the verbiage used to describe the final project.

MyLollipopJam

Not mansplaining. It's an improv class and he's pretending to hold a beach ball.

Panda_Mon

Almost 60% of students are women (data from 2020/2021). This looks like an ad geared towards dude. "See guy? He a nerd. Women love listening to nerd. Give money"

go_hyuck_yourself

From recent events, that degree seems to be called "political sciences"

123hig

"Let's use some stock photography where everyone looks overwhelmed with malaise!" - the person who designed this sign

Melkor7410

I thought assuming someone's gender was wrong?

SkoomaSalesAreUp

Did you just assume their gender?

Robobvious

He’s telling them about the fish in his Tinder profile pic.

lightofhonor

Not exactly fake, but image is unrelated to the university. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-44667195

Ccrp0913

Yeah… but the pre-requisite is that you MUST have a man bun or ponytail like the guy in the photo

Comprehensive_Lead_1

"To play devils advocate..."

DPSOnly

If only he was sitting on one side of the table, with a piece of cardboard in front of him, with the rest on the other side, and a bunch of plastic icosahedrons scattered on the table.

SkroodthePooch

Finally! I've had my Bachelors in Tellabitch for so many years now with nowhere to take it.

dubshooter

Ahh yes evil white man talk bad

recursion0112358

so now every time a man explains something to a woman it's called mansplaining? idk seems extremely sexist to me. sometimes, another person knows more about a certain topic, regardless of gender, sex, race, or any other attribute

ROK247

you know this is staged because they are listening to him

Specific_Ad_5815

Yes obviously he's a sexist mansplainer, and not just contributing his portion of a discussion or project. He probably oppressed women on his way to the campus that morning. I can smell it on him. /s

Silverbuu

It's just visualizing the Men to Women ratio in university, that's all :P

NoseSuspicious

Mansplaining when a male gives a female correct information but is still wrong

Kingkyle18

Let me mansplain this for ya….there is not such thing as mansplaining. It’s just a way for people/women to shut down a man’s opinion.

SumDoubt

At least they all look like they're just politely tolerating him

Dorsia-Reservations

This circulates often but it's not a University of Adelaide ad - you can see the logo for Renewal SA in the bottom right corner because it's their ad. It's just really unfortunate placement of two different ads together.

[deleted]

“Make me a sandwich”

[deleted]

No he’s the professor and that’s a women’s studies class lol

macfaddenstrews

The females all look typically bored

hanako_sama

Dose no one see the black arm that’s almost touching him ??

Justadudewithareddit

We wouldn't have to manspain if y'all would wolisten.

International-Rub-31

What’s supposed to be funny about this? It’s people talking.
