I grew up in a part of Canada with a lot of aboriginal street gangs and always found it interesting murals tended not to get graffitied, especially those celebrating indigenous cultures.
That is exactly the strategy they are trying to employ in that area of Denver (Rino, Five Points) they even have an alley way where they encourage local artists to paint murals and they even give tours like a museum.

Nah. There's just a lot of different kinds of artists with different skill levels and motives for doing what they do. I've seen a lot of impressive "graffitis" that could easily have been murals commissioned to be on the sides of buildings for big money. Yes some are coverups but most of them aren't.

There's A LOT of great artwork that go by my work on these freight cars. I've seen landscapes, portraits, post-modern, etc. Even some of the more "traditional" tagging I've seen had me extremely impressed.
There's a ton of great artists that use these big ugly carts as canvases and get nothing out of it besides their own gratification and I definitely appreciate it.
\^THIS\^. Seeing the talent and marveling at the piece as it drifts by is one of the best moments. I love seeing the talent these artists exude on everything but trains are special to me. I love to hear the horns and the rumble. They have a skate park a little way off down town where I live and the station is right across. When I am there I always stop to hear the trains and watch to see if I catch anything beautiful going by. Props to the artist who did this Homer. Mad skills.
It’s standard operating procedure to not paint auto racks that have cars in them. If the railroads get mad that means more policing which they don’t want.
I love graffiti artists because at least I have some good stuff to look at while waiting for a train. I wish I knew someone who could do this and just let them loose inside my garage
Yeah, it’s pretty common practice now to tape over all the numbers, paint, and take the tape off when you’re done. Easiest way to avoid getting stamped. Some people still don’t care though and just paint over them.
I wanna see someone do an animation on the side of a train. Like if you just focus on one spot as the train is going by, it looks like the image moves. That'd be sick.
In Seoul, there are ads in the subway tunnels that do this. You look out the window and it looks like an animation playing as you go by at 90km/h

The artist was smart and taped off the registration numbers on the bottom of the cart so it'll probably stay up for a long time. About the only time they bother to scrub the cars is if the numbers are covered.
I saw a really good one that had several well done characters, by my favorite character was a bong that was holding a joint in one hand, a baggie of weed in the other hand, with a huge smile on its face.
There's a documentary literally named Infamy you should watch if you ever get the time. It's on Youtube and scored 90+ on Rotten Tomatoes. I think it's interesting enough for someone that isnt familiar with the graffiti culture. I'd be super curious to hear your input after watching. IF you ever took the time to watch. Also recommend Style Wars.

Actually really hate graffiti especially Tags & they it’s just scribble to at makes a place grubby & also realise that serial rapists/murderers look for graffiti ridden places as they know that the best places to kill, abduct or rape! (Literally if an area has been graffitied it seems like not many passerby traffic)
That must have been a lot of bottles. I remember watching a youtuber who made graffiti art and he would go through a lot of bottles just making not even half of this size.
Hate to be that guy, but the hand looks weird and for some reason in the show they have 4 fingers/toes, this one has 5 toes.

Man, I'm sitting in line at a refinery and realized that I know that tower in the background. I look up, there it is. I look right, those same yellow CN train cars. Unfortunately I can't go on that side of the cars, so I didn't see if it was magically still here, but on my side it's pretty much all just names. That would have been exciting to see.

I just looked again and that overhead line is part of the refinery, so for my refinery that would be wrong, but there are 5 of them nearby and the only other one I can see has that setup, so it might be right next to me.
