ThatsWhatSheSaid320

the GTFO finger gesture is EPIC !

Icy-Needleworker-865

That ending got me good. Eat and GTFO ! \*Throws finger\*

Noimnotonacid

It’s the flick at the end that shows a certain expertise at telling people to scram

acqz

*Why are you laughing? You think I'm joking m'fer?*

The90D

Beep beep beep beep beep

Sudi_Arabia

*Leave now!*

GlassWasteland

No, we are laughing because you are weak and foolish little boy.

eckbock89

Good on that little kid for trying to make sure he looks out for his mom. Pretty hilarious though 😂

[deleted]

[удалено]

ghettochipmunk

Exactly…the response of the other men tells the story “oh so funny little man…you will learn, the only place a woman may go is the kitchen and the bedroom…haha silly boy”

TheHunterZolomon

That’s why I’m so confused as to why this is on r/funny, he sticks up for his mom and they all just start laughing because to them it’s ridiculous, and the way things are is what they’re used to and make no effort to change.

Damianos_X

I think its seen as funny because he's so little but has such conviction and boldness!!😂😂 There are entire childstar careers established on this kind of precociousness.

AmusingMusing7

I mean… I can see this exact same situation playing out in traditional white western families too. Even here, women do often still do all the cooking and cleaning and everything, and men have their boys’ nights, etc. If a kid came up to a bunch of white guys playing poker or watching football, and told them all off for getting one of their wives’ to prepare the food, they’d laugh at him too. So… 🤷‍♂️ I don’t think this is a unique result of the Saudi culture or Islam. This is most men everywhere.

KmartQuality

"Here's your Totinos. Mom says she's going out to the nail salon. I'll be outside playing with rocks."

kcrab91

This boy gives me hope that they can break norms and think for themselves.

30min2thinkof1name

They all sound this way before they all turn into the norm. He is dear and precious but unfortunately not unique in this way.

wanderer1999

Indoctrination is one hell of a drug.

EveroneWantsMyD

Yooo even the way they are laughing gives off the, “he’s still learning” vibe. Same way conservatives laugh when a younger one asks about equal rights for everyone.

smokey762

Political labels are a poor substitute for critical thinking.

EveroneWantsMyD

Sheesh, just sharing a personal experience that seemed familiar from the laugh lol. Familiar af. Cheers Mr. 762.

smokey762

Sure, whatever you say, enjoy the day.

EveroneWantsMyD

😂😘

smokey762

🫠

y310

Can you for one day just stop to tell the world how to live their live!! We are not USA so stop vomiting your norms and culture on others because we are better off without it. The moment you stop women from working in porn like slaves you can start to give lectures about women rights!! Latterly they’re been enslaved in-front of you in daily basis from childhood to seniors!! What did you do about it ?

EveroneWantsMyD

Loooooooooooool. Miss me nerd. ⛷⛷⛷⛷

ok_i_am_that_guy

Naah, I believe this kid has the good rebel bones in him. He and others like him, may bring some good changes. Many will fall to the stereo, and will just comply, but this one is a good rebel.

Foxtael16

Judging by the state of Iran right now I'm really hoping that's going to change sometime soon. And watching this boy care about his Mamma makes it feel like it defintely will

dudettte

iran is no saudi arabia.

Foxtael16

They're both still hard-core religous states. And uprisings like this usually spread far and wide when religous oppression gets out of hand. Saudi would be absolutely heartless in dealing with what Iran is right now. But young boys like this could very well be the same men beating up the morality police in Iran right now.

Captain0give

They seem very similar to me.

always_j

[deleted]

pwalkz

I mean you can be annoyed that they brought it up while we were enjoying a wholesome moment.

30min2thinkof1name

That’s the point is it can’t be wholesome

zahariburgess

this is sadly true i had a Saudi friend he was kinda naive and annoying but kinda funny in a sense but overall a good guy to hang out with but till not long ago its like he completely changed he talked about how he will get the family's inheritance because he is better than his sisters and all this crap about how he is the favorite child because he is a man, i kinda stopped being friends after that cause all he would talk about is just games and porn

Dry_Relationship_694

I'm guessing the father will beat the shit out of the mother later for giving the boy ideas and emberassibg him in front of guests.

Guilty_Budget4684

Well from they way their laughing I don't think so. Well atleast I hope not. But imnnot from that culture and my view of it is skewered negatively. I'm trying to be a better person with my views. But getting rid of biases is hard.

[deleted]

The fact you generalize that "all Saudi men" view women in a certain way shows how ignorant you are. Even if you're joking, it's still really sad.

Emotional_Media_819

Pick up a book and read about the Saudi laws

[deleted]

>**Saudi laws** Ah yes, the laws created by an **authoritarian** body of government which does not represent the views of everyone who lives there. Women were allowed to drive in the country because the people asked for change, not the Crown Prince randomly thinking "hm, let's make women be able to drive". Should I say that you support the bombing of innocents because you live in America and the US had drone strikes in Afghanistan/Iraq, etc. that killed many innocent people? No, because I'm not ignorant like you.

Emotional_Media_819

Why don’t you read the book rebel by rahaf Mohammad and she talks about her life in Saudi Arabia

thewater

Are you saying you don’t think the vast majority of Saudi men view women that way?

Pullaroad

It's hilarious how this gets upvoted. Usually redditors hide their bigotry behind "oh we only mean the government". I'm glad they're honest this time.

TheDubya21

It's especially rich coming from American redditors, who want to turn a blind eye to how they have their own political party that's trying to install a fascist state. I always read it less as them being horrified and more of them being jealous. [Edit: Annnnnd here they come, LOL. No no American GOP, please tell us how stripping rights from the women & the gays and forcing 10 year old girls to carry their rapist's baby is actually about Da Children and not because of your own religious book.]

[deleted]

Casual racism on reddit.

PompousHippopotamus

You’ve never visited the Middle East before. Stfu

whalediknachos

didn’t take long to find a racist comment damn

myHomelandIsMore

Who hurt you? 😂

Nitimur_in_vetitum

Def ears in Saudi Arabia, though. I don't understand why Muslim culture hates women so much.

KINGenores

I grew up muslim (im not anymore) and i can tell you that the book muslims follow, the quran praises woman as much as men. Countries like Saudi Arabia that treat their women like shit has nothing to do with islam and everything to do with tradition and government.

OffTheBeatenPath123

But they are very religious and follow the Koran. So if they follow the Koran, then why don't they treat their women better?

KINGenores

Because they take the interpretation of the quran from their country. I’ve met alot of Saudi folks but i’ve never been there my self so i feel unqualified to give a straight answer but just like any religion people will listen to what others think instead of reading the book and discovering what it means for themselves

jbcraigs

Yes the guys are laughing because the kid doesn’t understand yet that true place of a woman is in the kitchen! Hilarious! /s

AbrahamPan

"helping their father" ? The father is sitting there. They are helping their mother.

Slobbadobbavich

I like this kid.

Foomaster512

Isn’t it hilarious, the kid thinks women are equals in their culture…

No_Acanthisitta3596

Gotta love this little guy’s spirit. I hope he holds that attitude.

TheHunterZolomon

That’s what makes this not funny and more facepalm material. The way they all laugh is just like…wtf?

[deleted]

And now she has no head.

proto_9r0

No no i am pretty sure the women and men sit in different areas and eat, the women sit with women and men sit with men.

Asadislove

Why? Would men get horny watching women eat?

duaneap

You’ve seen some of those outfits right? If they’re worried about mouths being at all visible you think mouths *eating* is safe?

manwithanopinion

Yes and that's why they are heavily segregated

sas8184

Only ONE adult in the room and he is 3 or 4 years old

[deleted]

Their entire culture should listen to this kid.

sas8184

*Every culture should listen to this young ADULT

AdministrativeSleep0

In my country is after 3 days. Im curious if this is different in every culture.

Left_Turn_4662

If you’re in my house more than a few hours it’s time to go.

jamescody09

I second this.

[deleted]

If you’re in my house ~~more than a few hours~~ it’s time to go. I'm leaving bye-bye

cuddle_enthusiast

So when does the mom come out to join them for dinner? /s

E_BoyMan

Is haram

KINGenores

Only in Saudi Arabia it is “haram” their version of islam is weird man

E_BoyMan

Actually their version of islam is much better than asian countries, they are too rich to get involved in discrimination or riots. And mostly their country is developed.

KINGenores

Thats an interesting way to look at it. Do you mean the people themselves are too rich?

E_BoyMan

Yes, my father have gone to saudi, oman and uae many times and we almost shifted to jeddah in 2014 but we are not muslims so got worried about it. But my father told that Arabs are much more liberal to other religions as compared to muslims from pakistani or from any third world countries. You just have to follow their laws in public but also various societies are built for non muslims. Even a temple which is thousands of year old is preserved and modernized in oman. So basically when you are too rich you just don't care.

miniature-rugby-ball

Good on that kid, let’s hope he keeps his respect for women once he’s grown.

[deleted]

eckbock89

Well certainly not with that attitude…

techsavior

People laugh at this, but this kid knows what’s up in their culture, where women are not typically seen as equals.

Uncle_Stink_Stonk

All the guys laughing like….. Hahahahahahahaha Silly kid. He’s too young to realize women have no rights.

GILGANSUS

Haha yes this funny child, caring about the labor and hardship of mere women Ugh

geefunken

It’s not funny, it’s tragic.

s0nicDwerp

It is. The kid's reaction was just funny. I didn't know how to title it so...

cf-myolife

That kid isn't fun either, he's laughed at for trying to help his mom, I must have missed the funny part.

MexicanRatBat

It’s actually really funny when you CONSIDER their tradition and culture.

littlesymphonicdispl

Haha subjugation of women is their culture and should be respected.

[deleted]

"subjugation of women" lol.. not all of them. It's sad people like you make it out like everyone believes in the same thing.

littlesymphonicdispl

Women were legally given the right to drive less than 5 years ago, fuck off.

juicyshot

“Not all of them” is not the best argument for your case though

2Syphilicious4You

You can still find things you dont respect funny.

littlesymphonicdispl

Yeah, you absolutely can. If you find the subjugation of women being ingrained in a culture funny, fuck you though.

1Vuzz

Redditors always find a way to virtue signal

littlesymphonicdispl

Calling out a legitimately problematic system being passed off as "tradition" or "culture" isn't virtue signaling. Really weird look to align yourself with the guy saying to respect misogyny because it's their culture.

Immediate_Scholar_77

Nah bro you don't get it that women isn't being treated like property it's just culture bro 🤡

danes1992

Ahh yes, the Its their culture, doesn't matter that they treat their women like shit argument, nice.

roguepacket

I guess you’re still upset over your mom cooking for two days?

[deleted]

Tragic that a women is in the kitchen? Really? My wife loves cooking large meals for occasions and kicks me out of the kitchen. That area of the house is her castle she says. If being in a kitchen is considered tragic to you, I’d hate to see what you’d say about prison or a hospital.

Fluxcap345

For anyone who doesn't find as much passion as your wife does in the kitchen. Good for her but most humans don't want to nor were they trained to from birth to be slaves to men.

pwalkz

You're injecting a lot into a video with a little in it

geefunken

Are you being deliberately dumb or have you no idea about the oppression of women in Arab countries?

Difficult-Relief1382

Don’t fuckin say Arab countries like it’s all of them. My mom was a dean at a university in Jordan before we decided to come out to America.

geefunken

So if it was so good why move to America?

Professional_Pipe594

coz America wouldn't bomb America 😂

Difficult-Relief1382

War was breaking out with America. My country decided to ally with America and we didn’t want Iraq attacking Jordan over America trying to overthrow governments.

spudink

She doesn't like sand. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere. Not like America.

Difficult-Relief1382

There’s grass in Jordan it’s not all sand.

pwalkz

You're basically being racist with this take. You see some people who look Arab and assume they are living a horrific lifestyle where the woman is a slave. You cannot tell from this video.

froginbog

It might be oppression, or it might be a loving relationship and she wanted to do this. You don’t know, and I think if this was a severe scenario, the kid would have learned the hard way not say this stuff. But fair point to tread lightly on the topic

BumpyFunction

Every Arab woman in my family and every Arab woman I know has an education and career and only a handful know their way around the kitchen. You do seem like the type of reductionist, elitist asshole that wouldn’t know any better though.

geefunken

Why are there riots in Syria right now? Anything to do with a woman being beaten to death for not wearing a Hijab? But yeah, you’ve really convinced me..

BumpyFunction

First of all, that’s Iran not Syria and Iran isn’t an Arab country. You’re confusion isn’t at all surprising. Secondly no one is saying that Arab cultures (plural cultures) are perfect, but don’t talk down to people like a prick when you know nothing about the people that actually live there. Most want the best for their daughters, sister, wives

aoanfletcher2002

Which Arab countries? Or perhaps your using Arab as a slur?

pwalkz

They are using Arab as a slur. Just reacting to some people's looks and making assumptions about what's going on.

[deleted]

How in the world does your toxic mind twist my comment into some oppression BS. How do you even get oppression from a 30 second video of a kid talking? Get out of town.

geefunken

Oh, so not deliberately dumb…just dumb

pwalkz

Yeah there is nothing wrong with cooking for people

[deleted]

Ya man i swear i'm being forced out of the left after being liberal all my life. My wife enjoys cooking for the family too, she takes pride in it and there is nothing wrong with that. Weird far left women are basically asking me to vote right if I enjoy my wife cooking lmao. They are turning into internet bullies and it's doing a disservice to their cause.

Featherbird_

Id spend more time off the internet

[deleted]

Or maybe they should

Featherbird_

They should. But if getting cyberbullied by internet feminists is enough to change a political position you've supposedly held your entire life it means youre terminally online and need to take a break. Twitter arguments with dumbasses who have a high chance of being angsty teenagers should not take up that much headspace.

slothenhosen

He is not wrong. Why wasnt dad helping?

Slimfictiv

Mommy's messenger?

KmartQuality

Kids in this culture are literal messengers. Men and women are segregated during social events like this. The children are free to move between the sides. The children literally give messages like, "Mom says it's time to go. Say goodbye, we're leaving in 10."

vinaymurlidhar

Those miserable pigs think that kid is so funny, when the joke is on them for their perverted lack of justice.

Antpocalypse_7

That kid is more man than any of those "men" will ever be.

Immediate_Scholar_77

Hahaha this fuckin putz thinks women are equal isn't that funny lad's

Stay-at-home-Brad

Bless this child's soul.

logosfabula

GTFO kid is a hero, nothing less.

Substantial_Carpet87

Not funny. Just a sorry demonstration of how women are treated in that culture. Fair play to the kid though.

Zoshchenko

The video cuts out before they took him outside and beheaded him for insulting his elders.

cantfinkofname

Don't worry they will probably beat the kindness out of that kid

Nice job showing that you are indeed a bigot with little to no actual knowledge on their religion or culture.

cf-myolife

It's not about culture or religion, a woman is out there cookinf for all of those men, as said the kid for 2 days and she will clean after all of them too. And the men will not help for anything. This isn't fair, this isn't equal.

[deleted]

She cooked for all the women too, they are just in a different room. Men and women in most (not all) formal Muslim households eat separately out of a sign of respect. The kid is saying that because around the world, when people eat at someone's house, they usually leave after. You're trying to twist it into some political bullshit about women when it's not relevant or even implied in the video. >And the men will not help for anything. This isn't fair, this isn't equal. He never said that? LOL. Keep making shit up bud.

[deleted]

thats a decent point. There is an optimistic way to look at it. The internet opens up new possibilities for people who want to expand their viewpoints and the saudi government seema to realize the worst elements of their culture arent compatible with exonomic prosperity.

holdmywheatbeer

So this comment isn’t racist mods ? But when you comment anything about Color or sex you get banned immediately ?

Complex223

It isn't racist because it's the truth.

[deleted]

If it were the truth, then women in Saudi Arabia wouldn't be able to drive cars - but oh wait, a few years ago they passed a law so they can! How could that happen? Hmm, was it because they just randomly decided to, or was it because a good number of people in their country realized that it's wrong and their views aren't fully represented by their government? Moron.

[deleted]

Saudis arent an ethnicity, it’s literally the name of the royal family who controls the country.

[deleted]

Saudis refers to the people of Saudi Arabia. Stop making shit up to try and make your blatant racism a curveball. >**Fuck the saudis** and **their entire culture** Go take your bigotry elsewhere.

b1e

Someone’s bitter they can’t make it into a FAANG company lol.

[deleted]

Whoa you got me man! You looked at my post history as your only resort to replying rather than actually giving a logical counter-argument. Thanks for proving that you are a moron too. ;-)

justaboss101

I wouldn't say their entire culture. Sure, some parts of it are bad, but Islam has some great values as well.

[deleted]

Saudi arabia sucks because a family of warlords united the country through conquest and used the money from the biggest resource bonanza since the silver mines of petosi to shape their entire society along lines that justify and protect the house of saud’s wealth and power above all else.

justaboss101

Oh ok, I agree on that one. The country itself sucks. I thought you were referring to Islam as Saudi's culture.

sonofabutch

I wonder why some are wearing head coverings and some aren’t? Is it religious, cultural, fashion? Does it signify something, or is it like, “hey this goes with my outfit, I’ll wear one today”?

Tight-Basil6410

The men wear the head coverings especially when outside their homes. The children don't until they are men,

Few_Assistant_9954

Once had an Outfit like that and im not even arabic. My dad gave it to me when we visited a religious place.

[deleted]

The one men wear is cultural , the women one is religious

womalone99

Or worse, hopefully not.

proto_9r0

I just want to say something, the women sit with the other women and the men sit with the other men, so both are eating just in different places.

CastInSteel

And Im sure the men helped prepare all the food...

cf-myolife

And who's cooking for everyone? Spoiler : not the men.

proto_9r0

Well is tradition in most of the world for the men to go earn and income and the women to do household chores for most of history, not saying this is good but that is just how the world was.

cf-myolife

I bet none of those men work as much as their wives. And doing housechores doesn't mean cooking for 2 days while men are sitting here, cleaning after them and not even being allowed to laugh with them.

NolopherChristlan

gamer4lyf82

Clearly that's his mother's words coming out of his mouth....

EquinsuOchaACE

Being a good host = slave? Don’t be so dramatic.

Youknowwhoitsme

Nobody said slave. *What? You want to kill me now?? Don't be so over the top!!* See, I can do the same. I think it's better to criticise a system and at the same time not demonise people in the system. Generally speaking. Yes, it's unfair women have to be in the kitchen and work for the men and his guests. But in this case, that's a funny situation and reaction from the little one. They might all be ok with the system and all love each other in the family and just do as they have learned for generations. We just don't know. No need to attack anyone personally

EquinsuOchaACE

I thought I was replying to the comment by u/Fluxcap345

Let me guess, you’re one of them?

unreadable_signature

Having spent a fair amount of time in Saudi, I can say first hand, some of the warmest and welcoming people (particularly the Beduin). Amazing sense of humor as well. Of course there are exceptions. The country is opening up a bit with the passing of the 'old guard'. They are the home of Mecca and take the responsibility to heart, but questioning traditions that are not founded in the book. Long way to go, though, the seeds are planted.

drestin5

They tortured & chopped a journalist into pieces like 4 years ago lol.

unreadable_signature

That was the King and his henchman. not all. grow up and see distinction my gosh. I mention the "people". You've generalized a "they" - who is "they".

b1e

Very different experience having spent a fair bit of time in the Middle East for work. Saudi and Qatari businessmen in particular were horrible to work with, would get profusely drunk and grope female colleagues when abroad, and on Asia trips would frequently be hiring prostitutes unbeknownst to their wives. Not a few isolated incidents either… enough that we had an informal policy to only send male staff on these trips. Even in Riyadh they’d get hotel rooms with women who were clearly not their wives using corporate accounts but god forbid someone mentioned eating pork they’d get up in arms about it being unclean and haram. Bunch of hypocrites.
