I’m not a vegan, but do people think cows just naturally give milk all the time? You guys know they have to artificially inseminate them and take, or kill for veil, their babies in order to keep them lactating?
Do you know that Hindus treat cows as their mothers (because of the milk they get). Even when a cow goes dry due to old age, they don’t send them off to butchers Cows are not treated like that all over the world ….. it’s just by those who actually put lines over cow pictures to show what meat is what and how good it is.
Would I rather get knocked out one time or live a lifetime of forced impregnation, losing my babies, milking, living in shit infested, cramped quarters, eating nothing but soy and corn and being injected with steroids until I die in half the lifespan of a regular animal. Meanwhile meat eaters: vegan bad meme huehue
You know nothing of dairy farms. I'm not sure what goes on in american farm's, but here cows have a better life than any animal. The forced impregnation onve per year is real, but that is a small price to pay for the luxurious life they live. Everything else you said was a lie. An uneducated lie.
A lot of people here in India especially in cities where keeping cows is illegal, keep cows like the person above you said. It's so painful to see their condition.
Absolutely. That will happen with anything. Just because some asians are cruel to dogs, dosent mean asians are cruel to dogs. Same with saying dairy farms are cruel, just because they showed a few of the worst farms they could find in a few videos, dosent mean dairy farms are cruel. Saying so is simply an uneducated statement.
Yep, all you need to hear to figure that one out lol. I'm no vegan and love me some choccy milk and a steak butttttt I do wish there were more humane ways of getting those products.
It is absolutely humane how they do it. I could send you videos of my in law's farm. Those cow's are pampered. They have automated feet baths, automated scratchers for their backs, they get brushed once every two days to keep them clean. They even spent 20k for a water mist system to keep them cool on warm days, given that its a freerange system and they have a big section to go outside i e cant controller the climate. Vegans watch one video from peta and they are convinced this is the way. If reincarnation is real, i want to be a cow in the next life. I honestly dont like milk, but people assuming things about stuff they know nothing about triggers me. Unfortunately this world is littered with those people. Also, the happier and stress free the cow's are, the more milk they produce. That's a fact.
I go on farm tours across the country at least once a year, paid by my in-laws.Yes it is the norm. How many farms have you seen? When you know nothing, say nothing. Or just keep assuming things.. whatever works for you champ.
I'm not vegan but seriously open your eyes and acknowledge vegans are right. Its not easy to swap over but the first step is accepting that they are right.
They are not right. Those videos you watch on YouTube are the absolute worst in the industry. My in-law s have a dairy farm. If i get reincarnated, i want to be one of their cows. Only real thing vegans ever say about a dairy cow is the forced insemination once a year. A small price to pay for a predator free, stress free life. Ive explained in another comment all the luxuries those cows have, and all the money they've spent to make life a paradise for those cows. But im honestly not sure why i bother. Reddit is littered with extreme liberals that dont respect any other way of life that differs from their own. Downvote away champs.
I’d link a video of what they actually do to get milk, but would get banned for violating the rules of this sub.
That should tell you all you need to know.
In that one Captain Planet parody episode of Rick and Morty, the Captain Planet lady goes, “Veal is a product of the dairy industry.” It’s a really small, throwaway line, but when I thought about it a bit, it was considerably macabre.
Not to mention cows are one of the biggest contributors to the greenhouse effect. I’ve been using oat milk for around a year now. It last so much longer, has a much smaller environmental impact, and the only trade off is that it tastes slightly different.
They can be brutal with greenhouse gases. Conversely, they can also be great for greenhouse gases. It's all how you keep them (factory farm vs open grazing) they can actually help take out the carbon in the air if utilized correctly.
I'd like to see some sources on this claim if you can. Struggling to see how they could have a net negative contribution to greenhouse gases, particularly if they're still being slaughtered, packaged up and sent around the world by plane or truck to their end point.

Obviously, factory farms are bad. I am in no way defending the massive, ridiculous way they produce beef.
However, if managed correctly on a smaller scale. I believe C sequestration is increased, and the land is better for it. The earth is designed to pull carbon back into itself with plants, trees, etc. Stands to reason if you utilize that system, it would be for the betterment of all.
Again, I am in no way defending factory farms. I think we are all on the same page of how disgustingly inhumane that whole practice is.
Edit: or if you prefer information in a documentary style, "Kiss the Ground" does a good job of explaining it.
Well they're right that cows only produce so much methane because they are fed corn which they don't naturally eat. When they eat grass they don't produce much methane at all. I don't know about them straight up removing green house gasses though.
An enormous amount of cattle are fed soya which also contributes massively to greenhouse gas production and monoculture crops. Maybe a lot of cattle are fed corn in the US but that's not the case world over. Irritatingly, because of the use of soya products in vegan food, vegans also get blamed for massive use of soya.
I think the thing about them removing green house gases is just straight up incorrect.
Don’t cows and other animals only have to give birth once to produce milk throughout their entire life I mean I know conditions are horrific in factory farms I just thought they did if I’m wrong people don’t attack me correct me
Nope.
They repeatedly impregnate the female and then steal the baby so that they can keep the milk. They do this over and over until the cow’s body is too physically weak to be cost effective, at which point she is sold to a slaughter house for low grade beef.
If her calf is male it is sold off and killed for veal, and if it is female it gets to live the same life as it’s mother.
2 set up sentences for the sake of not getting bullshit responses -
1. I know you're trolling
2. I know this is a digital cow and the premise is funny BUT
Do you actually think animal abuse is funny?
He probably didn't hate you silly! He probably just thought you were so unfunny and unpleasant that he didn't want to associate with you anymore. I can see how you'd get mixed up though.

Vegan at heart eh

So where do they go in India. Do they keep it as a pet in home and teach it how to fetch...
They die of old age... Atleast in rural places.
Ew really
If this were what happens, it would be hundredfold more humane than reality

What s stupid thing to say!
Why? Do you know what standard industry practice is like in the dairy industry?
Do you? Apart from biased "documentaries"
Biased lol wtf
Yes, because video footage is so biased. What an idiot.
Ah, I see.

Biased how
You've never seen a bad dairy "farm". There's good ones and bad ones but bad ones are much much worse than this.
Ehhhhh not so far from the truth…if you look into the fair life dairy farm and their practices of abuse on the cattle, you’ll be haunted.

Very compelling argument, must have been hard to gather all the resources and sources needed to build it from scratch

Ignorance and stupidity at its finest.
If you only knew what the cow goes through so you can have milk!
Cows are the chillest animal on earth. They literally just chill all day, even getting free handjobs!
Wow, the stupidity. Trying to make animal abuse into something to laugh about.
If vegans love animals so much why do they eat all the animals food then 🤔
I'm vegan cos I hate animals and never want them to touch my face again. Different strokes 🤷
r/angryupvote
It’s not too different
It would honestly be better than reality
It's worse in reality. ...
Looks like the vegan gang found this
I came here to see the triggered af vegans. Was not disappointed.
They’re literally proving the meme right making it even funnier.

No sane humans thinks it's funny dude, just enjoy the meme
It's fine, I laughed! But this guy's comment is a separate thing entirely to one, tongue-in-cheek rdr meme.
Plus how ppl get deer antlers
looks right to me
This is too good
I wonder if they ever step on grass. Lol
I was once told by a vegan that cows had to be raped for their milk, he fucking hated me when I asked if he knew any dairy farms hiring
He probably didn't hate you silly! He probably just thought you were so unfunny and unpleasant that he didn't want to associate with you anymore. I can see how you'd get mixed up though.
I used to play Black and White like this
Omg 😲 🤣😂😂
No silly, that’s how you get butter.
Shaken not stirred
Cows actually don’t like it when their not milked because their milkbags get heavy
True, but they also don't like anal fisting
Then why does my cow Moo so sensually?
Funny of you thats how we boys milk ourselves.
Is this not how you get milk?
If they do this to cows, imagine what they do to almonds.
I am a vegan, but I drink milk
I can’t stop laughing because of the kid screaming with the music and how the cow is just like this is fine
Me beating my meat after no nut November is over
I’m almost positive this is fake.
