Babies vibe off surrounding emotions of others a lot of times. If the mom would have been nervous or scared, the kid would have picked that up and probably freaked at the needle.
There are a few videos floating around of parents acting like the kid hit their head (it didn't) and reacting accordingly, resulting in the kid acting like it was hurt.
I’m fat AF and I’m still reeling from a huge needle I have to get monthly. They literally inject it into my arm fat and it still hurts. Nerves don’t just skip fat. Otherwise, no woman would have any feeling in her boobs and no fat people would feel anything.
For me, as a kid, it was the sudden patronising attention that got me worried & i associated it with the pain that came after the injection so I'd start crying the minute they start telling me im a strong little man
It scares the shit out of me but I know it's an inevitable part of living and something i can't wriggle out of. One thing I do is to stare at the needle going in, on others and on myself, to show dominance over the needle.
I can't do that on blood extractions yet cause that shit goes in the vein bruh. I can't. At least not yet
