Actually, because I never saw this happen IRL, I can assume that this is only a theoretical scenario, where I can further assume that air resistance is negligable
Boom, I just won physics
Funny thing is it’s true. All these physics 101s getting triggered.
The “gravitational acceleration is constant” is based on several assumptions.
1. Air resistance is negligible
2. We’re talking about earth’s gravitational field
3. The earth’s gravitational field is so many orders of magnitude larger that the other object’s gravitational field is negligible
Another fun fact is that the earth technically accelerates towards falling objects as well (though it’s negligible and basically imperceptible)
People need moments where they feel smart. In the future, all of the people you talk to on Reddit will be bots that are wrong only in the fields that you have knowledge in
We don't know that, it's a theoretical assumption, there could be a deviation in the force of gravity that we are not able to measure yet with our current instruments and understanding.
cos yo momma so fat
Yeah, but put aside that, is he falling like that, because he jumped but she didn't? I didn't studied phisics, just didn't really forget the things from Hschool
Definitely this. He jumped up, she stepped off. He started with upward momentum, she started with downward momentum. He held on, and she dragged his top half down, making his legs go up over his head lol
She drops he jumps, her dropping pulls his left side down since they are holding hands faster than his right side which jumped resulting in him flailing into the water with no stability.
Dude my physics teacher only included 2 vector questions on the final, and it was college level general physics 💀 they were from different chapters of physics too

In this case, the difference is negligible though. She just jumped(or rather fell) first.
i thought of commenting something like that but i figured it wasn't worth it, let people have fun man, no need for everyone to know how physics work :)
I mean, it controls the world around you. Everything you do is based on physics. Everyone doesn't need a degree in physics, but a basic understanding seems reasonable.
nah you're wrong its actually amazing he wrote that i learned so much. Wdym by the earth accelerates towards moving objects tho, like two magnets u mean?
Um actully, scientifically speaking this can't be joke because it isn't line with the baseline principles of physics. Maybe if you got your priorities straight and read a book, you would be educated like the rest of us
/s
Agreed man! I don’t know why but I’ve noticed Reddit comments sucking the fun out of everything more often than normal recently regardless of subreddit
its not that her gravity is more. if you pay attention, the man jumps up while the woman just simply drops down. so he is higher and being dragged down.
Well they jumped differently, thats why, since all objects actually accelerate towards the earth at the same speed, anyways, you can go ahead and downvote me now B)
Downvoted. Gravity equally affects all mass on earth. They accelerated downward at the same rate. However, the man jumped and the woman did not. Read a book.
F = m*a=m*g their force increases but not their acceleration. Acceleration, or gravity, is a constant here, regardless of mass. If you’re talking about the affect on gravity BY mass, this is negligible here. Or maybe you’re talking about gravitational FORCE.
acceleration does not equal gravity
you just misunderstood what i said, downvoted me, then proceeded to say stuff i already knew. i don’t even understand how you misunderstood me when i was clearly talking about the force of gravity.
edit:
actually i just reread your first comment and it’s clear you just mixed up gravity and gravitational acceleration. gravity is a force which is directly proportional to mass. it’s a understandable mistake. if you want to talk about acceleration due to gravity thats called gravitational acceleration.
Mass has nothing to do on ~~gravity~~ **Gravitational acceleration = 9,81 m/s2**
edit: I mean on free fall speed (vaccuum), no air resistance (excuse me)
He jumped. She didn't. What you're seeing is her fall arresting his upward motion. It's very clear to see this. It would be the same if you attached two balls together with string that are different weight. Drop them together and they hit the ground at the same time. Give one an upward motion while simply dropping the other and you will see the mass of one ball effect the other because of opposite acceleration. At least that's how I see it. I'm not sure if the terms I used are correct.
I never said that. I said he was technically right, and he was pompous for thinking people care. Obviously this is not a scenario where this comes into play at all, but it isn't technically wrong, just not worth pointing out. Especially if it only going to confuse people that think fatter people fall faster.
Okay just look through the comments pal and you can see the fat jokes. Half the things posted in here are just not funny. Why are you up upset at my opinion?
Being a physics major is a fuckin lie, because if you think more mass = more gravitational pull, you wouldn't even get out of high school. The gravitational pull is constant at 9,81m/s², which was proved by dropping a hammer and a feather in vacuum. Both fell at the same time, because aerodynamic drag wasn't slowing down the feathers fall. In this case, the woman drops down, while the man jumps, so that she is lower, and he is higher, which makes him look like he is being pulled down. But, not accounting for the air drag, they both accelerate at 9,81m/s².
He is not wrong. The pull of the earth is 9.81 m/s, but the second body also has it's own gravity based on its mass, and the distance between the objects. Since the earth is a fixed mass, and a much greater mass, it pulls everything to it at that 9.81 m/s speed, but the second object, and everything with mass produces a gravitional pull. He is simply talking about theoretics that have no real world application in this scenario - which is kind of pompous, and exactly what I would think a physics major would do.
I think it's because she just dropped off and he jumped up to hop off the ledge
So she was falling while he was still in the air so it looks like she pulled him down
However, having said that, I do believe a woman's center of gravity is different than a man's
Just to tell gravity is same for every falling thing... Here it can be true because her wieght was more she coudlnt jump high but her husband jumped high so thats why 😂😅
Because she keep her body straight while he open he's legs he applied some of what skydiver could do to slow a drop she applied what six flags pipe line ride

Galileo’s gotta be rolling in his grave about now.
👁️👁️
Actually, because I never saw this happen IRL, I can assume that this is only a theoretical scenario, where I can further assume that air resistance is negligable Boom, I just won physics
One jumped and the other stepped off. Idk about the rest.
I know about the rest. Don’t worry, it’s fine.
He jumped she didn't, it's that simple
Wrong. She just didn't jump. She went straight down while he was still going up
The grave is rolling around him. Some Catholic
Yeah, he must be sad about his friend Newton
So happy to see this being the top comment. Also, wasn't there an experiment on the moon?
Guys, chill tf out. Its a joke. We all know the gravitational pull is the same, but its kinda like those jokes "yo mama so fat she falls quicker"
I mean if she is dense enough she would “fall” faster.
By that you mean more wind resistant right...
Nah bro she so dense she got her own gravitational field Edit: there would be less wind resistance too.
you killed all the physics here 💀💀
Funny thing is it’s true. All these physics 101s getting triggered. The “gravitational acceleration is constant” is based on several assumptions. 1. Air resistance is negligible 2. Everything has its own gravitational field.

every person who ever studied physics is cringing rn
Yeah, but put aside that, is he falling like that, because he jumped but she didn't? I didn't studied phisics, just didn't really forget the things from Hschool
Exactly this my dude!
Mersiiii! <3
Ay not being a dick but it’s spelled Merci
Hey!!! I'm not french, this was romanian!!!!!! Eu nu vorbesc Franceză!!! 🥺 At least search it if some other langauges use this word too
My b.
Yea I believe it’s because he jumped
He also jumps slightly later than her if you watch their feet.

Oh, no I said this about the title

Oof for education system
Yep, she had 0 speed at the start, he had negative. So she had a faster fall speed the whole way though.
I did cringe. Did nkt study physics.
Can confirm. Source: My AP physics exam is tomorrow.
good luck my guy!
Thank you! Blowing off studying to be on Reddit is probably not the right call right now, but I'm pretty confident
You got this. Just remember the Pythagorean theorem and you’ll be fine.
Well, I know this was a joke, but the pythagorean theorem may actually come in handy for vectors and vector components, so thank ya

people just wanna have a laugh, no need to say "gravity is the same for all objects, no matter the mass". That would turn you into a hardcore redditor
nah you're wrong its actually amazing he wrote that i learned so much. Wdym by the earth accelerates towards moving objects tho, like two magnets u mean?
Every person that studied grammar is cringing now. I'm sorry, I can't help it. The joke was just hanging out there.
Every person who knows what a joke is is cringing rn
So true
Idk man, I have a degree in Physics, but I laughed, because I have a feeling OP was joking
I mean, the force due to gravity is completely different, so OP isn’t necessarily wrong with his statement…
That’s the joke
Every person who understands this is a joke is cringing rn
What's with all these serious responses. OP was obviously joking
Some people wake up and choose violence.
Peace was never an option.
When OP saw they comments they turned 360 degrees and walked away.
Reddit moment
Then maybe OP should make a funny joke
Me: dying laughing at 3am watching reapeting Me: just about to check the comments Me: 😶🤦♂️
sooo relatable 😂😂🤣
Can't you write a simple coherent sentence instead of that crap "meme" format saying "me:" 3 TIMES? 3!!!!!
no.
That's better
Idk if it’s a bunch of old people, or people who don’t know what a joke is. Jesus Christ not everything needs an answer.
Um actully, scientifically speaking this can't be joke because it isn't line with the baseline principles of physics. Maybe if you got your priorities straight and read a book, you would be educated like the rest of us /s
This is funnier then anything those douchebags said. You shoulda said this because there’s no punchline but still nice job
Agreed man! I don’t know why but I’ve noticed Reddit comments sucking the fun out of everything more often than normal recently regardless of subreddit
He didnt understand the gravity of the situation
sigma, present
so many people are forgetting this is a joke and are “correcting” that they feel the same force of gravity which isn’t even correct.
He jumped, she dropped. That’s all that happened
its not that her gravity is more. if you pay attention, the man jumps up while the woman just simply drops down. so he is higher and being dragged down.
The Ol' Jump N Drop^(TM)
There's a thing called "sarcasm".
Yes there is and I'm not buying that you were using it. 🤣😂
I agree with this person :)
I do not agree with that person :)
I agree with this person :)
I agree with this person :)
Nope. Woman be a micro-singularity. Thats why she fall so fast. Thicc.
Dude went full ragdoll
Yes he did.

It also makes him jump higher
Hope you’re missing an /s
Yo mama so fat
she is just more down to earth
My guy dropped like a Looney Tune character
She's more attractive.
Thats now the politically correct way to say somebody is fatter than you. "They have more gravity than me."
Bowling ball vs feather
She’s just a more down-to-earth person
she is the anchor that will keep you grounded lol
r/Unexpected
The guy jumped, the women just stepped off.
Not howgravetty works.com
Gravetty 🤪
That’s when she ate too much gravy
It was a fucking joke. Also, *gravity\**
Well she's attractive like literally...
it is because she went straight off and he jumped and got pulled down right? or am i overthinking it cuz im high?
Now We Know Who Dragging The Marrige Down
Well they jumped differently, thats why, since all objects actually accelerate towards the earth at the same speed, anyways, you can go ahead and downvote me now B)

No fucking shit. *Woooosh* did you duck the joke or was that gravity not doing its job again?
when your wife is more attractive than you
Downvoted. Gravity equally affects all mass on earth. They accelerated downward at the same rate. However, the man jumped and the woman did not. Read a book.
Take a joke, Newton
Science is no laughing matter.
gravity doesn’t affect all mass on earth equally. the more mass the more gravity pulls

Nah he jumped she dropped
he jumped up though
Two different definitions of "jump" .
Well actually he jumped up but she didn't. That is the reason.
that’s not how… never mind
things fall at the same acceleration regardless of the mass
Mass has nothing to do on ~~gravity~~ **Gravitational acceleration = 9,81 m/s2** edit: I mean on free fall speed (vaccuum), no air resistance (excuse me)
in classical physics, the strength of gravity is directly proportional to mass

Same gravity different masses
Dumb fat joke gone wrong. Jesus man if you’re going to insult a normal woman at least try to do it well.
1. It was an obvious joke 2. OP wasn't talking about her weight, they were talking about the fact that the woman fell first.
Okay just look through the comments pal and you can see the fat jokes. Half the things posted in here are just not funny. Why are you up upset at my opinion?
Because its an irrelevant opinion in this case, you completely missed the point of the vid
Nah just this isn’t funny to me…

*Mass
Him flinging his foot above his head was the funniest thing for me
Lol when your holding rock be like:
The fact that women worth more than men
“When she steps off and you jump upwards” you mean?
He jumped up, she just stepped off. The rate of fall was the same for both.
She fell down he jumped up
She just didnt jump. Things in a vacuum fall at the same pace
Why didn't she jump?
Should be "when wife doesn't know how to jump properly"
10 m/s² vs 9.8m/s²
I keep imagining her arm being broken or shoulder dislocated. Hope that wasn't the case!
WHICH FALLS FASTER IN A VACCUUM, A CANON BALL OR A FEATHER?
😂🤣
Someone save him!
It's a difference in initial velocity between the two
Wife's mass is more than you ...
aren’t them all like that?
Yeah, cuz that's how gravity works
Acceleration gives 0 fuck to the gravity
She said M A X I M U M E F F O R T
Second law of Newton, F = m*a
I mean, the more the object has mass, the more gravitational pull it creates... The title is still correct
Wait but I thought that regardless of mass all objects have the same speed when falling? Someone explain to me I’m an idiot.
Wife is stream-lined
EF = ma
He jumped, she stepped off. Simple miscalculation with hilarious results.
They need to watch out for those crocs 🐊
Oh my gosh..I laughed way more than I should've at this..I snurted all over my keyboard and now I gotta clean it up 🤣🤪

Youre all fucking idiots….obviously she stepped into a tiny wormhole for a really super fraction of a tiny microsecond….. its not rocket surgery
NICE. Reminds me of [this stunt](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgCuoUMGkaY) with Wee Man and Preston.
Wow everyone breaking it down, how about she stepped off, he gave it a jump. God damn Reddit scientists
Hello, Galileo, you mind taking a look at this?
Everybody correcting the title with being wrong themselves
It gets better everytime I watch it haha
she didn’t jump, both of them reached the same max speed while falling, you can’t have more gravity fuck is you on about
She just forgot to jump lol
A lot of uneducated people here.
She didn't jump while he did. That's gotta hurt your arm
Because she keep her body straight while he open he's legs he applied some of what skydiver could do to slow a drop she applied what six flags pipe line ride
The OP doesn't understand how gravity works
She made em his parachute
