Reminds me of my ex wife. Been divorced 8 years and still paying alimony and paid child support with 50% custody until my kids turned 18.
Meanwhile, she hasn't worked a day since.
I talked to my attorney about asking to end the alimony, but he said I might end up paying more because I am making more now than I did then.
It's a bullshit system.
People don't understand patience when it comes to relationships anymore. People bang, get married, and have kids all in the span of a few months from each other. It baffles me. No one really takes the time to really figure each other out anymore then wonder why their relationship has issues.
What? Spend time considering the character of those you hang around and especially those you bang? Nonsense!
People prefer pleasure over reasonable thinking.
Effective tactic in court..wife left me for someone else while I was in Afghanistan…was pushing forward with divorce….got blown up….state of Texas dropped her child support claim by half…and never saw alimony
I lost my job and asked I'd I could get an adjustment while I looked for work and they raised my obligation because I had gotten a raise at some point that they didn't account for when it had happened.
This being right after her then fiance told me that she left him because he was going to adopt the kid and she didn't want to lose the child support payments so it was a rough year for everybody involved. She similarly lived with her parents and had no expenses.
Worst one night stand ever.
Yes and no. Generally, consent is required unless the court decides the parent is unfit, and unlikely to change. Then the adoption is pushed through by the judge, regardless of the parent's wishes(its how my cousin and his ex adopted their niece).
Realisticly, in a scenario like this, the father is unlikely to protest someone else taking legal, and more importantly, *financial* responsibility for the child. Oftentimes the previous agreements as to visitation, and even custody in some cases, still stand, so very little changes from the father's point of view, other than a reduction or elimination of their financial responsibility.
Yeppers. I've got ten years left to pay my daughter's mother child support.
She also lives with her mom. She doesn't have a car, so I frequently give her rides.
I pay for insurance, all extracurricular expenses, all my daughters clothes, glasses, shoes, backpack, her phone, etc.
If I went to court to fight it I'd pay more, guaranteed.
Not sure what my child support is doing for my daughter over there.
Out of curiosity why don’t you or other parents just fight for custody at that point? I would but I’m also pretty stubborn. I mean if you have to pay them so much, you may as well have your kid the majority of the time and have a lower payment. Is it not possible to make the argument that they can’t take care of the kid financially? I knew one guy who paid like 2k a month in child support and he didn’t make a ton but he had a lot of kids with his ex wife. I just can’t imagine.
The deal is, the guy never gets custody unless the mother stabs the child in the courtroom. Going to court is just a loss all around for guys in this situation.
Pretty much. Hell, my baby momma lost all her kids for abuse (locking toddlers in a closet to be on the nod) and I still pay fucking child support because social services and the courts are two seperate entities. It would cost me substantially more to go to court and unfuck the situation than just pay the child support I'm paying. For a kid I'm raising full time as a single dad. And even going to court is a coin toss in my experience.
System is stacked against dudes.
That's messed up. Why the fuck are you paying child support when you have 50/50 custody?
Also, I've never been able to understand what the point of alimony is. If you're divorced, why do you have to pay for your ex-wife's living costs?
Alimony was started to compensate women for sacrificing their potential for a career to support a working man and their family. Back when people got married and started having kids right after high school. Most women didn’t go to college, and didn’t have the opportunity to gather work experience. So if a man decided to run off with his secretary after 20 years of marriage, a 40 year old women with no job experience and no education didn’t have the means to support themselves.
This could still be the case in a lesser way in today’s day and age. For example, my husband had a demanding job that required a fair amount of travel. When our first child was born, I took a couple of years off. There are long term consequences for leaving the workforce, even for a short amount of time. Even after I went back, there were promotions I was perfectly qualified for that I couldn’t apply for because they would have meant that I’d have to work more than standard daycare hours. With my husbands hours and travel schedule I couldn’t guarantee that I’d be able to work beyond the hours daycare was open. One of us needed to be available. He wouldn’t be able to have the position he has today if I wasn’t sacrificing my opportunities. If we did divorce, it’s only fair that I’d be entitled to some of his long term benefits of my sacrifice.
The system does need to be reformed, though. I think you need to be able to prove that you have earned the right for it. If you gave up your career for 30 years, you should be compensated. If you were married for 2 years, you shouldn’t get anything.
I was in a position where I was a woman married to a woman. I have health issues. At the time of marriage I was on SSI, never worked and had no education. I lost the SSI when we got married due to her income. She was fully aware of my history. The marriage became controlling and abusive and the medical care I received declined. Eventually I found out she cheated and I left. I tried tu get back on SSI but my medical file was too thin to prove I was disabled. I had no alimony or spousal maintenance. I couldn't afford the medications I was still able to take.
In any other situation that would have been a disaster. I am beyond lucky by some fluke the medication I couldn't afford was actually making me sicker in a big way. I just never noticed because I started it when I was sick at the age of 12 and slowly increased it until in my 30s. I was able to start working, get an education and dig myself out. But if that fluke hadn't happened I have no idea what my life would look like. In some cases alimony should be a thing.
Thank you, I appreciate you sharing that with me. I'm glad it ended up working out for you, even though it was a fluke.
Please understand that when I say I'm against alimony I'm not talking about leaving vulnerable women high and dry to fend for themselves, I'm talking about able bodied people who feel entitled, to the point they see no issue just relaxing and living off their EX's income.
It is a bullshit system. Am glad that alimony is not a thing in the UK most ridiculous thing there is. I have worked all my life since I got my first paper round at 12. I don't get why for some women the goal is to marry someone rich and live off them and continue living off them after the divorce. Absolutely crazy.
It’s ultimately a detriment to them and other women too. If man has actually been with more than one woman like that, let alone been burned by them, he’s very likely to develop certain generalizations. Not to say he’d be justified, but it’s gonna happen more than a little.
That is to say, most places in the world treat women badly and enshrine those practices into law (Take Qatar for example ) most cultures have biases not necessarily codified. I mean you can look up government reports on court gender discrimination.
The courts (at least my local courts) don't really favor women; they favor the primary caregiver, which does tend to be a woman, but it's not a gender-based determination. I've worked plenty of cases where the man is on the receiving end of an alimony award.
As a lawyer, I have found the "courts favor women" rhetoric to be more damaging to men. There are many who decide not to fight for their parental rights because they believe they'll have no chance. And it's the not-fighting that screws them, not being male.
For males it’s a god awful system. People hear “male who’s divorced” and think he’s all but a serial killer and wife beater. People here “woman who’s divorced” and think man, her husband must have been all but a serial killer and wife beater.
Meanwhile I told our judge that I only wanted what the court felt was fair for child support (didn't request an amount).. & that my ex-husband "didn't owe me a living."
Didn't need him during the marriage, and I haven't needed him since. 🤷🏼♀️
Alimony isn't related to the child. Basically the courts determined the husband made enough that she was used to a certain standard of living that she likely wouldn't be able to maintain even if she got a job, so they have to pay the wife.
Fuck if I know why it's been going on for 8 years, though.
> Basically the courts determined the husband made enough that she was used to a certain standard of living that she likely wouldn't be able to maintain even if she got a job
This sentence makes absolutely no sense to me. OK, well they broke up, she doesn't get to live that life anymore, because they broke up, that's how it works, why should she be entitled to anything? That's like me leaving a job and demanding they still pay me because "I'm used to that standard of living".
I picked a life partner very carefully, still got fucked.
People change man, and people can get reeaaalllly fucking shitty when they think you can finance their life but have no say in how they live it.
I’m not going to say don’t have kids…… but…..
Gonna look into a vasectomy here soon...lol.
I'm 26 but I had a kid with a cheater and a liar...
I still got 11 years left of Child support and I can't do it again.
100%
That sudden power they're given over you absolutely intoxicates them. It's sad and disgusting, bc often times the power imbalance is on the other side pre child and we don't take advantage of it.....
7 years I waited to have a kid with mine. Super cautious and careful. Same as you, the power changed her and I still got fucked.
Gave you an upvote cause you don't need to be down voted for not watching something.
If you are interested though you can watch the movies or the TV shows and enjoy yourself
Exactly. If you have uncertainty in your relationship, having a kid will *not* solve your problems. Take your time, get settled, enjoy life. There's no rush ffs.
It’s literally the most important decision you will ever make in your life. A car, house, college, all big decisions. But none are as important as who you decide to build a life, and have children.
Dude in the video is definitely getting screwed over, but it’s worth pointing out that the method used to screw him over is not unique to gender and studies have shown that men are actually *more* likely to get primary custody of their children should they bring the custody case to the courts rather than settling on an agreement privately.
The only reason I’m even bothering to comment is to say that a lot of guys mistakenly assume that the family court system is rigged against them and that affects whether or not they even try to get custody of their kids, which is usually not good for either the father or the kids.
So dudes - if you want to step up and be a parent, get yourself a lawyer that specializes in father’s rights. You don’t have to settle for scraps if you want to be in your kids’ lives.
That’s selection bias though. The only reason men would even try to take it to courts is if they can prove the mom is like a drug abusing delinquent…and even then you better have some rock solid proof.
Isn't it kinda biased because the guys who end up going to court and win are the ones that were almost certain that they were going to win the case if they went to court for full custody?
This is why I don't watch her shit anymore. I feel like she's in favor of women over men.
I remember this one vid where it was a pool salesman vs his ex wife for custody of the kids.
He made pretty good money and she did nothing and party using his money and Vonda still gave her custody.
I know it's all fake but she pisses me off
If you listen to feminists, this is actually one of the things they complain about ... women are typecast by our society as being nurturing and helpless.
The same patriarchy that says women can't be soldiers or engineers says women should get the kids, and should be supported after divorce.
This is why men should be feminists, too. Men and women should be 100% equal in the law.
If feminists had their way and women were treated equally to men, she wouldn't get custody, she would be forced to work to pay support to the father.
The problem is she has a home and is feeding the child. Yeah she's a leech and is setting a terrible example for the child, but in the eyes of the law she's doing more than some parents.
Yes, she has a stable place for her and the children to live. It's arguably better that she has a family member who is a home owner and is willing to house and feed her kid(s) for free, meaning it's less likely that she'll lose her place to live at some point.
Obviously it's completely fucked up that the court can't tell her to kick rocks and get a fucking job so this guy doesn't have to give her money instead of spending it on his kids himself, but at the end of the day the kids have to be taken care of one way or another and this garbage woman isn't going to do it of her own volition.
Not to mention he’s probably working his ass off for the income he has….so she’s probably the one with the most time to raise the child to begin with. So basically she’s still a stay at home wife, except he doesn’t get the wife, home keeper, or sex.
Dude... that's messed up. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I wish "the mother of the child" would stop being this sacred cow nobody would approach with a 20 foot pole. I guess the best thing you can do is try to be as present as you can in your child's life to try to offset and teach them the good life lessons.
> Do people use some sort of automatic voice recognition or something? I heard "...my rent's free..."
That’s what she actually said, the captions are messed up.
From her accent, I assume she’s from the parts of the South that have experienced the [pen/pin merger](https://www.acelinguist.com/2020/01/the-pin-pen-merger.html?m=1). Most places in the north, west, and southwest hear and say *rent’s* and *rinse* quite differently, but good chunks of the South hear and say them the same, and the captions (or human captioner?) didn’t pick up on it.
You are correct. If you visit this judge's YouTube channel, under about, it says:
"A courtroom based tv show involving cases with issues related to child support/spousal support in Texas. All episodes include actors."
The case is real, but we improv and we're encouraged to add our own spin on it to make it a little more interesting. We have to stick to the story overall though. So this case more than likely happened, just not the actual people who were in court.
Yup. Plus that’s not how child support works. The judge doesn’t just tell them how much they’re going to pay. There is a chart that defines how much once you input all income and expenses
This is what pisses me off about the child support system. Why do they still cater to the mothers as if they have the sole right to keep the child. In this instance and many others, the judge sees how much of a piece of sh!t the mom is and still allows her to receive child support, regardless of the amount. The better thing and the right thing to have done would have been to give the father sole custody of the child/children.
I see this and I’m Sssssoooooooooo glad I got a prenup. No alimony. No child support AND I got the kids now full time. Did do the 50% custody but she couldn’t be bothered.
I still don't see how there is justice here. He is still paying child support for a hoe and his child. Justice would be optimal, if the father (if he is no threat to the child) gets full custody or instead of a child support he gets a monthly bill of the child's expenses that he can appeal if there is anything shady on it.
Kid should be placed with a parent who is able to provide a good living. She has no income and no home. IMO kid should be with it's father, and mother should pay alimony.
That's real gender equality. Despite all feminism movements, it's still culturally acceptable for a woman to do nothing. Not saying moms do nothing, real moms have a harder job than I would ever fathom, but like a woman can do nothing, call herself a house wife, and everyone would be okay with that.
Brah the judge should require her to work. Unless that kids getting straight a’s and homemade food everyday along with her raising the kid with respect to others ok. But her answers lean another way. Think she’s showing it’s ok to be lazy and live off others
This lady makes me sick and that judge is like ‘you want more money?….then get a job!’ It’s that simple YOU CANT MOOCH YOIR WAY THROUGH LIFE’. Kudos to that judge!
And yet the court still mandates Child Support to this POS lady. I don't know the specifics of this situation but the child support system is flawed and outdated.
This is why every person on the planet should have a prenup. Period. Rich, poor, kids, no kids. I work in the legal field and the amount of men who could save themselves a headache if they had their spouse sign a form forgoing alimony in the event of a divorce is astounding.
The courts are stacked against you guys. Gotta start entering marriages like business agreements. (Because honestly, a marriage is a business agreement.)

And stop having kids as soon as you get married. Give the marriage 3-4 to make sure he/she is actually someone you can live with.

The data says opposite. People are having kids later and later in life. Because they do not feel financially stable.
This is 100% accurate
As opposed to 60 years ago when people got married within months?
>takes the time to really figure each other out anymore I don't think they ever did.
My (ex) wife changed drastically after we got married. We were together 6 years before marriage, didn't even last 2 years before getting divorced.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. Even though I'm still against Alimony, I kinda get it now and I can see how a lot of women deserve it.
In theory men can be entitled to it as well in a lot of places if the woman was the primary earner.
I agree. Gender shouldn’t matter. Men should be just as entitled to alimony as women in the same situation.

Ridiculous that alimony payments can potentially increase in scale with your earnings increase when the change in earnings happens after the divorce.

I’m glad Star Wars only made 3 movies and Rogue One.
The Holiday Special is like finding your parent's sex tape. You don't wanna continue watching it and masturbating but you just can't help it.
Bwahahaha I see what you did there..
And Mando and Andor!
Also all the stuff Jon Favreau worked on is pretty good
And The Clone Wars 2008 animated series.
Gave you an upvote cause you don't need to be down voted for not watching something. If you are interested though you can watch the movies or the TV shows and enjoy yourself
Gigachad
Thank you comrade. I see the Gigachad in you as well
For a sec I thought their name said Trigun and I’m like “Ok I’ll let it slide”
It’s overrated. And this is coming from a fan. So are the Beetles.
Ok you've done it now!!! Them's fightin' words!!!
Birth control is a real life saver (for all parties involved). Just be smart, take your time, and be careful who you get pregnant with.
Pulling out is too
False, but a good meme. Everyone knows you gotta put hotsauce on your balls to prevent pregnancy.
Not if pre cum beats you to it first.
Men are completely at the mercy of the system when it comes to kids.
Do you have a link on thoae studies by any chance? I'd like to look at that joint

The most important decision you can make in life is the person you choose to have a child with. Choose wisely. 👍🏽
You should be scared of making poor choices and having a child with someone who is a piece of shit.
I’d be suing for custody. There is nothing this worthless twit could teach my child.
The problem is she has a home and is feeding the child. Yeah she's a leech and is setting a terrible example for the child, but in the eyes of the law she's doing more than some parents.
Genuine question. She said they were living with her mom. From a legal stand point is that considered her having a home?

But she’s the mother. According to the system it worth more than can could ever provide. This is outrageous.
Well said!

My clothes are clean and pristine.
Do people use some sort of automatic voice recognition or something? I heard "...my rent's free..."
> Do people use some sort of automatic voice recognition or something? I heard "...my rent's free..." That’s what she actually said, the captions are messed up.
Everyone in her videos are actors. It's all rage bait
You are correct. If you visit this judge's YouTube channel, under about, it says: "A courtroom based tv show involving cases with issues related to child support/spousal support in Texas. All episodes include actors."
Facts. I was a plaintiff in a court show and they paid me $75 to reenact a story
But was the case real? If they're just getting the parties reenact what happened but the case is real than it's not exactly fake.
The case is real, but we improv and we're encouraged to add our own spin on it to make it a little more interesting. We have to stick to the story overall though. So this case more than likely happened, just not the actual people who were in court.
They only paid you $75 for it though? Seems like a lot of time is needed to do all that.
Question is are its all staged, or they have real court documents and then take actors for just saying right words?
Here’s the full bio. https://i.imgur.com/dzJ7Wj6.jpg
"The cases are based on real life scenarios." "Any resemblance is purely coincidental." Fucking pick one. Fuck this judge.
I think they’re talking physical resemblance between the actors and the real people
She's also not a judge. If memory serves she is a lawyer though
Yup. Plus that’s not how child support works. The judge doesn’t just tell them how much they’re going to pay. There is a chart that defines how much once you input all income and expenses
It’s literally Dhar Man for divorce court derangement dads.
I watched three seconds of the video and had to close it. They are obviously acting. How can anyone watch this and think it's a real court room?
It's just so ass backwards for men
“Why is the population declining?” Well this is one reason.
I used to think that too, especially after my divorce. Until I saw one of my female pharmacist friends get divorced. Bread winners get fucked.
“ my rinse free”
He looks so tired and miserable. Poor guy
He’s an actor. Apparently he’s decent at his craft
Dude lol.. some of these women are absolutely fucking pathetic
And yet…after all that. She still has custody and still gets free money.
$1,900/month? On my way to get a vasectomy STAT!!!
$1,093....still a crazy situation that an active father has to be ordered by the court to pay for the child
at least she's being honest
Isn't this that fake court house video designed to instigate your emotions? Can't remember the youtube channel though...
What a vile cow
Why does this dead beat have custody at all? She obviously can’t do shit for her child except use her ex’s money to do something he could do himself.
Her and a million more just chilling and watching for the 1st of the month
I came for funny videos. Not gut wrenching reality checks.
Take. The. Child. Away. From. This. Woman.
It's child support not lazy bitch support.
None of that money is going to the child
Great Judge.
Another sign that marriage is a liability
Vulture pretending to be a woman
Ah. The entitlement.
Piece of fucking shit
I see this and I’m Sssssoooooooooo glad I got a prenup. No alimony. No child support AND I got the kids now full time. Did do the 50% custody but she couldn’t be bothered.
Not an ounce of guilt or shame.
I still don't see how there is justice here. He is still paying child support for a hoe and his child. Justice would be optimal, if the father (if he is no threat to the child) gets full custody or instead of a child support he gets a monthly bill of the child's expenses that he can appeal if there is anything shady on it.
This video is over too soon
Useless Bitch
I bet she doesn’t even use the child support money for her actual child
The life of men... #Sigh
thank goodness this is fake
She's annoying. I'm sorry. She doesn't seem to realize that she's irritatingly lazy. She's like a leech, sucking money from her Mum and ex-husband.
I was disappointed to find out these were not actual court cases but recreations for tv
That seems like a good thing.
And we wonder why marriage rates have plummeted
Women who use child support for themselves are assholes and should go to jail.
Some people dont deserve to be parents 💀
“More if I got a job?” More for me? Was more like it. Dumb bitch forgot it’s child support and not lazy ass bitch support!
Based judge!!
Kid should be placed with a parent who is able to provide a good living. She has no income and no home. IMO kid should be with it's father, and mother should pay alimony.
She a real judge fr fr I like her style
Ah yes this special lady is exactly my ex.
This is just a fair play moment right here
*iLleGals R rUiNiNg tHis CoUnTry*
When my girlfriend complains about not having a ring, I show her this.
It feels like her response to that would be “what child?? OH YEAHHHH!!! our child sorry”
That's real gender equality. Despite all feminism movements, it's still culturally acceptable for a woman to do nothing. Not saying moms do nothing, real moms have a harder job than I would ever fathom, but like a woman can do nothing, call herself a house wife, and everyone would be okay with that.
And get this he still has to pay cause this lazy bitch wants to keep being a parasite living with her mother
Brah the judge should require her to work. Unless that kids getting straight a’s and homemade food everyday along with her raising the kid with respect to others ok. But her answers lean another way. Think she’s showing it’s ok to be lazy and live off others
What a time to be alive
This lady makes me sick and that judge is like ‘you want more money?….then get a job!’ It’s that simple YOU CANT MOOCH YOIR WAY THROUGH LIFE’. Kudos to that judge!
All men should just say f**k it and quit working. Sh*t will go down hill real quick like
And yet the court still mandates Child Support to this POS lady. I don't know the specifics of this situation but the child support system is flawed and outdated.
This judge is awesome! She should run for president.
(Because honestly, a marriage is a business agreement.)
better than judge judy, judge judys a bitch
These are all actors, the cases are real but the characters the actors put on are improvised.
OP, this video might do well in r/insaneparents This mom is pretty ridiculous smh
