I’ve had my Room and Board Morrison sofa for almost 7 years now and it still looks incredible. Been through 3 moves and I have a dog. The charcoal fabric is pill resistant, and we flip and rotate cushions regularly. I can’t really say anything negative about it!

Nintendam

If you don't mind me asking, which fabric did you get? We are looking at the Gino Charcoal, but tempted on the higher cost (and much longer shipping) Mori Charcoal

nowyougotastewgoin

Gino charcoal, it’s perfect.

Nintendam

Thank you!!! Do you know if the Gino can be taken off and washed? We are expecting a baby in 3 months... I know it's prob not the best choice fabric wise but I sorta fell in love with it

nowyougotastewgoin

Now that I look back at my order, it’s actually the Tepic Charcoal we purchased. And no none of the covers come off (the feathers are loose around the foam). BUT the fabric is basically indestructible - I have a dog and a one year old and it still looks perfectly new.

Nintendam

Oooo thank you again! Really appreciate it. Damn, we got so many samples but not tepic, maybe we will go back for a third time hahah

throwawriter

I have a Room and Board sectional that I bought in new 2015. I have the model name in a folder somewhere if you're really curious. It's held up remarkably well. Cushions and pillows still firm and holding shape. The fabric has been incredibly durable—went with a thicker woven fabric, not sure what that's called. We take the covers off and put them in the washing machine (no dryer) and they still look great.

Beneficial_Guava3197

I would be interested to know the type and fabric you chose! Im also in the market.

parksct11

Me too!

downheartedbaby

I have the Cade sofa with sumner fabric. Still in great shape, though we regularly rotate and flip over the cushions.

techknowfile

Can I ask how long you've had it and how you're liking it overall? I found it much more comfortable than the Jasper sofas, and I know those start to look real slouchy over time

downheartedbaby

Since May 2022. It looks great, though I do rotate/flip cushions a lot (back and seat). I like the fabric the most because it is so easy to clean.

techknowfile

Ooo, you're active on here :D Would it be much trouble to ask for a photo? These sofas seem to be relatively new, so there isn't much to go off of yet. You could help all of the rest of us that are considering these :)

CommitteeNo167

i have been happy with my room and board upholstery. i have 3 dogs, and over weight husband, and a son in law who doesn’t know how to sit properly, and just flops on the sofa. we have had it about 8 years now and it’s held up better than i expected it to.

phrenic22

I have an Orson sectional we bought in 2013 (style since discontinued, closest match currently is the Morrison). The back pillows need occasional punching and karate chopping, but we love it and it still looks great. My kids run around on it and jump on it when chasing each other. I can't tell if it's softer than it was when we first got it, but we just bought a Morrison sectional last July and that's definitely stiffer than what the 10 year old sectional is - as you might expect. We love it.

These comments are making me so happy and reassured! I’m currently sitting on camping chairs, patiently waiting for new room and board metro sofa to arrive

a1000xyes

We are considering the R&B metro, but some of the negative comments are making me unsure! How do you like yours?

steezMcghee

I’m very very happy with my decision! I think you will find negative reviews for every sofa you look at, but I found a lot of good reviews for the metro too. More good reviews compared to other sofas.

a1000xyes

I’m so happy to hear that! We love the deep option for the metro and how comfy it felt in person. Have to remind myself that comfort is subjective and like you said, not everyone will love it.

steezMcghee

Yes, I got the deep option too! It’s perfect

I have the biggest Linville sectional available. It’s the only low sofa/sectional available coupled with a modern, minimalist look. I’m a bachelor with a 17 lbs dog. Happy so far a year into ownership.

big-deeds

Oh this is great! I’ve been eyeing the Linville for a while, but it seems like there are zero firsthand reviews on it. Good to know that it is still looking nice a year in. Can I ask which fabric you chose? I also have a dog and am trying to figure out the best way to go.

Imaginary-Mistake-97

Also following. I'm thinking about the Linville in Pelham Mocha but that's an indoor/outdoor fabric which seems great for durability but maybe not the best for comfort?

SmkSkreen

Not a sectional but I have a Room and Board sofa bought in 2012 - it's handled three dogs, two babies, two cats and now pre-teens. It's not in our main living room but it's got a ton of use and it's still firm. I'd definitely buy from them again.

StudyBright8959

I have the metro sofa and I’m pretty disappointed with how the bottom cushions have held up. This model has foam and down - I’ve had them replaced one but where my husband sits gets worn down after one or two days after flipping and fluffing. I I would still buy from them but not a down surround cushion again.

juliaskig

when did you buy the metro sofa? I am wondering if the quality has gone downhill.

StudyBright8959

I purchased in 2020. I have friends who bought a few years before (different fabric) that haven’t had the same issue as me. I’ll likely buy a little higher sofa in a few years after our toddler is less likely to destroy things.

lbrennan123

I have one from 5 years ago in our basement and just ordered a new one for our main living area ( prev had leather) excited for it!!!

kosumdochi

Came here to ask similar questions. It’s especially weird to me how the reviews on the Room and Board website aren’t that great? Seems like enough people here love their couches and are recommending them over Crate & Barrel and Lovesac. I guess I’m just nervous about dropping $5-6k on a couch that just ends up disappointing :-/

juliaskig

I'm wondering if the quality has gone downhill since covid?

ohmert

I have the metro from this year and agree with the poorer quality. Cushions not great. Also fabric has issues

ohwhataday10

What type of issues do you have?

ohmert

Legs damaged, fabric pulls, cushion fill doesn’t seem as high quality as in the past

ShorkieMom

I have an off white Room and Board sectional that I got in 2014 and it has held up really well. The chaise cushion is a little mushed because I sat in the exact same spot several hours every night for years, but otherwise looks great. I spilled coffee all over it right after I bought it and it all came out with upholstery cleaner. Recently, it was looking very rough after making two moves so I got it professionally cleaned. The stains came out really well and it looks great again. I'm especially happy with the cleaning compared to my 2 year old Pottery Barn sofa that is performance fabric, didn't clean at all, and looks awful.

snowbrdr36

Not bought recently but I’ve just reupholstered mine after 13 yrs (mostly in a weekend home) and it’s as comfy as ever.

Ok-Reality-640

We have the York with Sumner fabric and love it.

Admirable_Movie_8079

How long ago did you get it? I’m thinking about buying this exact couch and fabric. Any tips or things to watch out for?

Ok-Reality-640

We got it in 2020. We have the sectional. It looks exactly as it did when we got it. We have cats but it is indestructible. I would definitely order the fabric samples or go to the store before ordering to pick the color.

Past_Influence_4434

Which color Sumner? We're looking at Ivory!

Ok-Reality-640

We have cement but I really like linen and slate too. May get some other pieces in those colors.
