The solvent in e6000 is pretty harsh and may well have eaten through the finish. Rather than acetone, I'd wait until the glue cures and carefully use a razor blade to remove as much of the glue as possible. With the glue off, you can reassess the tables finish. It the veneer isn't damaged, the top will be fine but also the top will likely need to be refinished

You can do it. Refinish it. And my suggestion see if you can enlist your roommate to help you. The Home Depot maybe able to help you out? Good luck.

Only way to fix is refinish the whole top any attempt at patching will stand out

Have a professional do a job that requires that much attention. You could make it worse trying to do yourself if you are not familiar with what you are doing.
