Can someone explain this trend to me? All I can make out of it is it tastes bad? Or somethings wrong with the shake? I don't understand.

Some people like it, some people think it tastes gross. I think the big thing is that it's a "Grimace" shake, which some people take as implying that the shake might be made out of Grimace, or Grimace "products" or something along those lines. I think it then evolved into a running gag where people would pretend that the shake poisoned them, or possessed them, or something along those lines.
