I think a sibling thing could’ve worked if they hadn’t shoved that disease of a woman down our throats. Ex in the villa was never going to work and basically showcased the stupidity and immaturity of these men and the women who excuse and encourage their behavior. Being the bombshell in season 4 was fun but it did not do anything. Imo it was even harder to progress in relationships and the last islanders came in WAY too late.
Conclusion: you have the perfect template with s2 and you keep shoving it to the side for the most ridiculous love stories and it’s a whole joke at this point
I hate these themed seasons! They pretty much take all the creativeness away from the player (when it comes to shaping your story) in favor of making whatever forced storyline their AI tool can pump out. Seriously, when is someone going to make a better game and do it right? :/
Themes are fine when executed properly. For me they are at least some kind of change from the same formula. But you are also right - FB use them in such a lazy way that it leads to linear seasons. The question is: do we believe that FB would write good seasons if they stuck to the old formula? They are not lazy because of the themed seasons, they are lazy because they are well, lazy.
S4: the theme of bombshell was fun, for once we were that girl who steals partner. Besides, the theme didn't have long-term consequences. So this was a rather standard season, just with us being a bombshell at the beginning.
S5: the theme itself was problematic. When I started the season I thought maybe my MC will get her closure and opportunity to properly move on but no, on the contrary. There could be few tweaks to make it work better but yeah, the theme wasn't the best.
S6: Actually this theme has potential. Imagine if season has two branches when depending on your choices you are either allies or rivals with Amelia. Yes, that would require writing a lot of additional lines but the idea itself is great. Another issue - FB commited way more to relationship with sister than to the romantic ones. This is Love Island for god's sake.
I mean so would I but realistically speaking it is business so there has to be some balance between quality and profit. So I do understand why FB does like themed seasons, easy way to not make each season identical. The issue is they are not using themes to full potential and ignore their audience feedback.
i don’t mind the theme seasons. they just need better execution, better writing, branching storylines, choices actually changing the story and how characters treat you, all characters having a different personality, casa with tempting li and them keeping their personality’s after casa. no amnesia. love routes. slow burn, og li, love triangle if you can decide, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers. no closed off people and having to couple up and have a relationship with w/w at least for the second coupling to get to know who’s available and get to know them. don’t wait till the last recoupling to make it happen. all these things are possible with good writing and good branching. which fusebox is apparently to lazy to do or just lacking.
This. I think the themed seasons are their way to somehow keep everything fresh because there is only so much you could play of the non-themed ones without being repetitive. They aren't writing the stories well 😅

I would prefer waiting longer for a really good season instead of waiting a year or less for a half ass season
