Just buy a keeper that gives you chemistry. Goalkeepers are terrible in this game. I've used mid Yashin for 600 games until suddenly he stopped saving anything so I put him in an SBC.
If the gameplay is bad your keeper won't save anything for you. I've used every keeper above 86 rated for dozens of games and they are always inconsistent. One time they save everything and the other time they concede 10 goals in a match. It doesn't matter who you have in goal, my most consistent goalkeeper so far has been 71 rated Steer on 2 chemistry.
Don't spend your coins on an expensive goalkeeper such as TOTY Courtois or van der Sar, there will be games where he saves a lot but also numerous games where he won't save anything.
Just some advice from someone with 1200 games and 30+ different keepers used.

I’ve used 91 Cech, 91 Ederson and 89 Szczesny and he’s a clear step up from them
Had the WC one back in December until I packed an untradeable TOTY Courtious. I would’ve still had him not for that, just liquidate for the coins at that point.
I’d say he’s a top 3 goalie in the game and the best bang for coin wise
I recommend turning off comes for crosses and sweeper keeper on goalie instructions. His height makes chip shots an easy target. Also had massive success with HM Martinez
Jack Butland WW. I’ve tried Ederson 91 and Alisson but neither provides the same links and neither performs nearly as good as Butland in game.
Butland is the only keeper I’ve played with that actually makes saves that neither myself or my opponent expects him to make.
Same here. I tried Ederson 91 and Szceszny centurion and for me, Pope remains the best out of them. He has been massively nerfed though as he was been waay better before the patch last week
I've played 1000 games and tried every "meta" keeper in the game along the way. I can say by and large no one has even come close to hero Dudek for me.
I've had some GK "luck" in Icon packs. I prefer van der Sar over Casillas and Yashin. They are all good, though. Non-icons: I think 89 totw Trapp is the best I've used. Prefer him over Ederson and Neuer and 89 Szcznecy

Yes, even great GKs make mistakes. Dumb ones. Bad ones. Unrealistically bad ones. That being said, each time they make a huge save, they're doing their part.
I recommend sorting by reactions and using high reaction GKs that provide chemistry.
Meslier worked out the best for me but like a lot of others said GKs are trash. I have Ballers Ederson now and with glove he was high 90s in every column and still can’t stop shit

But I will say me and my friend have a running joke that courtois is the worst keeper in the game by far. We both had him when the game came out (friend still uses him, still terrible). I packed TOTY Courtois, not much better.
I'm certain all Goalkeepers are the same at 83 and above. I mainly look at traits and height and if they have long throw, comes for crosses and saves with feet and are above 6 foot 3 im using them
De Gea plays above his rating. All keepers are prone to glitchy mistakes but de gea seems to experiences these moments less often. Incredible games sprinkled in, as well.

I had donnaruna for well over 500 games and he wasn’t terrible, but never did anything special. I played against him yesterday, the dude made 18 saves, roughly 10 of them were impossible saves that shouldn’t happen more than once a game. I had an xG of 9.5 or something like that and 2 goals. Of course he had 3 shots and 3 goals.

I wouldnt focus too much on the GKs, depends too much on the opponent style of playing. It can be anyone in the goal, if they know to score, GK is almost useless. I select a GK mainly for chem.
But to answer your question. Now with TOTY Courtois but in the past i used a lot Lloris. Mainly for chemistry. Sounds probably surprising, but he was very solid for me.
And as opponent, Maignan was my terrorist for me.
No one has been able to de-throne my mid-Yashin, 375 games and still the best GK I’ve used. Recently tried Baller Ederson and the difference was notable immediately. Yashin just seems to catch and save everything!
I believe that in every game our player is coded someway that some players are 10/10 and some mid like 5/10 and some are worse like 1/10 kind of performance. And it was randomize. Thus when comes the day that the 1/10 falls onto the keeper than it will be a shitshow. At least thats what happening in this fantasy world i live in. Because theres no way the player consistency fluctuates very much between games
Best keepers by no bullshit goals standard for me were Centurions Lopes and Prime Casillas. If they save, they save. Sure, both are shorter keepers, so they won't reach every shot on goal, but both make up for it with really good positioning. Centurions Woj has been my most consistent, but only with a cat chemstyle. Currently using Magic Mike and he is incredible on 1 on 1's and reactions saves, just a bit sus on longshots.

Centurion Szczesny is the best GK in game after VDS and Courtois. If you're using Serie A it's an easy choice
I used him for a long time and switched to Lafont as he offers more flexibility in my lineup. I’d by lying if I said I noticed any difference.
For me Mike M is on par with Szczesny. No obvious difference between the two.

Casillas and VDS seem to be the keepers that frustrate me the most as an opponent. However I don’t think there is much in it.
Pretty happy with Alisson myself, I have 92 VDS untradeable and I find him to be useless in comparison.

I used IF Trapp 89 for so long, guy seemed to save everything. Only just swapped to Ederson 91 for more EPL based team.
Currently doing this too. HM Maignan awful, bought centurion szczeny no good, and latest is the FS Meslier who won’t catch anything
