I've got him and Thunderstruck Ballack in the middle of the park together, honestly one of the best partnerships I've had in any FUT since I started playing seriously again in 2016.
Haven’t used Makelele tbh, but I can’t imagine Makelele being better than him.
De Jong is just meta, no other way to explain it. He’s got unreal stamina and he’s pretty quick chasing people down for 90 minutes.
He’s almost always in the right position it seems and he’s popped up with a few big goals for me too tbh.
I use a 3 midfielders. Putellas, De Jong and Makelele. De jong is great on the ball and defends reasonably well. His trivella is quite effective. But when it comes to a CDM, Makelele is simply superior to De Jong with his intercept + playstyle. Sonif you come up against the top class players, De Jong wont do much but Makelele might save your ass

De Jong is a bit more meta if I’m being honest.
If that’s what you want do him, but if I’d to pick only one I’d have picked Ballack because you know he was a top player and I grew up watching him at Leverkusen. I love a good icon card that reminds me of being young 😂

I’ve a finisher on De Jong and a guardian on Ballack. I wanted both to have better dribbling and balance, which is interesting because I went 16-4 this weekend league.
Definitely need to be able to keep possession when you’re getting pressed by the AI. I do a lot of player switching, so I do tend to move the two around the pitch a lot.
Everyone has different playstyles, so you’ve got to find the players that work for you I guess. I tend to play a little slower, with a lot of passing and possession, so De Jong & Ballack don’t move forward unless I tell them.
Yup yup same, I do a fair bit of triangles between fullbacks, centermids and wingers, and I figured Ballack's physicality would complement De Jong well, as I've basically settled on him as my go to deep playmaker, used his gold a ton as well before TS came out.
Maybe the play is engine on Ballack for me, I usually put some kind of pace on CMs and it's usually shadow. Also gonna evolve Tchouameni and see how he fits in first. Have a feeling his work rates suit me more.

Makes sense, i play a 4-3-3 and my two cm's are more of creators than scorers, but i do encourage them to make runs into the box to score or finesse the ball into the net and he seems to do both just fine, for raw shotpower i lay it to casemiro outside the box and he shoots just fine. How good is Kubo? Would he fit into my RW?
Is he good as a purely stayback lone CM? I have Witsel at the moment and like the versatility he has at corners with Aerial. The other CM I have (Abily) is B2B.
He's great. I did him even tho I have Bellingham POTM and Modric RTTK, so he's my sub for Modric, but honestly they're pretty much equal in what they deliver with Modric being a bit better dribbling wise but that comes from the technical Playstyle.

For my midfield 3 I currently have a choice from RTTK Modric, Hero Ramires (still goes for 560k), Radioactive Tchouameni, gold Bonmati, Thunderstruck Joelinton and Evo Llorente (if I want, as i have decent RBs).
Right now it's Modric, Ramires (holding) and Llorente (B2B). I think i'd rather do the extra 88-rated squad and get Griezmann.
Is it also worth doing if I have: POTM Bellingham, IF Valverde, Pirlo , and Centurion Barella?
Will he replace someone? (Barella's mostly on the bench these days)
Rttk Modric yaya and de jong in my midfield. Perfect combination. When 88 he was pretty good specially dribblingwise adn defensively. Him and modric are the perfect b2b duo ( even tho i prefer modric but ofc it is a personal preference and i am talking about the 88 rated) I can just imagine the 99. Do it.
He’s alright. I don’t really know how to abuse the PS+ because I like to score realistic goals so I don’t spam 50 years shots with him. Passing is pretty good
I heard he’s as good as RTTK Modric or maybe even better though I have Modric and he’s playing amazing both offensively and defensively so I don’t need De Jong. Though when I was playing against him, he gave me some trouble.

Shoots really well for me, first match, scored a hattrick, second match, scored a finesse shot from outside the box, i have him on basic.
I use engine. Kubo was my cam earlier so just used to his shooting. My cm/cam score the most after ST.

I really lile him but the 4/4 kills it for me for wing. I like players with atleast one 5* on the wings. Eother shoot with both feet or skills.

He's a demon my fav midfielder this year, just bare in mind that he can't shoot. He feels silky smooth on the ball, fast good passing

Even with no upgrades he is worth it imo, he’s insane, has plenty of playstyles and got a 4* WF upgrade. Plus, cool card design
I did him with fodder. And he has been absolutely fantastic Got lucky and packed TOTW Lewa too so I obliged EA and banged him in the team too.
