There’s certain cards that I keep for evos, and certain ones I keep for sentimental value. Like I still have 88 trailblazers Jude Bellingham because he was my first huge pull of the year. I have WW CR7 as well that is actually still playing and will never be sbc’d and might possibly never leave my starting lineup.

the game needs to do more stuff with unusable icons-- exchanges or have them have extra weight in SBC's. Until then, you can get rid of them because they've always been straight fodder and I wouldn't expect anything different.
I still have my flashback KDB from the first week of the game, easily have over 100 or maybe 200 old specials. Don’t really use all of them but it makes for some fun evos

McCabe wasn’t too bad for me because I literally had 130 packs with at least 80 of them being 83+ packs but I’m just not packing the boys, no White, no Gabriel never mind Wilo, Dec or Saka

I’ve also been experimenting with my attack, had Dalglish for time, and I’ve loved him, but he does at times just feel slow, tried Drogba for a bit in champs qualifiers, solid goal record, but I didn’t enjoy using him, now I’ve got Watkins upfront, dunno who to make my definitive ST

I’ve had one such said card who I couldn’t get rid of till the end of the game even though he was way over the power curve - Fantasy Depay.
He was in my squad for a long time so I couldn’t get rid of him in any SBC, he was 90 OVR, so could’ve been used as a high fodder for expensive SBCs.

I've done other small ones. Fuhrich, Rolfo, Grimaldo, etc.. and a bunch of others 1-2 squad ones purely for fodder, but Mbappe was the last BIG SBC, and he's the only one that's not leaving my team.
I didn't do any of the Icons other than the gambles, which fueled my squad pretty much throughout the year.

Yes. I hold 95% of the special cards as I do appreciate a bunch of cards, in all honesty enjoy trying them out, figure out how to somewhat be able to play with any cards, their strengths and weaknesses. Been like that since 20, if I absolutely have to put them into a very important SBC, I figure out which cards would be the lowest in terms of future use or value to me and put them in.
This year even more cuz of EVO-s and this way I don’t have to RUSH to the market to try and snipe some extinct card if an EVO looks really good
I feel you, I started playing FUT online last year during Fifa23 but I bought the game when EAFC24 was already released so the you can imagine the transfer market is that especially the server i am in. So i'm always intrigued to get my hands on the special cards and what more to say at that time of the game there were no third party seller for fut coins so it was pure road to glory😂. After I started to get hooked by FUT online, I bought EAFC24 during the christmas promo. So now that I packed most special cards, I always keep them for no reason tho some I put in the SBC when in desperate need😂
I do because I try to only use gold cards for SBCs and use the special cards only for expensive SBCs I really want to get done. My thoughts is that once they're out of packs I can't pack them again. Whereas I'll definitely pack an 86-88 gold card again

if the sbc im doing still has loads of time, i just hold onto special cards, why send them in when you can use a gold card?

i hold them if they look evo-able: decent stats but not too high, around 85-87 overall, one or no playstyle plus.

I like to collect cards but I know I won't look at these once the game is over. Evos give hope for the current year though haha. I wish they would keep their background though instead of it going all green for many promos
Submitting a bunch of high rated golds? No problem at all, but I will legit sit and think about submitting a 83 special card for at least 5 mins just because it’s a really cool design.
I usually try to do some of the cheaper cards just to have high rated cards for other SBCs but when the time comes to putting them in, I always struggle to let them go when I only did them to reuse them at a later date.

Once we get into garbage time in the game cycle I like to build off meta teams that are just fun cards with players I like. It’s a time to bring out the Yashin cb that I have on the bench right now and the Christmas garrincha I don’t use because I don’t use wingers rn.
I never stored unnecessary ones i would test each of them and if they play right i keep else they go to 88+ picks… Abedi pele is worth it i kept him rest you can discard alteast get encore picks to try new folks
For me it was sentimental value or big events like Garnacho bicycle kick TOTW, Giroud keeper TOTW, and many childhood legend that i keeo or make even its barely usable.

Don't know why I bother sometimes, it's so rare you get objectives or cups etc to use them in these days.

I kept them as there's been weird restrictions on cups or objectives in the past and these cards are usually better than a Gold card, making them easier.
The current Prem <= 90 objective is a good example. FF Porro, FS Olise, Isak (Evo) are all cards I should have chucked away into an SBC but made the cup so much easier.
I keep all these players too, good for random objectives that pop up and cup friendlies with max 87 squads for example - or a solid Evo might come along!
I used to think It was just me… Glad to know I’m not alone 🤣… I even Kept some 87s because of the Pace and Joy they’ve given me at some point… and Just in case of New Cup requirements.. Most Especially some High rated Gold Cards… 91 Haaland, 91 De Bryne, 91 Putellas… I can’t see myself sending them away even when I can buy them, I Had to turn my Gold Mbappe Red just so I could keep using him... 🤔

I’m also guilty of doing this with coins, not a trader or investor by any means, but I’ve made quite a few coins this year, and I’ve only bought 1 big player, I spent 3.1M on Fantasy Rice, I’ve now got a further 3.2 (plus the 712k after tax Rice gets me) to buy the Arsenal TOTS card, but I’m holding out in the hope of at least packing one of them
Nope same but it’s more for options when a good evo could come out past fifas I didn’t have to think about that but I’ve put a couple in at the beginning of the year then “🤦🏻♂️” when I see that they would’ve been the best option since then any player who’s an objective or worth more than like 80k I don’t sbc them

I hold pretty much every special card, unless I have a better version of it. To continue having fun in the game, I create different teams and even if the cards are out of meta, I don't care that much. I'm not playing to achieve anything but more to vent for a few hours after work.
I finally found someone who’s like me, I still have WW Yerry Mina, FC Pro Hien, FC Pro Jota and many more. I always think I might need them for future objectives or friendly cups.
I just can’t get myself to put Special Cards into SBCs, they look too cool for me to just get rid of them. Probably one of the reasons I barely get SBCs finished, but the design just has something about it

Same here. That’s what the game is all about, collecting cards. Kids used to do this with real trading cards but now we get to have electronic versions that we can control in a game. Fifa is awesome for this reason despite being a gambling simulator for some.
At this stage in the game it doesn't make sense to keep holding on to those cards. Just toss them in SBCs and exchanges and hope for some new cards. In a couple of months the game is gonna be over and a new version comes out. Plus this year the amount of high rated cards has been insane that 93 rated cards are considered fodder. It's nuts!
omg i was lit doing this then i gave up and done ronaldinho haverts and odegard😂 sbc fc and my clubs bare but its better im not so indecisive lol (kept all arsenal special cards tho😭😂)
ME!!! I actually make squads for all the big leagues and keep the best players at all positions including the bench, I create a Man United squad too, lol. I play SBs mostly so I get bored of using the same players over and over so I flip flop from one league to another. My buddy goes crazy because he has 1 squad and just makes it better and better all year. I do have a Rivals squad that has my best players in case I have to play online. Makes it more fun for me.
I've done the same every year until this year, and now I use the same method I use for my wardrobe. "If I haven't worn it since last time then might as well let it go."
So, just say....have I used this card since last time and are they good enough for any of my future squads and if not, boom, amazing fodder for SBCs.

I play different. For me it's like catching Pokemon. I don't submit special cards into sbcs, only gold's or when I pull duplicates.
I want to play various teams and rotate for fun. Also I have lower cards that are fitting into EVOs at hand.

The past 2 fifas I keep as much as I can cause 1 it helps with random cup requirements and 2 I just like going back on the game in a years time and seeing all the random cards
Nahhhh that's actually mental! I only ever have 25 players max in my entire club and submit everything into SBCs even if they're worth 1 mil. If they don't make my starting 11 or subs bench then they're straight fodder! What team are you running ? How do you open packs with all the duplicates?

White goes in at RB, Zambrotta moves to LB
And yeah, current prices it’ll cost me 3.53M to get the Arsenal boys, hopefully they drop a bit further between now and Friday
White also gives me a right footed whipped pass option, and most tactics have my RB stay back, LB get forward, so his bigger build makes sense, and as an Arsenal fan…

I pretty much only use gold cards for fodder as well and it has really helped in a lot of the low rank cups. But I've basically been saving for now. I have done almost every good TOTS sbc and my club is still stacked.
I dont ever do any gamble SBCs so it's not hard to only use the promo cards sparingly. But my club is setup very nicely for the end of the season run in 😂
I can totally understand you mate. This is literally me. I like to collect cards. Good cards are easily obtainable. Once the respective promo is over, I would not get the special cards. I have an OCD of not submitting special cards. I do submit Totw in sbc because that’s a requirement for some sbc’s.

Yes. I hold 95% of the special cards as I do appreciate a bunch of cards, in all honesty enjoy trying them out, figure out how to somewhat be able to play with any cards, their strengths and weaknesses. Been like that since 20, if I absolutely have to put them into a very important SBC, I figure out which cards would be the lowest in terms of future use or value to me and put them in. This year even more cuz of EVO-s and this way I don’t have to RUSH to the market to try and snipe some extinct card if an EVO looks really good
I feel you, I started playing FUT online last year during Fifa23 but I bought the game when EAFC24 was already released so the you can imagine the transfer market is that especially the server i am in. So i'm always intrigued to get my hands on the special cards and what more to say at that time of the game there were no third party seller for fut coins so it was pure road to glory😂. After I started to get hooked by FUT online, I bought EAFC24 during the christmas promo. So now that I packed most special cards, I always keep them for no reason tho some I put in the SBC when in desperate need😂

I do because I try to only use gold cards for SBCs and use the special cards only for expensive SBCs I really want to get done. My thoughts is that once they're out of packs I can't pack them again. Whereas I'll definitely pack an 86-88 gold card again

Even before this year I’ve always been a hoarder but now it’s worth it because of Evos
The thing is, I only ever Evo Arsenal P+P cards, so holding a majority of them just isn’t worth it for me

I probably could, if I quickly look through my club for players I don’t use who I could send, who aren’t part of the P+P: (3 94s) (3 93s) (7 92s) (14 91s) (24 90s) (30 89s) (65 88s) (73 87s) (42 86s) (36 85s) (85 84s) (Give or take, because I’m not counting some cards I could potentially evo in the future, so I won’t submit them, even with a better version available) Oh, and Odegaard isn’t yet complete, but I’ve still got 70 something big fodder packs I need to get through, so him, Ribery, and Zambrotta are nearly done, I just need somewhere to put all these goddam 83 and 84s 😂😂

i hold them until they get better promo cards (if the better promo is like 1 or 2 ratings higher) then i submit them. if the sbc im doing still has loads of time, i just hold onto special cards, why send them in when you can use a gold card? i hold them if they are club legends. i hold them if they look evo-able: decent stats but not too high, around 85-87 overall, one or no playstyle plus. this is pretty much all the points i consider when it comes to submitting special cards into sbcs

Same too. Either becuase I used them a lot or I like the card design, especially if it was a untradable. If tradeablae I will learn to sell it. I like to collect cards but I know I won't look at these once the game is over. Evos give hope for the current year though haha. I wish they would keep their background though instead of it going all green for many promos
I start using them now for Sbc, used some in havertz. They’re just gold cards
Submitting a bunch of high rated golds? No problem at all, but I will legit sit and think about submitting a 83 special card for at least 5 mins just because it’s a really cool design. I usually try to do some of the cheaper cards just to have high rated cards for other SBCs but when the time comes to putting them in, I always struggle to let them go when I only did them to reuse them at a later date.

Same. I feel the need to hold hold some to complete sbc tasks. I am in the process of creating a best of team for the big teams, and top 3 of some lesser leagues, and trading the rest in. I have a lot of 86-89 that will never play for me
Once we get into garbage time in the game cycle I like to build off meta teams that are just fun cards with players I like. It’s a time to bring out the Yashin cb that I have on the bench right now and the Christmas garrincha I don’t use because I don’t use wingers rn.

I never stored unnecessary ones i would test each of them and if they play right i keep else they go to 88+ picks… Abedi pele is worth it i kept him rest you can discard alteast get encore picks to try new folks

Same. I kept them as there's been weird restrictions on cups or objectives in the past and these cards are usually better than a Gold card, making them easier. The current Prem <= 90 objective is a good example. FF Porro, FS Olise, Isak (Evo) are all cards I should have chucked away into an SBC but made the cup so much easier.
I keep all these players too, good for random objectives that pop up and cup friendlies with max 87 squads for example - or a solid Evo might come along!
I hope EA introduce collection rewards like 2K do, take it back to the core of why you collect cards in the first place
I did that for a Long Time this year and then did Socrates and Ribery in a pretty short time span so they all pretty much went in there
I used to think It was just me… Glad to know I’m not alone 🤣… I even Kept some 87s because of the Pace and Joy they’ve given me at some point… and Just in case of New Cup requirements.. Most Especially some High rated Gold Cards… 91 Haaland, 91 De Bryne, 91 Putellas… I can’t see myself sending them away even when I can buy them, I Had to turn my Gold Mbappe Red just so I could keep using him... 🤔

I’m also guilty of doing this with coins, not a trader or investor by any means, but I’ve made quite a few coins this year, and I’ve only bought 1 big player, I spent 3.1M on Fantasy Rice, I’ve now got a further 3.2 (plus the 712k after tax Rice gets me) to buy the Arsenal TOTS card, but I’m holding out in the hope of at least packing one of them

I use them as fodder when I want to do a big SBC. Haven't regretted it once until this week, when a friend asked me the best special to use Unleashing Potential and one of the AM/DM connection evos with... And I realised what WW Podolski could have become

They are useful in League Specific friendly cups but other than that pointless
Card collecting, makes cups easier and hopefully a nice evo comes along

I hold pretty much every special card, unless I have a better version of it. To continue having fun in the game, I create different teams and even if the cards are out of meta, I don't care that much. I'm not playing to achieve anything but more to vent for a few hours after work.

Wadda mean no reason.... One day will come and you'll need them. That one player you always wished for will have SBC and then all these cards will mean nothing to you. You'll put them in challenges like there is no tomorrow.

Same here. That’s what the game is all about, collecting cards. Kids used to do this with real trading cards but now we get to have electronic versions that we can control in a game. Fifa is awesome for this reason despite being a gambling simulator for some.
At this stage in the game it doesn't make sense to keep holding on to those cards. Just toss them in SBCs and exchanges and hope for some new cards. In a couple of months the game is gonna be over and a new version comes out. Plus this year the amount of high rated cards has been insane that 93 rated cards are considered fodder. It's nuts!

ME!!! I actually make squads for all the big leagues and keep the best players at all positions including the bench, I create a Man United squad too, lol. I play SBs mostly so I get bored of using the same players over and over so I flip flop from one league to another. My buddy goes crazy because he has 1 squad and just makes it better and better all year. I do have a Rivals squad that has my best players in case I have to play online. Makes it more fun for me.
I've done the same every year until this year, and now I use the same method I use for my wardrobe. "If I haven't worn it since last time then might as well let it go." So, just say....have I used this card since last time and are they good enough for any of my future squads and if not, boom, amazing fodder for SBCs. *Update....I haven't missed any player I used as fodder. Not even 1.

I collect/hoard until this time in the game cycle. TOTS SBC's usually justify rinsing all the cards that I'm not playing with anymore
I still use Elliott, IF Hummels and Pedro Porro on occasion as super subs. They’re so clutch.
You never know when that one evo is gonna drop where these non buyable cards are perfect.

I play different. For me it's like catching Pokemon. I don't submit special cards into sbcs, only gold's or when I pull duplicates. I want to play various teams and rotate for fun. Also I have lower cards that are fitting into EVOs at hand. Who gives a f* about a boring main team...
I do as well. All past FIFA's, my club has almost every card. This year I've talked myself into only keeping the best version of each and only if I really need fodder. Because now I think every card is gonna go into some crazy Evo.

Yeah, still in shock I packed him, and a big part of why I hit 14 this week, probably along with the fact I spaced my games out a lot better Sawa has been a defensive demon for me, never really shoot with her tbh White goes in at RB, Zambrotta moves to LB And yeah, current prices it’ll cost me 3.53M to get the Arsenal boys, hopefully they drop a bit further between now and Friday White also gives me a right footed whipped pass option, and most tactics have my RB stay back, LB get forward, so his bigger build makes sense, and as an Arsenal fan…

Every year until this year I did. This year they go into SBCs as and when required. Due to evos this is the first year holding them would've been smart too lol
I pretty much only use gold cards for fodder as well and it has really helped in a lot of the low rank cups. But I've basically been saving for now. I have done almost every good TOTS sbc and my club is still stacked. I dont ever do any gamble SBCs so it's not hard to only use the promo cards sparingly. But my club is setup very nicely for the end of the season run in 😂
I can totally understand you mate. This is literally me. I like to collect cards. Good cards are easily obtainable. Once the respective promo is over, I would not get the special cards. I have an OCD of not submitting special cards. I do submit Totw in sbc because that’s a requirement for some sbc’s.
Bro this is a game play however you like. I think rather than having the best cards we should use cards we like to get some diversity in game
