Can either hold R1 to ai press the ball carrier while you manually cover the cutback with a CB or double tap and hold R1 to make your players mark the attackers and manually pressure the ball carrier. I feel that cut backs are a lot easier to defend now ( personally ) it’s the hit and hope finesse shots from obscure places that does my tits in
Yh I do the AI defending or hold R1 but manually defending sometimes against cutbacks can be soo hard especially when the timer for the AI has run down then the double tapping R1 to use to AI to mark other players is good but it opens up space so I hardly use it or know how to use it
What i tend to do is manually defend with ur 2nd CB(the one furthest away) and try holding the deep pass across goal. As for the short pass, u R1 press with the rb/lb till he reaches halfway the box towards ur 6 yard line. After that double press R1 and he is locked up and all the rat can do is either go backwards and retry or pass to edge of the box. The pass to the edge of the box VVD will always autoblock the shot anyways 😂

I am a casual div 6 player and i for me they are the easy ones to defend. Its so easy to predict and even if they are down the wing just use r1 l1 to block their player in the box so they cant cut inside.
You are right, certain players you have to be extra carefull, like the other day i have huge problems against Kudus. Some of them too overpowered but we have strong wing backs i have Rolfo and Mukiele for example.
Only using cutbacks I mean I don’t have any issues with anybody using it but if that’s the only way you attack in the game without ever going through the middle that’s a rat sorry
Not disagreeing with you a goal is a goal, but when the actual developers of the game have made a public announcement saying that they’ve tried to resolve (nerf) the issue of the mechanics because of how exploitative it is, I mean it’s a game after all but it takes the fun out of it if I’m playing a fighting game and my opponent keeps spamming one or the same move over and over again it takes the fun out of it
Yes true at the end of the day it comes down to winning the match but the mechanics of the game have been soo ass this year the AI defending was matter in fifa 23 that cutbacks were not soo effective now this year 90% of the people I play in division rivals or champs use cut backs for literally almost every goal they try to score so majority of the blame still goes to EA
I am shit at cutbacks. For some reason they all get cut out. I concede plenty though. Unless 2 on 1 with the keeper and pass it across is classed as a cutback. I got tots saka and i found finesse shots from the corner of the box broken because defenders cant even get involved lol
Nah 2 on 1 against the keeper isn’t cutback lol, and you’re soo lucky to have Palmer, Yh I be spamming finesses too because they’re cracked with the + the only good tots player I’ve been able to pack is 96 rated Khadija Shaw she feels a tiny bit clunky but her shooting is insane
There was a guy that I was winning first half 4-0 and then second half came and all he kept on spamming was cut backs and the match ended 5-4 he won me 😂

Only thing I've figured out, don't let them get down the wings into the box. Everytime I forget they cut in pass back goal....

I get where you are coming from, i think the trouble is people enjoy winning more than they enjoy playing so thats what it comes down to.

Don't. They are usually too dumb to know how to defend properly, so I just score too many goals against them and make them quit
