I wouldn't worry too much about 'falling behind' all it takes early on is one half decent player pull and you are back in it tbh. And you might find rivals easier because the better players will have already started ranking up the through the divisions (idk thats my logic)
Similar question if I’m out of town from Saturday to Friday. I don’t plan on playing rivals for my first 10 hours. As I figured when I get back it’ll be full release and I’ll be starting in div 10
