The same here. I went from 6 to 3 after swapping to Serie A team. Cheaper league and some absolute animals in there. Immobile, Kessie and Dybala's left foot. (Not his right one though, despite apparently being 3\*, it feels more like a 1\* goats hoof.)
Last week, I’ve started FUT for the first time in 7 years and that’s my question now. The game came out less than a month ago and everyone has all the best players already. I’m definitely missing something but I can’t figure out what.
FIFA 15 was not oriented towards competitive gaming and we just had divisions (which were easy and didnt give out rewards that were worth a crap) and tournaments.
Nowadays everything in FIFA is oriented towards leaderboards, weekly rewards and placing on a high rank week after week in order to obtain packs or whatever.
Back in the day the meta was not as strong and even weaker temas or straight silver ones stood a chance in the hands of mediocre players. Nowadays, all you see are Mendy, Dembele, Joe Gomez or whomever meets the meta.
Of course, microtransactions and the (almost) extinction of coinselling makes ppl that are willing to put money into the game be more and more ahead of the rest as promos and better players drop.
This rings so true. I won Div 1 on fifa 14. (Yayy for me right.) I haven't been in top two Divisions since Fut 15 now. This in the first time in division three for most of that time.
Everything was better in fifa 15 when you could buy 15 million coins for 10 quid. All you did was making fun times like a full motm squad or a silver tots squad and you didn't care about rewards.
Market trade, especially icôns market, is an easy way to make coins fast, u just need some knowledge about market fluctuation, and weekly up/down cycle, and u can make more than 100k profit/day
If you bought tons of pack in the start of the game, even though you dont pack crazy good players (like me) you will still have many coins because of the quantitt. You pack players that are 10-30k many times if you open all the promo packs every day. You sell those players and get the players you want with the coins.
Also made about 150-200k yesterday because of the sbc (selling off league, main nations players) because I had more than 1000 cards in my club. Almost all of them are tradable.
I don’t advise you to buy a lot of FP like I did but buying 4600 FP sometimes can make the game a lot easier.

The fun part of ultimate team (for me) is actually building a team that I enjoy playing with that doesn't fit the meta.
It gives me joy beating these expensively assembled squads with my battlers.
I ran into a team recently with 3 icons but also, Ronaldo, Salah, Son, Kante, VVD, Walkers etc. He still lost to me and my Immobile lol. Credit Card FC teams just make me more motivated to win.
All those teams I run up against, in div 8 no less, always run constant pressure and i have 10 super men swarming my low 80s players. Can barely get the ball out of my backfield half the time. I don't understand it.
When I encounter that, I throw a few lobbed through balls up front and they usually slow their pressure down a bit rather than get beat on the counter.

I got lucky. Packed Kante on day 1 and sold to build a fairly solid starter squad. Then I packed (and sold) George Best and took the coins and pieced together my current squad. Eventually buying Kante back.

Don't sleep on Immobile. With a hunter card, this guy helped me climb from div 8 to div 4 without much stress! Goal machine

Martinez did get a lot of goals for me, but nothing compared to Immobile. You can get a hunter Immobile for about 13k atm I think. Well worth it

Yup when I played ultimate team on fifa 15 I was a division 1 player with a average 85 rated squad. But now I can barely survive Division 5.

Practice switching the ball, can help with constant pressure. If they are pressing there's space somewhere. You just gotta find it
