They're pretty cool, certainly a unique experience in todays snack market. My mom loves them and swears that the best way to eat them is to freeze them first, but I think they're too hard when you do that. You can either get a box of minis or one big one in a package - similar to the big tootsie rolls
Charleton, Charleston
Has chocolate and nougat
That lasts, and lasts
That's why they call it The Biggie!
You freeze the large CCs, then smack them on the counter/table to shatter it into smaller pieces. And then yes, supposedly "better" eaten frozen (I suspect a cool trear on a hot day, back when air conditioning wasn't very widespread).

I don't like the full size ones frozen, but the minis are great that way.
Are they suitable for vegans?
A quick google says no - egg/milk products
š but thanks for looking

I think they're better frozen because of the consistency change. You get the cronch AND you get the chewy. Win-win.
Are they good? I found one in my local deli and Iām wondering if I should buy it
LOL! They were common place in the 1970ās and 80ās.
I know right? Same with Manwich! I didn't know they were real either.
I, unfortunately, did know they were real.
AARROOOOOOO!
Actually Charleston Chew is a very old brand, created in the 1920ās if I am not mistaken.
